I am so HERE.
Listening to this destroyed me, not literally, but it just hit me to the core. I'm afflicted with a genetic disease that has advanced to the point of constant pain and isolation. Ren's words so closely mirror my own thoughts and daily battle. Ren has helped in so many ways with coping and pushing through it all, Ren is a treasure.

Love this song. The sample is of Melanie Safka who was massive in the 60s/70s. She was one of only 3 solo female singers who played Woodstock. The other 2 were Joan Baez and Janis Joplin - not bad company. I think I read another rapper (Method Man ?) also used this sample

wow Joe E - you almost made me cry on this one . I had seen this a few times before but I guess I never really listened to it deeply . You brought up some points that really hit home . I hope Ren gets a chance to see your reaction to this one . I know the reaction world is saturated right now so he may not get a chance but we did . When you do Icarus , also consider pairing it with the short BTS film the boys created . It’s on YT and its called « Behind the Push Icarus « . The 4 band members created a film featuring them playing the characters in the music video Icarus . ❤ you Joe e.

Ren is just so authentic and relatable. Also I have heard this song multiple times before and yet oddly enough it hit home more this time when he says his mind is a paradox because he feels lonely yet isolates himself. Maybe I was just more receptive to it this morning. I feel it though. When I am having a particularly bad day and need people the most, I retreat and hope for them to reach out as if they would magically know when it’s a good time for it 🤦♀️ I guess I just don’t want to be a burden. But also I think it’s a result of my insecurities too. Like I desperately wish for someone to be there when I spiral into thinking that no one cares as much about me as I care about them. So while it’s highly unlikely that anyone would reach out in those exact moments, IF they did, it would wipe away those negative lonely thoughts and I really wish that would happen. So I quietly sit in isolated the darkness of my mind. What a silly thing to do…
