You guys are mind readers! I’ve been looking up recipes for currywurst over the past couple of weeks and I’m going to make some today. When I woke up this morning I opened my iPad and here you are making currywurst! Boy are you right, there are so many different recipes for it out there. I like yours, so I’m going to use this one. Have a great day guys!
Hi guys! I did make it and I have to say, it wasn’t for us. Maybe it was the sausage I used or maybe the tomato based sauce. I can certainly see how it would be popular as a street food though. Not knocking it, it just wasn’t for us. I love curry though so that’s what drew me to this. Love you guys and all your recipes ❤. Bring them on!
The trick with Currywurst is: You can't get it wrong. You can't get it right. There are tons of ways to make it, different from region to region and cook to cook. They are all valid. And you will be called out for doing it wrong by everyone. And there are at least 2 cities that have a fight going on who invented it. However you do it, you will get kneejerks telling you you're doing it wrong. As you said in the video, "everyone is right".
Makes me think of Curry 36. Currywurst mit Pommes! I don't have to book a flight now! But "ich bin ein Berliner" ("I'm a jam filled donut). Really, boys?!?!?
Yum Yum Yum!! Make some currywurst mit pommes, Eric! LOL! Well, we are a couple of jam filled donuts, but we know that's just an urban legend! The history of how that came about is weird but interesting!! www.smithsonianmag.com/smart-news/why-does-everybody-think-jfk-said-im-jelly-donut-180963779/
" ich bin ein berliner " always amusing a berliner is a jam filled doughnut. Also squirt some mayo on the chips if you want a more authentic experiance. My aunts family runs acouple of schnell imbiss stands in Hamburg and they shallow fry cased bratwursts in 3-4 mm of lard and vegetable oil at a temp of 150c, yes they are that precise. As an FYI for caseless bratwursts 2mm of lard and vegetable oil at 130c. Blitz the onions before adding to the pot.
Loved seeing the photos and hearing the stories.

Oh my one of my favorite comfort foods I was stationed in Germany in the 1970s so great.
Isn't is just the best? We tried to do it justice and feel good about the results! Our German friends seem to approve, so that works for us!!
Oh justice has been served...lol Love your picture too.
Fun recipe ! I think I will toss some cheese curds on the fries too Curry sauce melting the cheese and tasting amazing♥️♥️🇨🇦🇨🇦
Yes! Someone said it's kind of like the German poutine, and we kind of agree! Especially with the addition of cheese curds!!

Not to be too critical but that seems to be a lot of sugar😉. That said i enjoyed your video.
