I just bought a car, and I found an invoice for the LPD pump at close to $500. I had no idea what an LPD pump was. So I found this video. On another video of someone trying to find a vacuum leak used the blower end of a wet dry vac on the tail pipe and pushed air through the system backwards to find a vacuum leak. I don't know if that's a great idea or not but I just thought I'd add that in here.
Well yes I've used it, but be careful since it sometimes gets too sensitive and point you in the wrong direction. And even if you do find the leak, in the end you need to still test the problem area to prove the leak. For vacuum leaks your best friend is a simple stethoscope with the tip removed and just using a bare hose at it's tip. Move the TS around and you'll eventually hit the leak no problem. A smoke machine also works and useful for EVAP issues, but a bit costly. Thank you.
Hmm... and i'm paying for some guy to rush me through the course the whole time. What an easy video to comprehend. Thank you much , time to pass this test tomorrow. ;)
I dont know exactly, but i remember that my factory handbook said that if there is any bad hoses, replace them and if some pump or something is dirty clean it or replace. I dont remember exact words. I will get my handbook and will post back. I want your opinion on this thats why i would like to figure it out.
Omg, i didn't know it destroys catalytic converter. It costs so much. I must hurry. I have almost new one installed. I don't want it to be destroyed. Thanks for the warning. I will inspect all my hoses now, luckily i have factory manual with all the diagrams.
Warm Greeting, Its more informative also good presentation this my first visit to your web page as myself automobile service person like know more about testing skill this will serve that purpose. Thank you so much
Ok, another question then, just in case you know answer or can give me some advice. I dont have the factory manual at my hands right now but it says that if the pump or some solenoid or something is dirty then clean it or replace it. And it says if there is any dirt somewhere then also clean it. But the question is with what i should i clean it? Compressed air? I know i can inspect all the hoses and let the compressed air through them but what about the more sensitive parts like this pump?
Will this cause stalling on my Dodge Ram? I have the code for the LDP Evap and my engine light is on and the truck stalls sometimes when slowing down. Will that cause it to do that?
hi, i have bought ultrasonic leak detector to detect vaccum leaks, exhaust leaks, have u used this and is it realiable.. i like to take ur advise.. it came with transmitter and receiver to find windshield leak as well, i value ur advise.. please
to the common layperson, an engine light comes on, but there is no nothing wrong with the engine? why doesn't the catalytic converter system have its own warning light?
This is an annoying video... Just give the facts and specs... Don't need all the loud music in the background... The electronic Voice Is Bad Enough... Geeez...

Ok, we went from vacuum leaks to cleaning dirt. Dirt from what? Which system are you referring to?
We appreciate that. Thanks for posting.
Great video and great music, thank you
😁👍
whats the difference from evap pump and evap purge solenoid? this is on a 2002 v6 3.9L dakota. no cracked hoses found.

where is the evap leak detection pump located? on 2012 Volvo S60
Thanks you for sharing.
Ok, the factory manual says you can clean PCV valve. But this is not related to LDP or is it?

Yeah man. Think I got it! Thanks!
PCV and LDP are two different systems.
What if vacuum leaks and i have P1394. Does it makes performance worse or whats the result of vacuum leak I would like to know.

A vacuum leak creates a lean condition. Yes, it will affect the performance of the car and will over time destroy the catalytic converter.
Good for lesson to me
Loose the music man,,,,
Why?
Thank you Stephen Hawking...
