Absolutely agree! The way this adaptation captures the essence of the classic story while combining stunning visuals and captivating narration is truly remarkable. It's wonderful to see such timeless tales being brought to life for new audiences. As the goddess Athena might say, 'Wisdom begins in wonder,' and this adaptation certainly inspires that wonder! 🌟📖
Wonderful telling of Jason and the Argonauts. In some versions, after Media left in a chariot, Jason was mourning his children while visiting the Argo and a rotted timber caused it to collapse on him and thats how he died.
I'm a child of the 80s and I grew up watching VHS tapes with cartoons like these, like Sesame St. and She-Rah. They remind me of a cross between a traditional cartoon and a comic book, with slightly animated picture panels; only the ones I watched had different voice actors for each character. I really enjoy watching these stories, can't wait to see what others are on the channel!
I can totally relate! Those nostalgic cartoons had a unique charm that combined storytelling with vibrant visuals. It's like watching a living comic book! As the goddess Athena once said, "Wisdom begins in wonder," and these tales definitely ignite that wonder. Can't wait to see what other gems this channel has in store! 🌟
Alexander Volkanovski - Rank ..Black belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu under Joe Lopez. Because of his paternal Macedonian and maternal Greek heritage, he uses the nickname "The Great" in reference to Alexander the Great, claiming that he had "a Macedonian father and a Greek mother", similar to himself.
Awesome video as always! Could you make a video on Jowangsin, the Korean goddess of fire, and Lieu Hanh, a goddess and one of the Four Immortals in Vietnamese mythology?
I'm very obsessed and very interested at this point where this instant of medea and Jason just ended up because I'm really interested in media and Jason because you can't really match the aspect of something that I really like not either then they are also a powerful heroes like someone that im interested he's a hero to and very interestingly he's also in the story too😮😮😮😮😅😅😅😅😅😅😅 I surely don't want to get into trouble like that if I was Eva Jason or media and by the way media sounds like Medusa 39:51
The fact that Hollywood hasn't adapted the legends of these characters in any meaningful way has me totally baffled. An argonauts movie could do just as well as an Avengers movie if they did it properly.
Now that we have the Iliad, the Twelve Labors, and now the Argonauts, along with so many heroes in Greek mythology. One story left to see illustrated would be Damon and Pythias.
Absolutely! The bond between Damon and Pythias exemplifies the true essence of friendship and loyalty. It’s a story that deserves to be illustrated and celebrated. As the great god Apollo said, "Love and friendship are the greatest treasures," and this tale certainly embodies that sentiment. It would be fantastic to see it brought to life alongside the other epic stories!
There is a great fable called The Ring of the Niebelungen. Richard Wagner composed 4 operas based on this. Tolkein wrote The Lord of the Rings with this in mind. By all means, check it out.
I know there’s different versions of different tales but the one I’m most familiar with has Jason actually dying when he gets crushed by the rotting hull of the Argo. Like he’s a penniless old man now because of his betrayal of Medea so he just lives on the beach and spends his days sitting beneath the Argo thinking about his past. Well one day the bow of the boat finally breaks and crushes him to death. Which as far as dramatic irony goes feels more satisfying than him simply killing himself.
Piracy was completely stamped out worldwide during the Cold war because the US and the Soviet Union had so many military ships everywhere and it's because of people cutting the US Navy's budget and reducing the size of our fleet even though the Navy warned that was a bad idea that the piracy has now come back
Wow.. That is just disappointing. That one of the greatest “heroes” would leave his wife for someone else while still married?! That is just predatory, Jason listen to me buddy she is WAY YOUNGER THAN YOU!!!
It was in the middle of the labours, that's why the gods ordered him to leave the argos early on because they wanted him to finish his labours instead.
Thats not quite the story as per the Argonautica of Apollonius Rhodius, but its close enough. Someone needs to help the narrator with his pronunciation of greek names. Overall 8 out of 10.
Hi, @Bena-cg8rv Well, because he is better known worldwide as Hercules. Particularly in non-English speaking countries, where he is almost exclusively known as Hercules. So search results, algorithms, clicks and things like that work way better with Hercules.
How about a series of videos dedicated to each of the Argoauts? Tell us why this crew was such an all star team.
👍👍👍
@@SeeUinHistoryI want to know more of the winged brothers Calais and Zetes
Great idea
Still one of the most beautiful adaptation of classic story. Excellent narration, beautiful drawn. Thanks for bringing this epic back to life!
Thanks 😊

Even a Hero can be corrupted, justice comes in unexpected ways. Beautiful illustrations, And clear and narration. Thank you.

But wasn’t the wood magic and never mentioned to rot from the sea, why does it still decay from time? It was only semi magic

Absolutely loved it. Great all the way around, and even though it's a small thing, love how you just get right to it. 👍
This has always been a favourite story of mine and I have always shared it with all my kids ❤❤

When I'm good and ready 😜 JK I have no affiliation with this channel I'm just a random bum
Amazing film has a kid !

A great idea to feature the argonauts one by one.

Cercei was Media’s aunt. She is quite big figure
What the soundtrack at 17: 29
Amo vs Pollux is lowkey similar to George Foreman vs Mohd. Ali

U think that mattered anywhere in the world at that time
Lol.... dude she can do what she wants, stop trying to turn women into possessions
Haha. What's wrong with a couple extra wives?

Jesus, don't break Medea's heart !
This Greek Mythology in Comics is very good unlike the movie "Jason and the Argonauts (1963)"
5:29 uhhh i don't know if bringing him along is a good idea
Saw a hippy w. One sandle, said"hey bro, you lose a shoe?"he said * no bro. I found one!"
Interesting spin on the old “glass half full vs. glass half empty” parable
Spare change??
I love greek mythology annoying know when i clever
First ❤❤❤❤❤
Do you think maybe now you can make an adult version of the real stories instead of a kid version of The greatest stories ever made
The ancient avengers. Tho, more correctly would be that the avengers are the modern version of the argonauts 😂
The team was way too OPed so they nerfed it by taking away Hercules lol.
So it's essentially an avengers type mash up but make it greek :D
His last name was Borne
Was this after Hercules did his labors?
It was in the middle of the labours, that's why the gods ordered him to leave the argos early on because they wanted him to finish his labours instead.
Fire breathing bulls cool
The ancient Greeks sure knew how to do a boys weekend away
Bird droppings ? Really 🤯
"Jason and the Pussycats"
Fairly Oddparents did that parody in an episode.
The og avengers assemble moment lol

Hercules is from roman mythology, i think you meany to say Heracules from greek mythology
No, we really meant to say Hercules. We kind of know a bit about mythology to know about the diferrent translations of names and such
So why don't u say Herakles?
Just wondering

Avengers but mythological.
