We got a call for a Jeep Grand Cherokee that the upper ball joint mount had ripped out of the aluminum differential housing!
He was 4-wheeling on a pretty gnarly trail up on Hurricane Mesa.
We recruited Paul, from Fab Rats for his welder and welding skills.
• Helping a Jeep get out...
It was eight miles in this trail so after some 4-wheeling to get to it, some winching to get the axle back in place, and some welding to hold it there, we were able to tow it out.
The banana got a flat on the way out due to the valve stem getting ripped off.
Hope you enjoy!

Thanks for watching! - Авто/Мото
Would of loved to see Matt's wife do a second intro when they went back for the Jeep. "So I got a call for a yellow jeep that went out on the trails without a spare and got stuck with a flat tire".
Jamie needs her own channel " Jamie rescues Matt"
"And all I'm carrying him is a spare valve stem, a can of starting fluid and the air compressor."
This got me laughing! Would be perfect.
The real question is how much she charged Matt for that rescue. I am sure her rates are higher than his!
Bwhaaaaaaa
And, here I am again, 2-years later, watching old MORR videos, because it is sooooo much better than what I have on the 1000+channels on Xfinity Cable tonight.... Thanks for these, they really are timeless. Fun to relive the adventures!!
July 23 here now, I started at the beginning and working my way through em all. Though I cheated and watched the morrvair build first, then the wrecker, now everything else while I wait for more bombi action! Not much for recoveries lately, I really hope they ramp things up again! Heck I'd go work for Matt if I could
I agree these are better than tv channels.
These older videos with Fab Rats are gold
Agreed!!
😊
“Ok I wouldn’t go this way, but you got it”
That’s the biggest argument I’ve ever heard from this crew. Such amazing gentleman!
No argument...that was just an observation...
Now the biggest one is “dont listen to anyone but me” and he was completely in the right for saying it because they had a stretch rope and customer was tryna tell jaime how to drive so matt hollered to jaime “dont listen ti anyone but me” and he only hollered cause he was like 50-60 feet away at the time. They are so chill its insane. My buddies would be losing their crap.
It's fun going back and watching these old videos when Matt and Paul were first starting to get the hang of RUclips. It's also neat to see how much Matt's shop has evolved in the past three years. Landon's grown a lot, too.
I can’t even believe this level of service exists. Crazy.
John , Everything , I repeat , everything is is just nuts, bolts, and dollars .
My guess the bill was around a grand.
Cyberdactyl that’s insane... I was thinking 3-5. Amazing to me that someone would be willing to do this for 1k
I really wonder how much this costed
@@Cyberdactyl probably considerably more than 1 grand. Given amount of hours and numerous vehicles/people to get the job done.
I really like watching these videos not only because I like cars but also because Matt is very calm, he doesn't swear, doesn't get emotional. He just goes on with his job without any hesitation, blaming or complaining. It's like ASMR to me.
Keep up the good work, Matt!
Cheers from Poland!
He's kind of like Bob Ross with oversize tires instead of oversize brushes.
Absolutely, I watch Matt to find peace, it’s incredible
My wife said the exact same thing. He's not full of drama, everything is calm and fun to watch. She loves this show.
I agree but even before I saw this comment I was wondering what happens when these guys hit their limit and lose it. Everyone has a limit and it may be that they have very small expressions of it or it could be something else. I don't want to see them lose their crap and embarrass themselves or anything it is just something I am curious about.
@@chrisjohner4307 they just edit out the parts where Lizzy has to hold him down while Trevor gives him a sedative.
As an ex wrecker driver, who has driven sling-style, flatbed, wheel lift, and I even drove semi Wreckers, you guys have my absolute utmost respect!! The patience you have to do what you do is unbelievable. I know how difficult it can be just to try to figure out how to flip a car back over or a big rig. But you guys take the figuring and the mentality you must have to do this to a whole new level. I absolutely love your channel. And thank you all for doing what you do in the locations you do it in, and especially in that weather!
Out of curiosity what does a typical recovery cost?
Best part of that freebie for the service member is watching how humble matt was about it. Not a word said, nothing later for the camera, nothing. Tells me for sure he's done that a bunch of times with no cameras in sight. He's genuine, his channel is genuine, his content is genuine, that's why I subscribe..
What women think men want: scantily clad bimbos pounding alcohol dancing at the club. What men actually want: 21:39 A beautiful and loyal wife that will drive out into the middle of the desert with you, twice, to fix a flat tire, and then push the spare up the hill for ya.... cheers Jamie, you the Real MVP!!
How much you want to bet she brought food with her as well?
Definitely. We want a real lice partner not just some bimbo for a fun night, this may be an unpopular opinion but I believe that guys who just want a fun night are still boys, not yet real mean

I'm lucky like this also!! My woman will dig right in and get dirty and greasy as heck!! She might complain some, But has always helped when/where needed!. She's my partner on 90% of my recovery work!!. Yes, We are blessed to have great women!!!.
Ed’s a real trooper, staying up all day and most of the night. You’re the man Ed.
Watching him welding under the Jeep reminded me how my boss in 1972 set a station wagon on fire, by welding. My boss was a black-smith, but his main-income came from regular iron works like Widows Handrails and other items. I don't think in the early 1970 there was a aftermarket for towing-bars with the towing-ball. My boss was known around town that he could fit a custom towing-bar. Well one day one 1 year old Opel-Record Station-Wagon came in, and my Boss started to work on it fixing it with a towing-bar.
We had a service ditch normally covered with wooden-planks strong enough if the front-tire was resting on it, the wood would still hold. In front of it there we had some stairs to get down, and at the proper place one would lift the planks out and do the work. My boss had cut all the pieces he needed, I was holding the tube which was going to be the towing-bar. Everything was prepared for the in-place welding done. I was kneeling outside beside the car, while he was welding. The bright light is too strong as welders know. So I was looking outside our garage (the doors open) suddenly my boss yelled fire, run the stairs up, what I do not remember is, if we had a fire extinguisher, I know I was watching it from the outside but somehow he got the fire stopped.
What caught on fire was the flexible gas line coming from the Gas-tank running to frame of the car. This line was burned by some of the welding sparks during welding. The side of the car was black from the fire, and my boss had to buy the car from the owner, since the insurance did not cover such accidents.
Every man needs a wife like yours. She is not afraid of a little dirt under her nails.
Yes, Jamie is a total hero. I wonder what time Matt and Jamie got up after not getting to bed till 4am?
I second that for sure.
Its Jamies safety footware thats special
AMEN!!!
Matt has proven once again he is the King of OFF- Road Recovery.
That yellow Jeep gave everything it got in this recovery. All around amazing video. Great friends, amazing wife, skillful bush fix on a difficult technical trail and one heck of a long day. This recovery really pushed men and machines to the limit. One of those days that you never want to repeat and don't even want to think about anymore even though you know you deserve a medal for it.
This is the very first video I saw from Matt's and it hooked me on both the MORR and Fab rats channels, so many videos of great entertainment. Hope to see a lot more, thanks.
You think one of the tire companies would give Matt a set of tires to “trail test”. Come on BFG, Nitto, GoodYear?
Matt can you please replace them tires lol
Absolutely! Wheres the sponsorships? Imagine the advertising they would get being partnered with an offroad recovery company
Never mind Goodyear , they’re Anti American.
Agreed!

Ed is hilarious! Can't imagine the price of that rescue. Not all heroes wear capes. Some have welders. Love the video!
He charges typically $300-$500. Something like this? $1000 easy.
@@SPPTA That seems completely reasonable for the time and effort.
Good to know in case I ever need to make the call. Modern white knights- I always feel like a princess when towing shows up.
"A sticky spot, indeed" But the banana and Matt & the rest of the crew persevered as usual and got it done. It was great to see Paul working with these guys as well. Btw, there's no shame in using a winch, just a soft shackle, lol
Matt’s team and Paul’s team work so good together. So calm , no complaining and so good at what they do. Something everyone should strive to do.

Those jacks kill ppl... A bit sketchy😳
No doubt especially when the dude welding under the jeep was hammering away at stuff trying to get stuff lined up.
@@mtbcyclist In this case, the WJ was supported up front by the Banana's winch line, it was supported side to side by the terrain, so it really had nowhere to go.
@@RobGADV So you're saying it was only about 3/4 as dangerous as it looked?
@Rob G. Hi lift Jack's are great for some things, but the way it was used in that situation was VERY dangerous. Those jacks fall sideways. Super dangerous to be underneath anything without some kind of safety. Glad no one was hurt.
Only Matt at 2am, has a good tire ready to be installed so he can go home and go to bed, but instead he is searching for the reason his tire went flat. You guys are awesome!

Kudos to Jamie for going out in the middle of the night and rolling a big spare tire up that was bigger than she was. Gotta love how the jeep breaks on the trail, so Matt goes off the trail over super jagged rocks and makes it around. That's how you know how beastly his recovery jeep is compared to stock or even some upgraded jeeps.

PaaattyCaaakke I think that was somebody in his crew behind the wheel, I don’t believe the client was there for the recovery.
😂
This whole crew is Top Notch! The logistics in getting a car out, especially one that isn’t functioning, is beyond belief! (Not to mention the danger of what you guys/gals do…)
Hands down one of the gnarliest recoveries to date! I’ve watched this one at least three times!
