Brahms sounds so different, and, dare I say, more authentic on this pristine preserved period piano (1874 Ehrbar), and an interpreter like Alexei Lubimov who was a student of the legendary Heinrich Neuhaus *and* then specialized in historical interpretations on period instruments. A recital to cherish! Stay put for the three encores. Worth every note, literally.

we are lucky to be able to listen to such an exquisite pianist since his country prevented him from performing outside its border for a very long time. In 2022, he was part of an anti-war concert which was interrupted by Russian police. So feast your ears, everyone.
