Yes that's true if you buy them on wired watts or other light show stores, but most of them on amazon or other popular stores aren't waterproof. I just wanted to make sure no one would buy strips from one of those stores then have them be ruined instantly from rain/snow.
Thanks for your time and dedication. Im new to all this and last year well i did not get my lights up and running because i was busy working, family and lastly most important i still dont know how to save a sequence i made unto Xlights, or set up a free sequence saved to program display show. I was to overwhelmed with all to complete..😅😮😅😮😅😮😅😅
You're welcome, glad the videos help! If you need help getting xlights to work, just let me know and I can try and help! I'm not sure if you've seen it already, but I do have an older video that goes over how to use all of xlights here ruclips.net/video/4Z3G0rb5SZ8/видео.html maybe this can help with your saving problem!
Whats the best way to reach you privately? And an address to send you a buddy gift in near future too. Im just greatful for your humble dedication to many and myself brother. Oh btw im in California, Sacramento to be exact
That's very kind of you, thank you so much! If you do want to give something, the best way would be through venmo. I have a Venmo at account.venmo.com/u/BridgeportsBrightestLights-Bur . I never expect anything for making these videos, but if you insist on giving, this is the best way! Thank you very much!
The connectors don't matter. As long as you know how to solder you can add whatever connector you want. I know some people in the DIY community use an automotive connector for power injection.
I wish I had some suggestions, but I'm not really sure of any. The only place I know of that definitely does international shipping is Wired Watts, but for everything else, you'll have to check with them and see what they offer.
Oh that's more than enough 😆 My first year I only had 479 pixels in my show. This will be my 4th Christmas show this year and I'm just passing 5k pixels 😂
So sorry for the late reply. I've been busy lately so haven't been working on RUclips stuff too much. For how many controllers you need, it really depends on your set up. For me, I have all my lights closer in rage (farthest strand away is maybe 75 ish feet) so I only have one controller with some differential receivers attached to it. If your show is really spread out, you may want multiple controllers, or just one with differential receivers attached to it. As for what connectors to use, I'd recommend trying to avoid Paul connectors because they aren't super common. Most pixel vendors only sell Ray Wu or Xconnect. But it's totally up to you and your preference.
I like all the info I use regular led lights from home depot and wal mart I decorate alot but I would like to decorate with RGB pixels make a big difference in my little town of Nyssa Oregon, I would like to do a big Maga tree but I not brian smart, if you can help me out I just retire I am 65 years old, so I will take any help you advise to me!!! or if you have any old stuff you want to sell. Thank you very much.😊
Well welcome to the pixel lighting hobby! I would love to help one on one and give you some advice, but many people lately have been seeing my channel and all want help 😅. Sadly, I can't stretch 100 ways to help everyone, so that's why I try to make tutorials everybody can watch and hopefully get some useful information out of. If you are just starting out and don't have much knowledge about pixels, I'd recommend looking up RUclips tutorials about them and how to use them. I have some videos ranging on most of the topics involved with building a light show, as well as some other channels on RUclips. If you'd like to check it out, I have a playlist with some beginner tutorials about how to program and use these lights here ruclips.net/p/PLvjRyLZVnSzPoYycO_zcEUTEzmNRH53mH I wish you luck on your journey to setting up a display! If you ever have any questions, feel free to leave a comment and I will try to answer as soon as I can!
Back in 2016 I was using TM1804 chipset pixels. When you wanted to use the WS2811's you had to get a small converter board.
Do you have a video or where you buy your controllers?
Thank you for the video. FYI strips can come as ip65 or ip67 ( waterproof)

Any online suggestions for UK stores?

@@How2Pixel no problem, maybe if I find some reliable stores I can send them to you and hopefully help other UK watchers.
That would be great!
Is 5k pixel enough for a show
Oh that's more than enough 😆 My first year I only had 479 pixels in my show. This will be my 4th Christmas show this year and I'm just passing 5k pixels 😂

@How2Pixel oh I just bought Paul Pixel and Connector from him too late. Now, no going back, lol

Ya know what's not fun? Accidentally touching a 12v wire to a pixel data wire. That's not fun.
🤣
