Hi Darrell Great shot of the Bittern. The Reed Warbler was nice to see as well. The hides look very comfortable to sit in. Thanks Jon and Sandra

It is a great place I may re-visit later in the year to see if I can photograph the bearded tits again.

Glad you saw the Bittern 👍 your Herring Gull is actually a Lesser Black-backed Gull, Herring would have much paler grey mantle 👍

Can it be a great black backed? The bill looks quite heavy and it was quite a lot of white in the tip of the wings...

I tend not to use auto ISO I stick with aperture priority. There are occasions I might use it in changeable lighting conditions or if higher shutter speed is required.

Thanks for the video, Darrel. Did you think that maybe the 100-400mm was a little on the short side for some of the shots you took ? I am agonising over the choice between that and the 180-600mm for my Z8 and bird photography. I know it is not an S lens but the reviews and price are excellent although the weight is a little much for me, perhaps.

I do agree it is short. The 180-600mm wasn't released when I got the 100-440. I am hoping to get the 180-600 in the near future.

@@DarrellOakdenPhotography Ah, that makes sense, thank you. I think I will go for the 180-600 then and put up with the extra weight ! Thanks again. Look forward to seeing what you can achieve with the longer lens when you get it !
