  • In this video it is time for my annual challenge to try and photograph as many species of birds as possible in 3 days. My previous record is 37 species and I achieved this last year. I can only count birds that I photograph and they must be photographed within a mile radius of where I live. Watch to find out how many species I managed to photograph this year.
Hope you enjoy this video and your photography

Hi Darrell Congratulations on beating last years bird count. The Starling photo was amazing. Your new Vlogging camera is a lot clearer and the colours seem more natural. Thanks Jon and Sandra

I have just tried a video with one of my prime lens and it was even better. Too heavy to us all of the time.

An astounding number of different birds you managed to photograph there! Excellent! A very entertaining video too, and I must say, that Z8 is brilliant for bird photography. (I think I might have said that before but it never fails to impress me with the image quality.) Great video, thanks for sharing.

Many thanks! Next year will be more challenging. I don’t know how many times I can increase the count. I really like the Z8 more than the D850.

It started as a reaction to lockdown. We could only walk within a mile of where we live. So it has continued as an annual tradition.
