I got my dog as the defendant did. I was asked to watch the puppy (6 weeks old) for a week. 3 months later he came and got her. A week later I went to check on the dog. He worked and partied all the time. The poor thing was in an enclosed patio, summer, almost dead. I broke in took the dog to the vet. 3 months later he called to tell me the dog got out that morning. I told him what I did, he said he'd be right there to get the dog. I said "take me to court". That was 15 years ago and she's still going strong ... In my home. Spoiled. Loved. Happy.

She says "I'm her mother", but she left her with someone else for two years, and only refers to her as "the dog". Does she not know the name of "the dog"?

So I had a similar situation like this but when I asked the lady to watch my dog, I told her it would be a month and then I’ll come back once we settled in with the move. I signed a contract and offered her payment. Brought food, his toys and some extra things if he needed it. Went every week to see my dog. It may have been for an hour or 2 but i made sure to see him. Had a slight hiccup with the move and called her if she can watch him for another 2 weeks and that I will provide payment for it. Finally got settled at the new house and went to pick up my dog. It’s not hard. I get that things come up but you got a dog and you have to be responsible for it. If you ask someone to take care of your responsibility then do the right thing.

  • @dfa3366

There was a similar case I think on People’s Court where a woman took her dog to a kennel and never picked it up. The kennel owner found a home for it months later and I think a year later the previous owner came to pick the dog up. She land up suing the kennel but she lost. She abandoned the dog.

A 110lb dog is the weight equivalent of 2 eight-year old kids or a 4'10" teen! As a 'mother' the plaintiff abandoned her 'baby' in favour of the boyfriend whose dog wanted to eat the baby; and now wants to sue the 'foster mother' for the return of the fully grown teen. It's clear she has no concept of how morally and legally wrong she is, but luckily her 'baby' found a lovely home

I went to Germany for a month with my husband to visit his family and I took my labrador with me his ticket, vet visit, chip, etc cost more than our tickets, apiece, but I took him. I planned to take my 2nd pup but she was 2 anxious 4 plane ride so I left her with my mom at my house and my mom stayed with her at my home. I left my 2nd 1 with someone I trusted in home she knows because I felt like taking her would not be in her best interest due to her anxiety. I have 2 now that I leave with my mom only due to family emergencies, funeral, etc out of town. I myself couldn't go 2 days without seeing my pups because I couldn't handle it much less them not being able to handle it.

What a great way to make sure your dog has adequate care and attention in her dying days-getting a new puppy! What an idiot. So eager to replace the dog she couldn’t even wait until it was dead.

Anyone who thinks getting a dog fixed is , "an unneeded medical procedure." Should NOT have a dog

Does the plaintiff know what spaying actually is and why it's important?? If not the defendant, the plaintiff would have ended up spaying a much older dog and consequently make the procedure much more complicated.

even when I had to leave my old dog at a housing for a week for a family death out of state, I still texted the kennel owner daily to get pictures and updates. I couldn't go two whole weeks without knowing what's going on with my dog

So this woman had this Great Dane for a couple of weeks as a puppy. She gave this dog to her friend, who then kept the dog for TWO YEARS because the original owner's boyfriend had a dog and the two dogs didn't get along. During that time, she has providing NOTHING in the way of financial support for this dog. As far as the dog is concerned, the defendant is her owner. She's the one that the dog has bonded to and she has taken care of this dog since she got her. I absolutely agree with Judge Judy's ruling. If the plaintiff had wanted her dog that badly, she would have gotten the dog back when they moved in 2016. The defendant even SAID "take your dog back."

🤣🤣🤣 “I visited the dog she came up to me & kissed me”. Dogs don’t kiss on people the way people kiss on people, I’m not a vet or a scientist but even I know that!

Maybe don't buy a dog if you don't have a house or plan to move in with someone that can't have that dog. Crappy owner. Also, pretty sure her Xanax has kicked in lol
