I want to prescribe narcotics because it’s appropriate for the patient- not because they have been on it forever and I’m just suppose to refill it mindlessly. That wasn’t disclosed on the interview. Prescribing narcotics increases your risks for lawsuits and it’s something that shouldn’t be taking lightly. Since they were being shady about it, it didn’t sit well with me so I left.
