    Needing an engine that early might give you pause, but when you sit down and think of it, it really is an anomaly. You rarely hear of something that extreme happening with the B58 and just consider how many of them are out there at this point. Been in production 9-years now and BMW has practically put it in most models they build.

    If you could provide an update of how things have been since this video, that would be great. Honestly, there aren't a lot of people who have such a high mileage on the b58 motor. There are big claims on how reliable this thing will be. You could help all of us by clearing out the fog. Thanks :)

    Same here 16 340i xdrive auto.....with stage 1 BM3 no other mods, everything else stock. some questions for you if you don’t mind.
    I have 37k miles and I go back with my mechanic about when certain things should be done. Ironically I’m the one who thinks certain things should be done earlier and it’s him, the mechanic that says no no no you don’t have to do that until x amount of miles...( which is usually higher mileage than what I hear to do something ).
    1. Transmission fluid change? At what mileage and do you also replace other components related to trans fluid?
    2. Front and rear diff fluids?
    3. Transfer case fluid?
    4. Engine air filter?
    5. Fuel filter?
    6. Coolant?
    7. Intercooler fluid?
    This guy is real nice and he doesn’t charge much for a former bmw dealer tech but I sometimes feel that he will be happy just changing my oil every 5k and leave it at that and never suggest anything else. Now I know b58 generation is reliable but they certainly will eventually need things done I guess.
    Also doesn’t car itself tell me what it needs done through the DME?
    Thx

    • @Juanscars
      @Juanscars  2 года назад

      Hey man! Hope all is well, there is nothing wrong with replacing your fluids early. At your miles you don’t have much to worry about. I would do oil changes every 4,000 miles and the filter everytime specially because you are tuned. I would flush coolant every 40,000 miles fuel filter every 25,000 diff and transfer case every 75,000. I’ll have to check on the air to water cooler I’ve never dealt with it. But you don’t have much to worry about now besides oil filters and oil changes. I’m on a pure 800 turbo now. Car is still running great.
