May 28, 2024. Stay cable adjustments.
The construction of the Gordie Howe International Bridge is a major infrastructure project spanning both the United States and Canada. The bridge is named after Gordie Howe, a Canadian ice hockey player who was one of the greatest players in the history of the sport.
The project involves a significant workforce, including engineers, construction workers, project managers, environmental specialists, and various other professionals. These workers come from both sides of the border and collaborate to ensure the successful completion of the bridge.

I feel like I should have a parachute on....... wow thats high...... GREAT JOB to the Ironworkers ! .... and the Drone Pilot Michael👍👍👍
Thank you, Robert!
They know what they’re doing. Cables will be adjusted road will be level
There's a post production opportunity for compilation of Stay cable installation, threading, sheathing, tightening, and finishing. And for the beam work, and extensions, under-scaffolding, . And tower construction, fixation and deconstruction. Entrance ramps, Exits. . Rerod specifics...
oh well, just a fantasy.
Thanks so much for the inspiring footage and editing. This episode covered the fascinating components. Much fun.
It may still be possible to work on the project. It would be cool!
This is majestic to watch, thank you for showing us how they adjust the cables. So amazing! The Iron workers don't know that we are all fascinated, to them it's just another day at work. They are amazing!
I'm glad that you enjoy it and thank you for watching!
Wonderful views ! What a bridge ! 👏👏
There's not much going on down there now though.
Great drone work
Thank you, Carlos!
another milestone has finished
Canadian side an 220 Metre tall support tower holds up the stay cables that help distribute the load on the bridge deck. The second tower does the same on the US. side.... An awesome feat!!!! Great job everyone!!!!! 💪💪💪.... Gordie Howe would be so proud...
It's amazing technology and very interesting! 👍
It has been reliably reported over the years, Gordie Howe grew up in western Canada and played professional hockey for 25 years with the Detroit Red Wings, married a Detroit girl and lived in Detroit in the off season.
@@user-kp2rr8xf7x Colleen Howe was from Sandusky, Michigan.
Calm down, Shaniquah, you know Canada is second to the U.S.A. 💪
Would love to see the rest of the cable placement
Have to have a ball-hockey game when the two sides meet!!
Do the Stay Cables go thru both towers so it’s basically 1 long cable for from end anchor point to end anchor point. Or do they attach to each side of the towers so they are basically 4 cables per run? Thanks.
It is not one long cable. Each cable is connected within the white tube on the side of each bridge deck section with the other end connected inside the tower. The cable exiting the tower on the other side is a separate cable, also connected inside the tower and then at the white tube at the bridge deck.
@@SteveR59 Thank you for the answer. Go Lions! One Pride.
5:45 now the Canadian side is looking higher
Yes it does! It’s interesting how they’re doing this.
Do they have strain/stress gauges on those cables to get the correct loads?
Why is the American side so far behind the Canadian side? Deck is still not in place.
Nice choice of music on this one.
Thank you Joel!
Great footage. Not much info.
.. Funny no one noticed the man smoking on the job, he even grabbed the tightening device and gave a pull with the cigarette in his mouth , then he (litters) by dropping it on this new bridge, and steps on it .. and where do you think it will eventually go, In the Detroit River, as if the fish and waters aren't polluted enough. Bravo , I saw the video of the crane, that almost hit your drone and the guys in background, doing the damit it missed.. I just became a Drone flyer myself and it gets better every day !
Damn litterbugs! Hey Karen, you should speak to his manager about that.
@@bert-qu3iq You have to be a sarcastic prick about this? You simply do not know what you are talking about. If you want to know a real 'Karen' I have a sister named Karen, (I do in r/l) and let me tell you she is a real KAREN so nobody, no one has got anything on a simple Karen. I have one other sister that is 6' as well is My sister Karen, and another sister that is 5'8" and myself is the runt of the litter. We are all scrappers, so if you would like a taste of my sisters and I we will swarm you; and just because I'm the runt, I'll def hurt you where it counts. You put that sarcastic tongue back in your head boy. Now, that's a true Karen. And, watch out for my brother.
That was well spotted Maverick!
@@Sandra-mw3yp Hey, what? Forgot about me already? Thought you were gonna kick my butt.
I noticed that.
Michael yours are the best , do those guys in the towers have a elevator?❤❤
Yes there’s a construction elevator.
@@michaelanthonyvideos Do they base jump off at the end of the day , right to their car 😂😂😂
@@user-gf3lw5pi4t Actually I wouldn't be surprised at all if I saw them do that.
Here's a video of the construction elevator:
ruclips.net/video/jO2cYxtIhiw/видео.html
There are elevators inside the towers for maintenance use in the future. From the top of the tower down to where it splits into two legs, there is a vetical elevator. Inside each slanted leg there is an elevator that rides on rails in order to go from the split down to the bottom. The elevators are most likely not installed yet.
when will the last segment of the bridge get placed?
Late June. It's a process. Lot's to do. The mid-span closure section is not just 1 piece to drop in place. The section is made just like the other sections except that it is about 11 meters (36 ft) instead of 15 meters (49 ft), and it does not have stay cables. It can take up to 12 days to install a section.
When this is completed, will there be a celebration hockey game played on the span?
There should be...
We hope so.
Address, Windsor Canada/Detroit Michigan.
Are the same height or not?
Not yet...
What is the use in complaining? It’s fascinating to watch. Michael does such an excellent job with the drone. We are lucky that he post them so fast.
Thank you for all your time in making and sharing these videos ...
I will do some detail engineering videos of this structure and use some of your content...
With that said, would you like some, if any of the little monetized money I may get?
I know i can use them under fair use rights but I am a fair person.

Should have been a tunnel
What about the hazmat trucks?
That has to take so serious testicles to be working at the top of the towers. Not for me!!!
Nice looking dog you have there Jim!

🙏👍
Typical union jobs three guys working another 20 guys are so just standing around with their thumbs up there… all making close to $100 an hour, if not more, including all their benefits.
They don't make that much, not even the foreman makes that much.
This is what I think when I see politicians, problem is, they don't even build anything
How can you fly above 400 ft? Illegal to do so.
You really need to adjust your volume Levels I have to mute your music if you call it that. my god.😮
Quit complaining, good grief!!
Easy, get a commercial drone licence.
Actually, you are incorrect.
Right from the FFAs website.
1) Is flown within a 400-foot radius of a structure; and
(2) Does not fly higher than 400 feet above the structure's immediate uppermost limit.

You still have to stay below 400 ft. Can't pull the wool out from under me.
$25,000.00 fine and you should be reported. Look it up.
