Mods that is enough to make minecraft Immersive for me: - Distant Horizons - Patrix's Resource pack - Rethinking Voxels - Dynamic Surroundings - Leawind's Third Person - Fresh Animation - Not enough animation
Personally, I don't even need texture packs to feel immersed, all I need is a good shader pack, and some mods that make the game feel actually whole lmao, like render distance optimizers, ambient particles, a better generation simulator that doesnt make the world feel flat, and quality of life changes.
btw, from a technical perspective, the reason rethinking voxels has such nice shadows is this: the shrimple texturepack uses a simple shadowmap technique. this requires one rendering pass and is fps-friendly. any surface that isn't "visible" to a light emitter is shaded in shadow. so the light emitter is from a single point. this is the reason all the shadows are HARD shadows with no soft edge. however, in real life and in game, light sources have a surface area, they're not a single point. so as you get further away, there is a gradually decrease surface area of the light emitter that can "see" the surface, so you can notice that shadow edges get SOFTER as you get further away from the subject that the shadow is being cast by. a simple way to approximate this effect is called "percentage-closer soft shadows" and is a technique that rethinking voxels implements. you can notice that shadows get softer the futher away it goes, and its a clever sampling trick that's used. however, this does require you to sample the shading from an area around the shadow so it has an FPS cost.

You should create a modpack with all the mods you use in your videos! That way, we could easily download and play with the same stuff you show in the video.
You missed the biggest immersion-breakers in Minecraft: Interfaces. People don't experience the world in interfaces, they experience them in chests where they put objects into & out of. etc. So the mods that take (at least somewhat, sometimes incompletely) care of such things are - Antique Atlas - Create - Immersive Engineering - Horse Power - Immersive Craft (most of all)
10:03 hm... immersive.... and impossible to play once all the functional gameplay mods are installed into it increasing the load _(while also probably making cross compat issues with an number of those "immersion mods" unless they have really good auto-detection)_ . :V maybe one day I'll break the bank and have a PC with powers beyond mortal understanding that can do both content and visuals... but until then, I can only dream. otherwise these pretty installs will basically just be only good for looking at, not playing...
I mean I think he literally started this off with like "hey we're going for a vanilla feel" so that kind of solves your whole "erm actually I can't use gameplay mods with this" lmao. A while back I made the jump to a good PC and it's been fun doing this to spice up vanilla while having a real mod pack on the side to have other stuff to try out.
@@HannibalBeerus73 and thats the thing, "vanilla" is lacking for me. Doesn't matter how nice it looks. So making that point is moot. It might aswell be an art installation. Theres several mods I usually can't make a pack without just as a start, mobility, quality of life, combat and mechanic changes, then you need stuff to do with them too. You might say I've ruined the base game for myself, and you'd probably be right
You can make game look very good, and have high fps. Just takes time to tweak shader settings for performance and visuals, bsl on low settings gives high fps
@@mtauta maybe I'm clueless, but with the amount of mods I use I often use the more conservative or low level presets if shader comes with them, but the amount of fps consumption is still visible enough to see a difference in how often I get a potentially destructive lag burst and such. I give up with this nonsense. After wasting an entire weekend trying to get this mess to work, I've come to realize that even if you were to download the exact version mods, as well as their dependencies, some of these mods simply refuse to work together. I've never felt anger whilst modding a game before but after trying everything from modding for different versions of minecraft to swapping between forge and fabric. It does lag when joining a world and also it crashes when creating a world if I don't go through and shut off all the background programs running
@@PrestonGarvey69 how
@@Power0184 it's a 2gbvram nividia laptop I tore the motherboard out of and I have minecraft on a m.2 slot with 16gb ram and I deleted the battery and got a external monitor to conserve power for the gpu since I clocked it out at 10% and have left it running for two years since if I turn it off it'll take me hours to turn it back on since static electricity builds up in it like flies on shit
I'd like to see a whole gameplay with this. It would be so interesting to look at, even though your pc would problably blow up.
this video lagged my pc
rethinking voxels, the newest version that's compatible with distant horizons, does have dynamic handheld lighting. it has to be enabled in the "lighting" settings though.
You forget the classic: Physics mod
could not be compatible with animations mod and texture pack, that mod is very picky and works best on vanilla
@@uncolored2060 no it work with those it works really well just not compatible with shrimple
@@uncolored2060 just use itemphysic lite. not to complicated, but it makes all your item actually drop on the ground.
You should create a modpack with all the mods you use in your videos! That way, we could easily download and play with the same stuff you show in the video.
PLS drop the pc specs
A nuclear reactor
You missed the biggest immersion-breakers in Minecraft: Interfaces. People don't experience the world in interfaces, they experience them in chests where they put objects into & out of. etc.
So the mods that take (at least somewhat, sometimes incompletely) care of such things are
- Antique Atlas
- Create
- Immersive Engineering
- Horse Power
- Immersive Craft (most of all)
sobs in pocket edition 😭
9:35 It does have entity shadows, it's just disabled by default in settings for what I assume is performance reasons.

I love how good this Skyrim update looks XD
10:03 hm... immersive.... and impossible to play once all the functional gameplay mods are installed into it increasing the load _(while also probably making cross compat issues with an number of those "immersion mods" unless they have really good auto-detection)_ .
I'll have to revisit it with less intensive modpacks.
are you upset you don't have a PC powerful enough to play with these mods so now your going to say it 'takes from the vanilla experience' he said at the beginning of the video it's going to make your computer hot hinting at the fact it's going to be difficult to run.@@DarkmegaGaming
"it will make you feel like you're actually eating something" - *25 porkchops later* MAKE IT STOP
I give up with this nonsense. After wasting an entire weekend trying to get this mess to work, I've come to realize that even if you were to download the exact version mods, as well as their dependencies, some of these mods simply refuse to work together. Perhaps you should specify that beforehand. I've never felt anger whilst modding a game before but after trying everything from modding for different versions of minecraft to swapping between forge and fabric. NOTHING gets these damn mods to work properly unless there's something incredibly obscure that I've somehow missed. Enough frustration for a lifetime.
Lol u fell for it
I only had to spend a couple hours switching out mods for older versions of those mods for them to be compatible, it wasn't very difficult.
It's a heavily modded client. There's gonna be compatibility issues. Deep breaths. It's worth it.
They do work together tho, you just didn’t install the correct versions. You’re acting like there’s nothing you can do out of ignorance.
@@horseradish3034 Hi, you look like you know what you're doing, how can i fix the patrix 32x resourcepack loading fail with continuity mod problem? I've seen some reddit post about 'enabling the resource pack in folder' but I have no clue what they meant. Much thanks!
Edit: I fixed it nvm
I love that thumbnail so much, gives me MonsterCrafter vibes
Yo I found this awesome datapack that completely overhauls minecraft. Its called sengoku (I found it on planet mc) and is is so cool now everything is samurai themed mobs are different biomes are different even the nether and end I think.

Love the easy to run and reliable shaders and mods for low power integrated graphics PC's! 🥰
9:23 ted the caver simulator 2024
Gotta love the thousands of squids piling up at the start of the video.
0:05 Nice horse collection on the right there.
You really should have added parcool, its movement is unmatched IMO, looks great, and its actually within reason for a person to do most of the stuff
I'd definitely leave out the camera movement you had. The unlevel bouncing of it was making my head spin 😅
But everything else was absolutely epic!
LUL i got this working, minus like one sound mod, and distant horizons. added paraglider, waystones. sad my rethinking voxels flickers in caves, but sildurs extreme with VL is a find sub. thanks for this list! it was a good time adding all these.
2 videos in a WEEK?
this is revolutionary
jeez, my pc cant even handle watching this video with all these visual mods and stuff
Ahaha! I may not have an appropiate pc yet, but thank you for showing me where to look for. Awesome vid youtuber AsianHalfSquat!
Idk why I even watch these vids as I’m on playstation but I’m staying. (Especially since you’re doing something related to the Elden Ring DLC)
6:00 yo i definitely need the audio mods!
[sadly i think the other beautiful mods will kill my pc tho]
but "terralith" and "yung´s.." i also consider
its nice to see minecraft like this, ty for the video
7:52 dang, dont do me like that
