i have the little problem of being cross-eye dominant and in my country stumbling on a bow is rather difficult, let alone a left-handed one, so i've been putting some time into research and having in mind how red dots work, it seems i found a solution
No peep means less weight on the string which means slightly faster.
No peep means no peep rotation.
No sight light needed for low light conditions.
Adjustable dot size.
No fiber optic to worry about breaking.
Easy micro adjust of clicking windage and elevation knobs.
...
Lots of things to like about using this sight on a bow.
I'm not gonna lie.. this sight looks pretty bad ass in person. It really looks cool on the bow.. I'm very lucky and blessed to have good eyes. I like that I could take this off and put it on my turkey gun. That's pretty freaking awesome
I have a red dot bow on a, I found my sight mount like probably 30 years ago, I have a handgun scope on my bow,,and yes, it's all about the sight mount
Very cool sight..
Sweet !!!! I really like that you bring this tech stuff here as well. I have not seen this type of review anywhere else.. 🖖 Thanks... PS: Echo was not that bad.. = you can adjust your voice quite nicely for it.
I've always noticed that some people duck their heads to look through the peep. I think they have the set up wrong. When I set up my peep. I stand up straight. Hold my head up straight and just pull my anchor to my face then have some one mark the spot on the string. I don't have any problems with that it's all natural. If you're ducking your head your peep is too low.
Any thoughts on the Peep Eliminator ? I've got problems with a peep . Glasses, cross dominant eye. It's so frustrating 👍🎯
Lol you should remove the sight all together and re-work your "form". But good thing you noticed it when editing your own video :D
Good stuff!
Glad I subbed!
Whats your over all opinion on the sight itself , accuracy out to what distance. .As well as price is it worth it
I just wanna Know when they are gonna send me a check for using my last name lol
I just switched from a right handed bow to a left handed because of being cross eye dominate. Now I can finally shoot with both eyes open. I think I am getting a ARD next, should I wait till the end of the season or try to get it during and get used it quickly at the range. In other words how long do you feel it will take to get used to the sight for hunting.
We're deep in the middle of season. I personally would stick with what you know works and is comfortable, and then look to make a switch post-season!
I miss my single lighted cobray pin.
If you had to choose between ARD and Burris Oracle which would you go with. Garmin seems to busy for me
Hi Nate, I just got in my ARD Ultradot II in yesterday. I only have 7 yards to play with at home so will sight in at 20 yards at range next week. But did I see you adjust that windage knob around 21:30 in your video for elevation? I thought that knob was for windage L to R?
I think I'd rather use a EZV or Garmin.
Dang, I want to like this sight but it seems so complicated.
Love your videos! My question is I'm just like you ware glasses and a beginner bow hunter, should I use traditional bow sight or try red dot sight?Which you think would be easier to use?
Try a traditional pin sight first. Easy, cheap entry to see if it works. I still shoot a fixed pin sight even with glasses for hunting.
What’s the distance you use this up to I have a PsE brute force shooting a 300 spine carbon express hunter arrow about 270 fps
Do you get any glare when you are using this red dot in bright sunlight?
Re: your explanation of why you have to centre the dot
Very interesting, if it worked like on a gun it would be amazing, still useful though.
Talking theoretically, would moving the sight almost inline with the nock fix this problem?
We center the dot because that is what tells us our form is correct. If the dot is left or to the right you are torquing the bow. If the dot is high or low your anchor is either too high or low. A red dot is not a light in the middle of a tube. The light is projected on Roma special glass that reflects the light back to your eye. The only way to see the dot in the center is to
Look right at it. This is why red dot sights work so well. The relationship of the dot to the string or knock has nothing to do with it. Happy to answer any of your questions. Tim zelenka
On a gun the dot is always in line with the barrel. They rigged and fixed to one another.
On a bow when every thing is lined up the dot and arrow are of course in line. If you torque the bow your dot is pointed in one direction and the arrow is pointed just as much in the other direction.
I do wonder if up and down isn’t quite as critical as left right though. There is no torque affect up and down.
What are you using for your anchor point, is your draw length the same as if you were using pins
I would thing you could measure your center shot, say 13/16, then measure the thickness of your riser and you would know how long the mounting rings need to be and eliminate the guessing.
That would work also or measure from the back of the riser to center of the rest which ever you like . Just round down to the nearest 1/8 inch.
At least it would be a great start
Is the ARD for Bow hunting,
Legal for use in Oregon?
What is “tuning” the bow mean??
Will this be legal to hunt with ?
It is very legal to hunt with! It's actually its entire intention to hunt with it.
@@averagejackarchery Not in Washington state and some other western states. I would be worried about fir and hemlock needles getting on the glass as well as water and dirt. Same reason I stopped using a Verifier in my peep, when I wanted to shoot something it would be blocked and hard to clean, then animal walks off. In a tree stand probably pretty cool though. Wonder if it would glare in low light and block out the target, same as what happens with lighted pins.
still making another vid on this topic?
Eventually, yes. We have been in and out of the hospital with our 5 yr old since November. Sadly haven't had time to focus on the channel.
@@averagejackarchery ugh that's not good ( with son ) hope all is well or is at least leaning in that direction him.
16 clicks at 25 8 clicks at 50 equals a inch
We don't move the elevation turret for distance , we have the adjustable mount. If you move the dot your anchor will change
apex covert pro is a far better option than this. plus it accepts a magnifier if you choose so. justtttt sayinnnn check it out.
You can magnify the Ultradot also I always say use what works best for you. What do you like better about the apex covert than the ARD? What didn't you like about the ARD when you shot it?
@@adjustablereddot So you do sell magnifying Len's for this setup?
Hey the audio and lighting is terrible. I wish there was less echo. Lol
Batteries, tits, and glass will always let you down. That said, I think the best ARD out there, for bows, is the Garmin. That said, I prefer a Black Gold three pin slider.
A garmin is not a red dot sight. It may have a red dot but doesn't work like a red dot we use on a gun, which is what we use on the ARD mount.
@@adjustablereddot just put it on a slider.
@@michaelvstheworld3680 it is on a slider
@@adjustablereddot nice
Bro 600$ for this? Wayyy over priced for another 150$ you can get a garmin that has all the functions of this and it has auto ranging
Except it’s not a red dot or a slider
Too much shit to do Jesus
