I love the info and your talking bro it’s appreciated! But the video footage is crazy to watch .. can’t do it it’s kinda frustrating but I do appreciate u trying . Thanks
Honda is 80 foot pounds not 90... dropping the brake caliper like that and letting it hang from the hose 😳 yikes. Most videos I’ve watched tie them up and don’t let them drop to take care of the hose. I wonder what’s the labor cost to have this done it looked quick in your video maybe 30 mins of work.
He is on a lift and has experience. That doesn't mean the labor time isn't more. It's amazing that being a tech is the only job where you can have more experience, get more work done and people want to pay you less. Try it on the ground, it will certainly be more than an hour if not at least 2. You will never get the same angles as easily.
Guys buy the seals from the dealership. Save your self time . Auto parts have the same manufacturer for this and they dont fit . just sharing my experience. Hondas .
Could you kindly let me know the part number of the outer transmission seal? if possible, the Amazon link where I can be directed to. Thank you very much!
Yeah in 25 years I've had to replace so many from comebacks lol that line has thousands of pounds of pressure running through it u really think hanging it is gonna hurt think people think , my time in the field speaks for itself you should tell me your channel name so I can learn from u 😉 have a blessed day
So I got a brand new seal leaking, I did have a axle come out and that’s what caused the damage in the first place, I’m tearing the car down now and the transmission will not let the axle come back out
2006 Honda Odyssey EXL. Just finished doing this seal. Seal is available from Amazon for $5 cheaper than dealer. Did not know that because I did not have the part number, so went to dealer. I watched all the UT videos and most did not do a good job explaining the proper seal emplacement. Just sticking it in so it appears level all around does not work. Honda did not do us any favor because the seal recess does not have a stop shoulder inside. So you can easily misplace the seal if you push it in too far. I made a tool to install the seal, but in retrospect totally unnecessary. Just stick the seal in the recess so it does not fall out. Then install the axle and push it in. The axle has a cup that will push the seal in properly. The lip of the seal needs to touch this cup to seal. .
It's a head cam I recocd real time I'm in a shop with other employees I can't set up a tripod and or have a assistant record for me I'm in the field my friend trying to show what it is really like in the real world no need to watch if it doesn't satisfy u
@@automotivetech-vet The camera might have a setting for stability ago that it doesn't jerk around but moves more fluidly. It might help. Just a thought.
Can’t believe you let the brake caliper just hang by the brake line!!
UDIY undo it yourself practice 😆

Going to be doing this on a 11 Element. I'm hoping it will go this easy for me. Good info. Thanks man.
My pleasure
Why wouldn't you get a bungy cord to strap the caliper so it doesn't put strain on the brake line

This is very true.

The part number I gave you is too small for my passenger side I just tried it today... now I have to find another seal. Ugh
Next job is going to be the brake line from leaving the caliper hang like that. 🤦🏻♂️
