Oddly enough, Immersive Portals blew my mind more than I had expected (it's the first time I saw a mod for that purpose). It really does bring the portal immersion to a whole other level.
I love making TARDIS-like houses. Like they're 4×4×4 blocks and then the portal at the door leads to another dimension, and you build a massive house there. So your house is bigger on the inside

I use Optifine + SEUS PTGI HRR 3 + Patrix Resource Pack 1.19 128x Textures this includes Ray Tracing. It looks absolutely amazing. Probably even better than this videos examples. But that is up to personal preference. Only issue is it pushes my RTX 4080 to the limit. I get like 30-60 FPS. However I do play at render distance 48 chunks.
Same page, it was always my dream for portals to someday look like that but I didn't think they would ever be able to load two dimensions at once until then🤯
I wonder how much it affects performance. It has to load both dimensions whenever you're just near the portal. I only have to worry about this stuff because I game on a MacBook Air.
Stay True is exactly what I've always wanted from a resource pack: something new that doesn't make it look like it's a new game. Just a fresh coat of paint.
I was in awe at how pretty that looked... then he turned around and I saw wacky waving arm enderman and burst out laughing and woke up my housemates XD
You briefly mentioned that OptiFine contains more features than the sodium-iris combo. There is a mod pack called Fabulously Optimized which is just a collection of mods (including sodium and iris) selected to replicate OptiFine but for Fabric. So among other things you get the zoom, the dynamic lighting, the option for shaders, and a lot of quality of life things, eg. The game stays open when you alt-tab, better settings, etc. And all the things can be configured so you have way more control than in Optifine. You can change the way the zoom works, you can have torches not give of light underwater, etc. Overall a super nice all in one pack for people who likes OptiFine but wants to use Fabric.
how do you add all the sounds packs while having fabulously optimized as well? im trying to do it through the curseforge fabric installer, would that work?
@@NicoSmedley Yeah, that shouldn't be problem, unless curse forge decides they are incompatible. I just tend to copy paste mods into my mod folder, which is not recommended as it is a pain. But as long as curse forge says they are compatible then all should be fine.
@solaris7672 there are two mods I know that allows the optifine resources packs to work called ETF "Entity texture features" and EMF "Entity model features"
8:00 Immersive Portals is incompatible with Distant Horizons, so if you still had that installed that'd be where some of the issues stem from. It's actually incompatible with a surprising number of mods.

I already had most of these from some of your previous videos, but the 'legendary tooltips' mod I something I never knew I wanted so badly. would definitely want a part 2 to this!
An absolutely satisfying mod for me personally is called Not Enough Animations. It adds some new animations for stuff that actually needed it quite a bit, so be sure to give it a look. Another mod from the same author is called Wavey capes, i think that the name is pretty self explanatory. The last mod I thought of was 3D Skin layers, pretty cool mod if you ask me but probably not for everyone
Honestly I like a lot of these but as the video progressed I found myself saying "this doesn't feel like Minecraft to me anymore" which is when I know to stop modding lol. Great video
And why does it need to feel like minecraft at all, if it's just a over all more satisfying, immersive, and more enjoyable game. While in fact all the key minecraft features can't be taken away anyway. Square, mine, build, evolve, explore. just 100 times less Dull. with 100 times more content.
The Sound Physics mod is one of the most satisfying mods, and would go great with the other audio mods you listed. The reverb in caves with hostile mobs really makes the underground feel way more vast and terrifying :)
This genuinely felt like Minecraft became a high development budget open world game. I’ve watched plenty of videos like these and although many of those mods were impressive, they never gave me the same feeling as the ones you’ve featured. theres a mod called "advancement plaques" or however you spell that. you don't need the toast mod (except for tutorial stuff that's just a bit annoying) and it just makes it SO much more satisfying whenever you gain advancement. it gives you a little box at the top center of your screen thats visually appealing and has some nice sounds
