    The best way of delivering information I've come across with details in a more simplified way. I've come across several other videos where many details were hidden. Excellent Work!!!

    Hi. This was a great video. Thank you for sharing. Can you please explain how you wire up the watt/amp meter. Thank you kindly

    • @trevilights
      @trevilights  Год назад

      Hey Nick, thank you very much for watching my videos. It's very easy. Basically you have two wires ( positive and negative) coming in and the same two wires coming out. You connect one end the the power source (pixel port or power supply) and the other end to the pixel string. It measures the current that is passing throughout the positive and negative. Another great tool, which I think is better, is getting a voltmeter with amp clamps. All you have to do is clamp one of the wires and the screen will show the amount of amps that are flowing through the wire. You can then multiply the amp by the voltage to get the wattage. As an example, if the voltmeter show that 3 amp are flowing and your voltage is 12voltos, then the watts been used is 36 watts. Make sure the voltmeter works with DC current.

    Are you using 2 "different" for power supply to "first string" and "power injection" ?
    How you set up three different power supplies? Thanks...

    When you power injected, how did you separate the power supplies? If you run a second matching power supply to use for power injection, shouldn't you split the main 12v so that they aren't feeding to each other? Ground or V- can be common correct? I'm trying to plan my first setup, and starting with building a mega tree. i'd like to set up 2 power supplies, but don't want issues. Thanks for the video this definitely demonstrates the voltage drop along a run of several strings of lights.

      Hey C. They way I do in as follows(and I have 3 years doing it the same way without any Issues). The Falcon Controller has it own power supply which is also feeding 12v to your strings, right? These 12v would only be good for about 200-300 pixels. Under my Mega tree I have a second power supply injecting power at 3 or 4 different point(depends of the number of pixels and strands that you have). This second power supply has no connections(not even v- / common connected to main) to the Falcon's power supply. This second power supply is also feeding my two singing trees as well. I have never had any issues in the 3 years that I've been doing this type of connections. Some people say that you shouldn't been doing this, others (like me) says that it's OK. The final decision is yours. See below.

    Do you have to put a fuse on the positive gauge of the power supply ? If so how many amps for the fuse

      Hey Dude, All lines coming from the power supply must be fused. Is you are using 18Awg use a 10amp fuse.
      I am using one like this.

    hi , this is so much interesting , my question is how many 350w of power supply additional to be inject for 1800 ws2811 12v of lights in my F16V4 ready to run controller thank you

    • @trevilights
      @trevilights  2 года назад

      I recomend two, one will be powering your Falcon Controller which will be next to it. Another one in your yard from which you proving power injection to all of your elements. You will also need some 18awg double wire to do this.

    • @trevilights
      @trevilights  2 года назад

      @@damedelim3621 Yes you can. Just watch for the long runs of cables were the voltage might drop. This is why a second power supply closer to elements is recommended.

    Thank you for another video @Trevi Lights! Idk if this tip will help you in future videos or not. You like to have a few different windows open because you are wanting us to see the different windows as you are recording. (It does help seeing all of them).
    You can split the screen into 2, 3, and 4 windows if you need to have several up front and running to show us. All you do is grab the title bar and drag it to the far corner of the screen and drop it there. Do this for each window you want to have displayed. This will keep you from having to move windows around to adjust or type in things you want to change.
    Here’s a short video showing how to if my description doesn’t help. Hope this helps, if you need it. ruclips.net/video/m2Gp5K9SZBE/видео.html

      @@trevilights i mean it should consume around 2 amp per 50 bulb but your meter reading is consistent even after 500+ bulbs

    • @trevilights
      @trevilights  Год назад

      @@rallyworld3417 If you look closely to minute 5:10 , the meter is reading .84 amps. After connecting al pixels at minute 5:17 (300 pixels in total, each group is 50 pixels) it jumps to 1.5 amps or 16 watts aprox. Brigthness is at 30% which will drop the power consumption. After injecting power Minute 7:10), the amps go down again as the load is share by two power supplies.
