(SPOILERS) Because of Joker Folie a Deux right? It was more Aurthur 2 instead of Joker 2. And Joker getting killed off ruins what could've been a continued franchise.
Personally, I think Nicholson is the best Joker. He's the embodiment of chaos, more than Heath who uses it to make a point. Nicholson just hops from one thing to another. He's more unpredictable and sometimes even to himself, like he doesn't even know what he'll do.
True, also if I remember correctly, could check, true, but trying to use my brains (haha!)... Weren't those the ones directed by Tim Burton? The ones with Michael Keaton? 'Cause Burton has a style that matches perfectly with what Nicholson likes to do, and curiously enough, perhaps not as much as with Keaton's style, which seems to follow more of a dogmatic/classic type of school.
The Joker is a great movie, but seeing Ledger's Joker was like seeing the character for the first time. Ledger's performance was captivating in a way very few performances are able to be, whether in a comic book movie or not.
Joaquin is the best joker....to me..i love the joker, all versions..(not leto) but Phoenix is my favourite but Heath had better frightening make up 👍🏻🃏
The best Joker is Health Ledger, because he is unpredictable. The others are Joke only, because they are normal people who turn themself to be crazy people. They are not scary enough because they are predictable.
Joaquin Phoenix wanted to play Joker due to Heath Ledger's phenomenal acting, Heath is literally the embodiment of Joker, closest we can get to the actual Joker.
The actors who all have portrayed the Joker bring their own uniqueness to the character. Ceasar Romero doesn't get enough credit for his version. There are some things he did in the tv series that I really liked even though it was a comedy. My only gripe about Jared Leto's version is that they made his tattoos look too cartoony, making him look silly at times. His strongest scenes are when he's with Harley Quinn and I think that dynamic separates him from all of the other Jokers. For Joaquin Phoenix, he portrayed the most tragic version of the Joker. You really end up feeling bad for the guy and empathizing with him. Jack Nicolson was very good and at times frightening, not enough people talk about his version either. The scene I love the most is when he is in the art museum. To me, the scariest man in Hollywood will always be Jack Nicolson. As for Heath Ledger, everyone considers his version to be the best portrayal of the Joker. I believe the director wanted to keep his world based on reality, and audiences really picked up on that. He has some of the most memorable lines in The Dark Knight, which is probably one of the greatest superhero movies ever made. The unpredictability of his nature, the agent of chaos.
Nicholson was faithful to Romero's version. Joaquín Phoenix was acting on another level. The problem is that his rendition won't work in a franchise without looking shoehorned. Was a 1 (amazing) movie thing. Heath Ledger did a great job _for the masses,_ which isn't a bad thing, because a successful movie creates income and thus, more movies which create a lot of job opportunities. Didn't see Jared Leto's, nor any other one so can't comment.
Ledger's Joker seemed almost entirley-at least aesthetically- taken from Brandon Lee's 'The Crow'. I really liked the way he took that Crow aesthetic and manner and re-purposed as Joker. There is its own brilliance in repurposing a great idea. Phoenix's Joker is a completely different thing. Borrowing heavily from Scorcesi's Taxi Driver, There's no real malice in him. He's just asking the question: What did you expect? What should society such as it is-expect when people who suffer with mental illness, the least well equipped to deal with indifference and cruelty must face this world so alone and with that level of disregard? Phoenix's Joker is a basically good and gentle person who was simply pushed beyond his ability to cope. The rest are just kind of silly. They served their purpose as the foil of Batman.
Heath Ledgers is the best hands down, and at a extremely close second is Jack Nicholson. Both did so well at being joker, honestly the others i couldn’t really watch. I only stuck around for Suicide Squad because i loved Margot Robbie’s Harley. And yes I’m a female and don’t think Jared Leto was the best. I don’t think he was awful, but def not the best.
That was the excuse. It's called PR damage control. The dude nailed all the accolades, went too far with substances, and yeah, that's why he died. But the version about his efforts in... acting, which was his job, had a lot more traction than simply saying the truth, as it happened some 20 years earlier with River Phoenix.
While I enjoy the movie and the character, I genuinely don’t consider that character the joker. Literally, u change the title of the movie, no one would consider him the joker.

Leto was bad. But next worst was Ledger. How can you expect to be the Joker if you never tell any jokes? Sorry, you can be seriouously scary and a Joker at the same time, but Ledger never delivered any jokes, not even puns. Romero had the best laugh. For that, he's ahead of Nicholson, but both had the most accurate portrayals to the comics. Phoenix wins, because he's the only one who ever made me feel any sympathy for Joker, ever made me actually root for him.
Well, I guess we can still miss the elephant in the room, don't we?) One of the missing but quite exotic and believeable perfomances of Joker was by Camerom Monaghan in Gotham series as Jerome & Jeremiah Valeska. Highly recommended to take a look at this brilliant approach)
Joaquin Phoenix has easily done a better job he made Joker worth re-watching & his performance was captivating. Heath Ledger in The Dark Knight doesn't do that.
Nicholson's Joker- most accurate to the comics Ledger's Joker- most "realist" based on comics Phoenix Joker- reeetarded overly realistic/unrealistic take of the potential character. Mentally challenged virgin living with his mother suddenly becomes a super villian capable of rivaling Batman. Yeah, not gonna happen.
Update: now it's officially confirmed, Health Ledger
hell yeah
(SPOILERS) Because of Joker Folie a Deux right? It was more Aurthur 2 instead of Joker 2. And Joker getting killed off ruins what could've been a continued franchise.
Heath Ledger without any Doubt - Awesome performance, RIP Heath !!!!!
It’s Heath Ledger, Joaquin Phoenix said Heath Ledger is the reason he wanted to play the joker.
Heath ledger IS the best one. Jack Nicholson is a close 2nd best. In my opinion.
Agreed
Jack Nicholson was shite. It was just Jack Nicholson being Jack Nicholson with make up on.
Heath ledger was the Joker - the rest are just clowns. Phoenix's joker is ruined by the sequal.
The joker movies were trash. Phoenix don’t got shit on Ledger

Sadly, was a Legend. Best Joker of all, imho.
Yes he was a legend indeed.
The Joker is a great movie, but seeing Ledger's Joker was like seeing the character for the first time. Ledger's performance was captivating in a way very few performances are able to be, whether in a comic book movie or not.
gotta give to Joaquin on that one then Hamill.
Cesar Romero with that iconic laugh will always be the classic Joker.
The absolute BEST!!!
Joaquin phoenix or heath ledger for me
It is excellent that they both won awards for their Joker performances. Both were well deserved 👏
@@michellebiland5163yes but Heath was Just darker and more entertaining
Phoenix is worst Joker out of all of them, he doesn't represent joker in any way or form he was just a broken lonely man with a mental illness.
Heath Ledger makes you think that the Joker is a real person.
Jared leto would have been a great Joker if they did a full movie with him after suicide squad. And in part 2 of S. Q. Bring him back people!!
Joaquin is the best joker....to me..i love the joker, all versions..(not leto) but Phoenix is my favourite but Heath had better frightening make up 👍🏻🃏
So true! Joaquin is the best!
Heath Ledger's Joker is the best of all time. Period.
nah. Joaquin and Mark Hamil are also fantastic
Joaquin Phoenix
Heath ledger

Great summary!
@@thelonewolf1894 Jack is crazy in everything he does. And he's always very good at it.
Heath ledger was a perfect blend of both comic and real life.
Heath no doubt, make up, suits, performance he was off the chain.
Willem Dafoe would've made a terrific Joker. No jokes about it. This is not a pun.
Both Phoenix and Ledger did great. But Ledger did more mad man joker.
Puff Daddy when he dress up as him for Halloween...his performance was better than any Joker by far...
Can’t believe people missed that one smh
But he's not The Joker, he's The Diddler.
Nicholson was faithful to Romero's version.
