Great tips and as I havent been to a big festival like this , it's good you were saying about not drinking every whisky you recieve . Makes alot of sense . I would be overwhelmed with the amount of whisky on display . Also I loved the lanyard glass holder . Great idea

@@TheKevtro101 Hey thanks for watching and I'm glad it was helpful 😃 If you pace yourself, just have a taste and relax about the whiskies you're missing, it's a rather fun festival! Cheers

what an excellent video…Whisky shows like this where I’m from in Canada don’t exist so I found this very informative 😊

Great video, Sertug, and great tips as well...I couldn't say better about what's important & I share the exact same mindset you have attitude wise (& believe me in 20 years I've seen quite some different ones like some you described) & I'm sure we'll hang out well in a show if we had to, the only difference is that 3 days have become bit too hard for me lately but those 2 last years with 2/3 of presence I did exit the shows with regrets and sometimes struggle to "let go" as you did rightfully so...As you said, we can't do everything humanly, its impossible...also (& I'll come back to it when I'll be in full shape to record a video to report about Whisky Live Paris, the French equivalent of this show) even if you plan carefully to do some stands in priority, one has to stay open to opportunities, friends advise on what not to miss, etc...but yeah, it is about the whisky, but also, never to forget, about people who make it & help to spread the word on stands & it is a hard work (I done it for 3 years at WLP on the pro side as a B.A. for an Australian brand, so I know what it is like) that visitors have to respect (I really enjoyed what you said there). Too bad not enough French stands if you ask me at the Whisky Show, considering the boom of whisky distilleries we have now, but, of course it is also a money issue (even at WLP) for them to attend these big shows & "give away" all their yearly production there, especially for tiny craft distilleries...Anyway, don't wanna be too long but I really enjoyed your report & it is cool you met some barflies as well ! 🔥👏🥃

Thank you for your insight Greg, glad you liked the video.
Yes three days is hard but if one paces one's self it can be managed.
Like in life, you have to be flexible in a whisky show like you said. I did have a plan of which stands to go to first and I was ready to follow the route but it went out the window in the first 10 minutes 😅 I let the show guide me :)
Yes it's very hard for the small producers to come to these shows and give away openly a lot of their products so that's why my aim is to visit the smaller ones more and talk to them more next year.
Looking forward to your Paris video as I have heard conflicting reports on that show. I mostly heard the drams were much better but the service of the drams and the general chaos of the place took away from the quality.
      Cheers 🥃

@@thewhiskyenthusiast Thanks, Sertug ! regarding WLP's welcome, I'd say personnally I had a say 80 % good to great welcome, and the 20 % being mainly last minute people hired to replace the usual people I see (& even within them some were cool) or people hired by big houses with unsufficient training & ethos, and this is for me a bad calculation because where you don't get the good welcome (like you said), you there don't wanna try the company's product any further...Q.E.D....Cheers !

They announced the dates so I think the tickets will be on sale within a few weeks.
