I've had 2 RMRs fail (flickering dot and dot failed to turn on) so I can't speak to their never fail, ruggedness - Trijicon replaced both no questions asked so can't fault their CS. But, I went to a Holosun 508T and never looked back. They make the best pistol RDS on the market (regardless of price), IMO. For those crying about giving money to the ChiComs, look at the device you're watching this content on (or virtually anything else for that matter).
That last comment always gets me. You seem to know what kind of phone they have. I wonder why? Ohh maybe because you really can’t get the same quality phone from here. That is not the same as getting lower quality stuff from china that you can get made in the US
@@BigSteve34 your last comment always get me. You assume something made over there is “lower quality” and yet you respond on your ChiCom made phone. Name any other decent mobile device that’s made here. Hypocrisy at its finest. And btw bruh, “Made in USA” doesn’t mean what it used to. I challenge you to take a look at “Made in USA” products and see how much of the actual components are made overseas. “Made in USA” companies like Trijicon are now just starting to catch up now to Holosun after sitting on its butt watching them eat their lunch with more features and just as good (if not better) reliability at a way better price. Sorry to butt hurt your justification for paying way more for “Made in the USA” 🤣.
I tried Holosun on my carry glock. It never held zero. I’m guessing it was constantly getting bumped and thrown around. I went back to quality night sights.
Understanding Red Dot Sights: Pros, Cons, and Top Picks Are Red Dots worth it? They have no place for concealed carry. They make concealment harder not easier with added bulk and snag points. For anything else fine but they only serve to make a concealed gun bigger, not smaller, and they add a snag point. They also can lose zero, be subject to impact damage and water damage and they wash out in sunlight. The battery can also fail. The lens is susceptible to all kinds of crud, fogging, and so on. They have their place and work best in ideal conditions but not for concealment.
@@jackglockstarI’m gonna agree with you. They hardly add anything on my shadow systems mr920 elite. I’ve never had it catch on anything when drawing from concealment. That includes wearing a coat, hoodie, or just a shirt. My RMR hasn’t lost zero, the battery last over a year so I just replace it around Christmas time. I also carry it when I’m hunting. Never had the glass so dirty I couldn’t see the dot.
@rrr3r2 correct. Red dots on pistols don't make them harder to conceal. In iwb carry the only part that causes concealment issues is the grip. In owb carry it is the grip and any bit of muzzle that pokes out the bottom of a shirt. Red dot is never an issue. This guy doesn't shoot or carry. He would do well to research that police and even special operations are using them.
@rbm6184 then you would realize you're comment was idiotic. The grip and muzzle are the hard parts of concealment. Never the red dot. It gets in the way of absolutely nothing. Everyone from police to special operations are using them. Even for low vis concealment operations. You simply are wrong in every single thing you said which tells everyone you lack experience.
Red dots. I think me and john wick are the only 2 people left that prefer iron sights 😂😂. Look, if u like them knock yourself out. I don’t have anything against them, they just aren’t for me/not my preference.
On a duty or military gun yes. Plinking at the range, yes. On a conceal carry edc, no. Laser is a much better option for everyday people. Ur not john wick. Ur not defending urself from beyond 10 yards
"Don't buy Chinese knock-offs" Immediately picks up and gives props to Holosun, which are made entirely in China. We learned nothing from covid. Just keep supporting Chinese jobs, Chinese manufacturing and the Chinese economy rather than spending an extra $100 to support American jobs, American manufacturing and Americans.
Always great to get a new video out of Sheepdog HQ :) :) :)
We need more SDR videos like Christopher Walken needs more cow bell😎

Solid guidance and addressing irons purpose too!!
Always love the advice of Matt Smith
He's always got the best advice
Been shooting one for a couple years now, won't go back, just stepped up my game too much.
Always good to step up shooting game 😎
Matt Smith knows a thing or two about a thing or two
Great video!
I gotta get me a red dot 👀
top video! 💯
Made a couple of range trips trying to to use my red dot.. ended up going back to my irons......
Yes, period

I heard Cylee optics are very good as well
Theyre the only thing you should use

Wow. Couldnt disagree more. Its obvious you dont carry a gun and dont own a pistol red dot. 😂
@@jackglockstar Guess again 🤡 I have been shooting and carrying a gun before you were born and you gave no valid reasons against me for disagreeing.

Wow he seriously disrespected the iton sights by comparing them to a compass vs GPS 😂

No. It does not holographic anything. Its a red dot.
Wait it's not a green sight?
