you know why its running so well? because its not actually rendering the chunks, its essentially turning the chunks into LOD meshes and overlaying them to kind of create an illusion basically. (at least I think thats how distant horizons works, something of the sort)

Just patrix alone is a completely new feel to minecraft. It's the best resourcepack I have ever played. Add any shader on top and you have something incredible (I use complementary). Wasn't able to make patrix + shaders + distant horizon work together YET, perhaps I'll give it another try now that the issues I had might be no more. Great video.

honestly i like the 32x pack the most because the low resolution makes everything feel cohesive. 256x version looks like different images next to each other that dont exactly belong there. like the edges between blocks are super clear or smth idk. looks weird and even kinda takes away some of the realism imo.

One thing that you might like is terrallith It’s an amazing mod ands fully compatible with tectonic It just adds new biomes like volcanic or hot springs, it also overhauls trees So it changes colour with the biomes
I run "Terralith" with "Biomes O Plenty" and "Oh the Biomes You'll See." Throw in Terratonic in place of Tectonic ( a bit more tuned for working with these) and You get some Amazing Worlds. I currently use those as the basis for a Mod pack that i have almost all the bugs worked out of. It sits at 182 Mods and Newly created worlds spawn in under 3 minutes. Preexisting ones come up in 1. (I'm not even running a current super computer. X-99A motherboard, I7-5250, 64GB of RAM running on 4 Channels and an AMD 6600. The game is saved to an SSD and runs smooth.)
Damn, it ended up looking so much like REAL LIFE, I had to do a double take on many occasions. It almost looked like a family vacation video taken in the French Pyrenees! Incredible! 😒
My PC is almost 10 years old and i am happy that i can run Distant Horizons (albeit with 10+ performance mods). Absolutely amazing, completely different game
try the fabulously optimized modpack on forge, took me from 60fps with the lowest settings on 8 render distance to 400-500 fps on fancy settings and 12 render distance
9:00 For the waves i recommend you to try other shaders, the physics mod waves need to be "made compatible" by hand in each shader, in Photon's case it isn't compatible so the waves won't look correct, i would recommend BSL or Bliss since those have Physic's mod compatibility
For people wondering, using the distant horizons with a not so heavy shaders and terrain generation mod is possible with a rtx 3060 ti/4060. The real problem is cpu, at least 12 cores i recommend.
Remember scene aware colored lighting? I found a mod that adds that back into Complementary Shaders! It’s called Euphoria Patches. It’s made by isuewo and SpacEagle17. Maybe you could include it in your next video like this!
It's an amazing difference, but I knda like the look of vanilla Minecraft, it's partly why I bought it in the first place. I've been playing video games since they were invented, and this one has a certain charm to it with its nostalgia inducing retro look and modern mechanics. If I knew how to install mods, the only one I would have is the distant horizons, a longer sight line would be helpful for navigation.

Our giga chad computers can handle most AAA game graphics including Ark Survival Ascended but the moment you whip out a 250+ texture pack your computer acts like a bee landed on it lol I feel this pain but imagine hosting at the same time...bonfire.
Most likely you were running into frame issues with the 256x pack because you also have the render distance mod. Render distance is a thing exactly for that reason, it's for performance.
Pro tip: use Hard top Vanilla accurate pack(perhaps pixxl or something I can’t recall) at 2k or 1k to get the absolute beast of 3d +pbr minecraft textures at ultra HD

I used all these on my laptop It looked amazing But I wish that I could download the boats which you build yourself and you can swim with it in realistic ocean, while physics mod does provide the ocean physics, you can't swim with your own built ship, which would be awesome Shaders and textures look cool, I tested everything, but I wanted more And no, my laptop wasn't a toast, FPS went from 144fps to 90fps Which was still very playable It was very stable and did really well all the time Cpu didn't reached more than 60°C And GPU didn't reached more than 65°C Mostly keeps at 50-60°C

The creator for the Physics mod is also working on converting that deformation to Sand and mud as well

But I wish that I could download the boats which you build yourself and you can swim with it in realistic ocean, while physics mod does provide the ocean physics, you can't swim with your own built ship, which would be awesome
Shaders and textures look cool, I tested everything, but I wanted more
And no, my laptop wasn't a toast,
FPS went from 144fps to 90fps
Which was still very playable
It was very stable and did really well all the time
Cpu didn't reached more than 60°C
And GPU didn't reached more than 65°C
Mostly keeps at 50-60°C
I'm not sure but from the default+DH it looks like you don't have nosium which helps with distant horizons
