Just Ren being Ren. I wonder how he feels now looking back at this as his future self. He must be proud of how far he's come, all that he's achieved and most importantly the improvement in his health from back then. You're right there's plenty of basic stuff to be thankful for that we take for granted that many don't even have.
From his interview with Zack, Ren has come to terms he will likely always be in pain. He said it has been so long and many years with the pain he doesn't really know what his body would feel like without it.
And it hurts my heart how much pain he’s endured. It’s a miracle he survived. So many famous Artists have overdosed on pain medications, antidepressants and sleeping pills. He’s an inspiration ❤REN
@@redheadedneighbor Maybe you don't know Melanie by name but I'm sure you've heard some gems from her, like Ruby Tuesday, Lay Down and Look What They've Done To My Song Ma, to name a few.

I couldn't agree MORE with counting your blessings. I TRULY believe that when you do. They will SURELY multiply. No, you wete not rambling. ❤🤗❤
Ren is such a lovely human being. So fully transparent, open and honest. I always feel he is me and I am him. No one else ever did that before for me. And I think there will be never anyone else like this again. Impossible.
@@redheadedneighbor It's really strange that I feel so deeply about him. Never experienced that strong feeling for a stranger in my entire life. And somehow he doesn't feel like a stranger anymore.
If you're not familiar with it already, the hook here is from a '72 Melanie Safka song also called 'do you believe'. I think you'll like it. Quite a lot.
Grateful for music nerds like yourself. 👍👍 Going to look it up now. Edit: I'm back. Wow. Was she very well known when this was released? I feel peehaps she was the tail end of the folk movement and would have been popular from the 90's onwards.
Great reaction again bonnie lass, the kids a bit special that's for sure. He's turned a 52 year old ex-punk fan Geordie into a Rap fan, how did that happen!?!?

This one's a bit of a hidden gem so am pleased you got to it though I could see it really resonated - that's Ren's gift (or curse lol). I like to think that Ren might revisit this one someday and do a sequel as such with his future self going back to talk to his younger self to "thank" him for not giving up and to reassure his younger self that it all ended up really positively - I think it would be really interesting and tie a nice bow around it all.
Hello my dear readheaded friend!, Ren never fails does he?, hope all is good with you?, ps I know you try very hard to keep your emotions under control, and to be fair, you do quite well at it!, however your bottom lip quivering as it does, always gives you away!, you are a wonderfully sensitive and empathetic human being, and I feel both proud of you and blessed to be part of your Readheaded family!❤xx
Such a brilliant lyricist...I really relate to him having got Crohn's in my early twenties and like Ren's condition it can lock you down and isolate you from the world around you, even though you wander through everyday events. In my sixties now so I find his songs and lyrics very cathartic. I've never been one for glancing over my shoulder too much, but they've helped me process some of the crap times I've been through and I'm sure there are so many more people out there that his artistic talent helps and speaks out to. Thanks for another great review Red, you always brighten up the day ! Some people search for happiness all their lives and the key to it is normally there in those early years when you have so much fun with all your mates. Experiencing life's events with the people you love I think is the very embodiment of happiness.
Ren has been through so much Trauma with his Chronic illness🙏He is explaining exactly what pain he went through in this Song !! & so many other songs whilst helping others who hear his music. He has a very special gift to be able to let this all out in his music far more than any other artist that I have heard before🤟Ren track Living Room Poetry :-) Unreleased Track🤓
Hi there Redhead! I love your heart ❤. I too think Kenny Rogers speaks to your soul. Have you heard one of his final songs called "Goodbye"? It pulls at your heart strings. Keep up the positive vibes. Peace from AZ!!
No need to worry about talking more in the video, if we wanted to watch the song with no talking there’s a link for that lol - I appreciate the videos where you talk more and give more of your perspective! 😊
My VERY first thought was... It's DOLLY!! (obviously it's not, but that was an instant visual) Okay... When we get deeper into the lyrics, WOW. "Very Ren." Absolutely. One MORE line for the ages... "I'm a paradox. I feel so alone, yet I isolate myself. It's no one's fault but my own." Holy Blank! That is just SO profound. As you so well stated, this man is an artist in the musical realm as well as the poetic realm. He's more than a lyricist. When you said, "always be kind to people..." I'm pasting a comment I made on the official "Hi Ren" video after hearing it a bunch of times. see if we don't have similar thoughts..... "Genre? What genre? REN is a genre. I have listened to this more than a dozen times now... both this official version and through reactions. Not to sound overly dramatic, but I will treat people (known and strangers) more gently, more softly, and with more respect after experiencing this amazing work of art. Thank you Ren. You had a positive impact on my life." Yes, I'd say he is a certifiable phenom. Great reaction young lady!!
I think I edited since you first read it. I often post, then edit, then post... in real time as I'm listening. You replied even before I was DONE!! LOL
@@redheadedneighbor That's the original hook, but, I think Ren used/sampled/heard the remix by Phoniks of WuTang Clans - Back in the game. That's almost identical.
