@@Beaver_Monday Yes, my memory is indeed shit, and like everything else about me, a disappointment. Of course Friday was in the movie with vision, she replaced Jarvis after Tony though Ultron killed him. And, by extension, of course she deployed Hulkbuster, (Technically, Hulkbuster was deployed by it's own dedicated satellite with it's own AI that Tony was calling Veronica, which was hovering over the battle, deploying replacement parts as needed) as Jarvis was still MIA at that point.

Actually the first suit at the start of age of ultron it's the definitive version of mark 42 with inverted colors

That is not Dummy but the Robot (Butter Fingers) that was holding the Camera for Tony. Dummy was in the back and the one who freed the piece that rammed into the glass of one of the past Iron Man suits.
I think that's actually 'U', his other robot. He looks like he's panicking to me because of the fire.
If I remember correctly Tony has three of those robots. Dummy, who is the most seen, Butterfingers, and U.

This scene is a perfect example of why the MCU has continued to be popular long past the point at which most franchises would have burned out. The transition from funny to cool to funny to badass to funny again feels so organic and it just never misses a beat.
MCU's formula stopped working after Iron Man. They tried to turn every superhero into Tony stark. Even phase 4 follows the same quirky, funny and badass template, which is very pretentious. They really should have let Tony stark have that personality unique to him. The reason why mcu remains popular is its dedicated fan base and not the transitions. Honestly these transitions worked only for iron man. After Avengers 1, they simply tried to copy paste Stark.

Seriously, listen to the dialogue between them and you'll see that Tony started ignoring Jarvis, so Jarvis purposefully spend up the suit and I'm pretty sure he even did that last bit just to watch Tony fail - ALL to prove his (Jarvis') point!

That was actually caused by Tony's shirt pattern blocking light from being seen at angles, which made the arc look like it was turning on and off during some scenes and camera angles. His arc was always glowing, but was seen as being dim because of his dark shirt, and it's not easy to see because of his shirt's vertical thread pattern. If you pay attention to the scenes as he's walking before he goes to put on Mark42, you can see the affect his shirt has on being able to see his arc. You pretty much can only see his arc if the camera is right in front of him, which falsely gives the illusion that the arc is turning on/off. Also, Mark42 has it's own arc reactor and doesn't run on Tony's arc reactor. The light coming from Mark42's chest-plate mounted arc light that turns on is the suit's own vibranium arc reactor II, and is separate from Tony's arc for his heart.

As wild and outrageous as they got with Tony's inventions and suits, the one thing that kept it grounded was that Tony wasn't perfect every time. This scene is a good example of that. The suit didn't come to him immediately and then after the first two or three pieces worked, he got confident and then all hell breaks loose. He gets tossed around, the pieces of the suit go flying everywhere, then just when you think he got it, the final piece hits him and he goes down.

The Mark 42 is the prototype for the Mark 43 and Mark 44 ( hulkbuster ). The Mark 42 was the first suit to be able to separate and reform into one whole suit but this suit would be inevitably destroyed while taking out Killian. But it did serve for a more transportable version of the Iron man suit and this idea would be also integrated into the Mark 43, Mark 44, Mark 45, and the others up until the fully transportable nano tech Mark 50. The Mark 42 was one of the few suits that Tony Stark gave a full name to that name being The Prodigal's Son. The Mark 42 was also the only suit to never leave the prototype phase. While the Mark 42 had many benefits it also had many down sides to it like weaker armor, could be kept separated with a barn door, and less energy for flight depending on your location.
It did make an Easter egg appearance in Spider-Man homecoming, when Vulture is robbing the plane, it can apparently be see in the background. So at some point it got rebuilt

I always loved the mark 42 suit. Its sleek, but not like infinity war. Its bulky but not like the first suits and I always loved the fact that the gold replaces the red on the suit. Just, mwa! Love it.

I like that Tony is a human who is facing real emotional & psychological problems (possibly PTSD), to be showing such manic energy after being awake for 72 hours. The MCU didn't shy away from this topic, Thor, Capt America, Hulk, Wanda etc all suffered.
