Obviously not what you are gonna think it is but it's as close to a sci-fi visor you can actually get so this is technically a fucking visor display like out of science fiction it's still worth looking into the FOV is 120" degrees it sounds promising though I might look into it.
I feel like they'd need to move into stores like Walmart or target and have a section dedicated to it. A place to try the glasses at the very least. I would definitely be interested
It's not 4k - it's "doubled" 1080p (according to the specs I've read.) (a single 1080p screen for each eye.) It's also 60hz not 75 (again, according to what I could find on the web.) Is it possible to launch multiple web browsers and arrange them where you want? Also, it's not a 120" field of view as that isn't how you measure field of view. It is measured in Degrees, I believe this is 42. ALSO, YES, on the latest software and with the correct phone you can create multiple web browsers and place them where you want in your field of view. They will remain "stationary" based on the gyro's in the headset. Not SENSORS at the top and "the screen" in front of your eyes. As the chart you pasted clearly shows, it's all a reflection in front of your eyes. The screen is actually where you claim "the sensors" are (which admittedly probably does contain a gyro.) AND FINALLY - the adapter you show is the exact OPPOSITE of what you'd need. Geeze, you'd think that getting free glasses and a 3D printed dude would make you do a little more research. :)
I think when AR is fully mainstream people will probably be able to run many games at once. Imagine just always being able to see pokemon go while your about your life.. without needing to load the app constantly :o
You did not mention in the review that when connected directly by cable to any Android phone it must have "DEX Support" built-in otherwise the Rokid Air is incompatible and will not turn ON at all ! You were lucky that your Android phone is the Samsung S21 which does offer the feature, but apparently few Android phones have it. Otherwise, apparently you could always use the adapter, not an ideal solution as you pointed out.
If they had cameras and a toggle that I could adjust the transparency of the real world with the full screen that would be cool. What's the run time on the glasses? Can it plug into a windows computer? Is there a battery pack available that could clip onto my belt? If it is powered by my phone then Rokid is a hard no - I won't buy if it drains my phone in an hour or two. Basic video glasses doesn't need SLAM or mini-speakers. Just power and connection to the video source. I'll watch for the next generation Rokid. Thanks for the review!

@@OT4Tech 4k is 4x 1080, or to put it another way, 1080 is 1/4 (25%) of 4k. 2x 1080 is 3840x1080, or 1920x2160, depending on orientation. But the point was stereoscopic 3d, that would be pretty neat!
@TheRfmodulator 1080p per eye is pretty good resolution because to get the angular resolution u have to devide it by the fov which is 43 degrees most likely diagonally....if it was 110 degrees fov like a vr headset the pixels per degree count will be on the low side and u will have a screen door effect

I got to buy a pair and I like them I have seen how massive the screen display is for AR and I am trying to get ahold of a compatible device for the phone so far BlackShark 4 Pro is on the list and I am thinking about snatching one up because it's the closest price range in my budget the only issue is Netflix is not working and is a black screen same with hulu. Using MiraScreen app is not as hard as it looks either. It would be an awesome device for Netflix and Hulu but I want to know why it's only a black screen you can still watch VUDU Streaming on it though and maybe some Funimation why it goes black on Hulu and Netflix is beyond me. It definitely does have potential but if they can make it an all in one device like Lenovo failed doing then Rokid Glass would take another leap into the future if they adopted Lenovo's All in One AR Headset. Excellent review of the Rokid AR, I saw an Amazon app on Instagram. I have 40,000 pictures and screenshots on my 500GB Sandisk MicroSD card, I always wanted a big screen to look at them. Unfortunately, my Samsung 8-inch tablet is too slow to load the pictures. I can use my Samsung F20 phone which is faster and the Roku to look at my pictures on the big screen. Pictures of people, statues, and cars are ok to look at on cell phones but pictures of the inside of a house or reading a scan PDF page is better on a big screen. The Rokid is a great invention.

Well not happy about the lack of slam, but with 3dof it's still good for media consumption. Big points for the wireless adapter and the fact you can unplug the cable from the glasses so it can be used as regular glasses. For the wireless adapter, with this also work if - instead of the rokid glasses - I plug other displays or glasses with USB c cables to mirror my phone?

Statue Casey 🤣 Those glasses make you look like someone from Cyberpunk 2077. If the refresh rate was 120 Hz it would’ve been so good. Hopefully they can make a more seamless version than works with IOS better.
I think better iOS support is coming. The refresh rate on the glasses is actually great but yeah 120 would have been better. But, it would have been more expensive too since the screen is technically 4K.
I stated in the video that I had an early version of the glasses and the AR features were still in beta. I did however demo the fish scene which supports head tracking and is true AR.
It doesn't seem to have outside tracking capabilities like camera and such. How does it track the environment? If this glasses only shows the content from other devices without the capability to integrate the contents into actual environment, that's pretty useless.
So many things going on with your comment. For starters the phone is the S21 Ultra. It’s the wide angle lens on my camera that makes it look larger than it is I’m assuming. Next, AR is different than AI. Lastly, the lag is non existent when connecting the device using a cable.
I just received mine, and apparently my Samsung a20 won't support it. It doesn't do anything when connected to the PC either, so it's an expensive paperweight.

The provider did not disappear. They have an Amazon store where they currently sell this exact model and have been around for a while. I would try contacting them through their website.

VR does not allow you to see the world around you and with Rokid apps you can interact with certain objects while viewing what’s in front of you. That is called AR.. I also never started 120 degree field of view, I said 120” field of view. I also showed a screen shot of the exact screen dimensions. Everything is laid out in the video exactly as it should be.
Yeah... I spent $699 on the Rokid glasses and did not get the wireless adapter you featured in your video. The unit I got with the glasses looked nothing like the one you show. Oh, you forgot to mention that only extremely high end android phones are capable of utilizing the AR Glasses. Most Android models will not work. To be honest, I'm regretting making this purchase. It had been a total waste of money and Rokid's customer service response has been sketchy at best. I'm already working with Amazon on the refund process.
can the projection mode show your phone screen to the side instead of just at the center? the Nreal light has the option, but i was wondering if this can too
I got a pair myself and they are very nice. One thing I cannot figure out is how to use the speakers on them. Anytime I engage the volume, it is coming from the phone itself.
The basic version is 3DoF, so the screen/view will move with your head. The Pro version has a camera so may be 6DoF so the view stays locked in place as you move - I'm waiting to hear back from them.

does geforce now work well? hows is the latency? rockid air pro is 140" but 4m away. so if this is about 3m then it would be even larger

You can get a small USB C hub and plug it into a battery bank. It's much better than having a heavy battery inside of the glasses imo.

The specs say 1080 x2. It’s 2 1920x1080 displays combined which comes out to 3840 x 2160.

Without an external power source for these to complete work for more than an hour..it is really not worth the money spent...

I noticed that you didn't demo any AR features, just VR. We can't evaluate the glasses as AR glasses per se based on this demo.
