Someday this will be historical footage....😃
I haven't really thought of it that way. 👍
Flag looks good!
Thank you for watching!
oh we pavin
Very soon...
Nice. 👍
Thank you Blueman!
Curious, the guy on the paver, isn’t wearing fall protection!!!
Why is he even on it while they are flying it?
Are we in back to the future IV? 2014, TYPE PO.
I hope they plan on cleaning the deck when this is all said and done before opening, looks terrible, which that can't be helped right now
I'm sure the bridge will be cleaned by the bridge maintenance before it opens.
That spreader bar looks mighty sketchey
I'm not familiar with these. In what way doesn't it look right?
@@michaelanthonyvideos It looks like its actually 2 spreaders connected together with 4 bolts. Don't know for sure but there is a big bow in the middle of it.
Sketchy is being too kind to it. That looks outright dangerous, and you are correct that it appears to be bowing.
Yes, you're right!! I see it now.@@jakeo2600
Where is mi OSHA there is numerous violations going on here
maybe they haven't seen the video.
Hope they build substantial barriers around any of the support columns near the water. It would be a shame to see a fine bridge like this one collapse due to contact like the Baltimore bridge.
The stanchions on each side of the bridge are built on land about 40ft away from the river. That may not be much, but the dredged shipping channel is towards the center of the river and any boat with a significant draft that goes wandering out of the channel will generally run aground before it gets very close to the riverbank.
@dougall1687 let's hope so, over time erosion and dredging changes water depth which causes culping beneath pilings and weakens stanchions and barriers designed for protection, they'll have to constantly monitor them for maintenance.
@@gregblanton9386 Yeh, I can't post links, but if you search "gordie howe bridge tower" in google images, you'll see that the bridge supports are not protruding into the river at all.
@dougall1687 yea I seen the video of their location. These newer cargo ships have much wider deck overhang than older ships, they can easily contact critical bridge infrastructure without the correct piling spacing in place. Some of these newer ships bow decking is 90 feet beyond the hull beneath the water and they continue to build them larger and larger.
@@gregblanton9386 Those newer super-large salties wouldn't get through the locks into the great lakes though - seawaymax width is only 78ft wide (and that's above the waterline too as they need to be lowered within the lock walls). Also as I mentioned, the river is pretty shallow by the shores of the river, 11ft on the Canadian side for example out to about 100ft from the bank.
Still think it’s going to collapse
