Hello Dear.. That's my birthplace. You visited Lord Krishna's Muralidhar Temple. 'Murali' means musical instrument fluit and 'dhar' means who is holding it in hands and playing it. And one you saw hanging at top inside covered with clothes is called 'Palakhi' in which Lord seats goes around moving in the village to give blessings during special festival days once or twice a year. One of which is birthday of Lord Krishna. And ofcourse as you said it's a 'Hapus Mango' city of India. The taste is peculiar due to the weather conditions and laterite rock soil which is full of iron. The big bungalow you saw just before the beach before talking to the gentleman was actually used to be government's office during our childhood when the only conveyance from Mumbai was by sea boat and used to reach during almost midnight time. Mandavi beach used to be like full of crowd during that 1 hr or 2 hr time ,small hotel outlet serving onion pakodas (onion mixed with gram flour thik paste and fried) made by one person by name Mr Bhadang. It was very famous. But then roads were constructed properly and state transport bus started from door to door basis. Otherwise, road conveyance was through Bullock cart (name of this cart was 'Sarvat' and fully decorated cart). Those days I am talking not of many years back but just 50 years or so. You are finding few landmarks still existing there and giving remembrance of its golden era. Thanks bro for reviving my childhood. All the best. Love to Switzerland from Ratnagiri. Warm regards, Manoj.

You know what, it is not only you but me too who is taken by surprise and curiosity by this own world charm of this laidback, little town. It reminds me of the colonial era when the British ruled over India and in a way, it is left untouched to take you back in time to those golden moments. You have just earned a subscriber in me with your curious ways and your childlike eagerness to explore anything and everything. Best wishes 👍

Wow, that is amazing. Your vlog reminded me of my visits to this wonderful place alongwith my kids long back. One more thing, when you pointed out that building with "konkani" architecture, that was old government office building.
