Cherlyn Solie I’ve heard of this Dr. but the only way to test for herpes is if there is a leisure present. they swab the sore and lab it. so i don’t know how they tested your blood for the virus. Most people carry the herpes virus. just be careful of scammers. best of luck

I remember the day I found out as well, it's as if it happened yesterday. Much like you, I was very uneducated. It's funny how much have change since I found out. I feel healthier, and I educated myself. I'm appreciating life more and all the smaller things in life. Having HIV does not make your dirty, or filthy, you are 100% correct. So that just reflects on ur own negative mindset. Love your attitude. I was diagnosed with stage 4 breast cancer in March ...and the tips you gave on attitude and outlook is on point ! That’s what’s been helping me. It’s all about mindset but believe that it’s also God. When we turn to Him for help , no matter what state we are in or what we have done , his love is unconditional like a mother. I am doing good so far. It will be a year that I was diagnosed with HIV on October 13th, 2017. I found out through a lymph node that was taken out under my breast. The medication is wonderful and I only hang around positive people and my doctors are amazing. They believe in the power of spirituality.

Sending love. You popped up under my recommended videos and I always believe nothing is coincidence. As far as I know I don't have HIV but two years ago I became extremely sick and lethargic and all of my blood work comes back normal but it's definitely changed my entire quality of life to the point where I've had moments that I have feared death. Your strength and the way you stay positive is so amazing and I strive for that because I know that's exactly the attitude I need to cope with my unknown illness. My mother passed away at 51 from AIDS which she got from an untested blood transfusion in 1985. She did not live a healthy lifestyle or take her medication and I feel like if she would have just taken her medication she would have still been around. It's amazing the advocacy and the awareness you're raising by just speaking about it. And it's amazing to know that even with your condition you are still living your best life possible and that is inspiring. Thank you so much. 💜💜💜

I tested positive in 1992. I immediately told my family, sadly, they decided right then and there, that they wanted nothing else to do with me. Looking for some kind of support, I’ve told a few more people, to no avail. I’ve even had extremely bad experiences with online hiv support groups. To this day, I still have no support system and am dealing with not only hiv, but other health issues alone. I feel dirty and unlovable. Just trying to get through each day.

You are so worthy of love and you are definitely not dirty because you have HIV. With the advancements in medicine for HIV nowadays people who are HIV+ are more likely to lead a healthier and longer life than those who aren’t HIV+. Prep has also made a huge difference in prevention of the virus, HIV education even though it’s exhausting sometimes really does make a huge impact on the stigma still surrounding the virus. I do not have HIV but I have friends whom are positive and share very similar experiences from their diagnoses and it breaks my heart you’ve dealt with this as well. Honestly I was very blind to all the facts until my friend who is HIV+ bravely allowed me to ask questions, because of this I understand the virus and can now share with others this information. You have your whole life to live regardless of your status and I know it’s painful you do not have the support of your family and friends but know you have support of me, although I am a stranger I believe you are so incredibly brave and strong! Please keep sharing your story and educating others on the virus!

It's hard for people who are negative to not discriminate because they're is alot of false info out there, like catching it if you share food, etc. Sad to say.. very sad and I apologise profusely, I was one of those people. This is really strange. REALLY strange. So I got into a situation and I'm going to get tested in 2 months. I have been beside myself with worry. What's strange is that I finally decided to educate myself in case, and your vid was the first I chose. I currently work at Johns Hopkins hospital during the pandemic. I have had a journal this whole time and had many times where I broke down crying in the ER. Journaling some of my deepest thoughts have kept me going in life. I think your videos were very inspiring. I am in a line of work and my business partner something similar that creates a safe space where complete strangers open up about incredible challenges. I was away for a bit and when I got back he spoke to me about a lady that called him aside and disclosed her status, teared up and said it would be fine if he refused to work with her. He treated her like an absolute queen, and wished I had been in so she could pop into my side for some advice. I looked at him and said you "touched" her in a meaningful way - don't see that as less, that is the MOST. Sure, when she comes by I am sure we will have an awesome chat, but basic things. You said it: you are not dirty, there is nothing shameful and we don't need to be professionals to be decent human beings toward each other. This channel personifies that "decency of being and sincere caring". I look at views vs comments. Silence does not mean untouched. Stay awesome brother.

When I was diagnosed in 12/21/10, I was 32 years old with three kids the ages 12,10 & 6. My eldest and youngest is very sickly. So I didn’t have time to cry or say why me. I looked at my family and said what I thought was a lie at the time. We got this, we will find the best doctor I can afford and we be ok. 8 years later I have been undetected for 7 years. I was so scared I will die but my children’s father said to me when I told him. I will not be taken the kids, you should have been die no you was dead when you gave birth to our youngest. But you are still here, I know these medicines is making you sick because some of them you are allergic to but you will be fine when everything is said and done. He was right. As for my ex-husband who gave this to me, we are still family too.

HIV is a dreaded disease I hope to never end up with. At 16 I watched a documentary back in 94' and a 35 yr old woman had a one night stand and she got her self tested only to find out she was diagnosed with HIV. She was devastated and had to take medication to prolong her life. Sadly she ended up losing the battle 4 yrs later and passed. It scared me and I felt like I was walking on egg shells so to speak and it became my greatest fear. It still is, but I'm not as afraid anymore and I live the single life and I don't need to be paranoid of catching that disease.

So my doctor scared me a while ago that I may get HIV if I’m not being careful. I had an incident a few weeks ago that made me worried. But I’m going to get tested in 3 months. Whatever the results are, life still goes on. ❤️ If my test comes back negative, I will be extra careful and grateful.

I was surprised but no shock or stress in my case. I don't even think about it. I know perfectly well how and when it happened: I had been on PreP successfully for the previous two years but I got a bit careless and didn't take it correctly. PreP is very effective but finding the right pills is not enough, we have to use them correctly and under the supervision of a doctor.

I am trying to take control of the situation. I am working with some NGOs. I am not a citizen of India, I fear they will deport me if the government officials come to know about my status. I don't want to go back to my mother's country. There I will surely die because of it's never ending economic problems and fantastic unemployment rates. I send money to support my mother and a little brother. There is no job for a Spanish-English-Hindi interpreter in Argentina. Diego - man sorry to hear you're alone. However, I'm sending you good vibes from Australia. The news you got is shocking at first and if you can find some services in your area where you can get someone to talk to - do so. Remember this HIV is now considered nothing more than a chronic condition that can be managed with daily medication. Indeed, lifespans of HIV positive people are the same as HIV negative people. It's just another bloody virus - nothing more and it is 100% manageable. Get onto your meds immediately, take them at the same time everyday - never miss a dose. Look after yourself and within a short time you'll realise all is going to be okay. Best wishes. Look after yourself mate.
