    Let me know what shoe you are! ;) And if you have any questions feel free to drop them here - and as a reminder, if you have specific requirements for your running shoes, let me know what they are and I'll get you hooked up with your perfect pair! -Alastair

    From my experience, La Sportiva has been my favorite brand for descending steep technical terrain, with the Akasha being on top because of the cushioning. I've recently taken the Agility Peak 5, the Prodigio, and the Xodus Ultra out on the same trails and none of them can perform as well as the Akasha coming down miles of steep rocky terrain. But for everything else the Prodigio is my new favorite.

      Have you tried speedgoat 6 or MTL Long Sky 2 Matryx yet? Damn they’re good on technical

      @@trailandkale I haven't but the Long Sky 2 is definitely one I'd like to try. I haven't run in a Speedgoat since the second but it did pretty darn well. I did just pick up the Kiger 9 for $50 and hope to give it the descent test this week. The issue for me is my foot moving around n the toe box when it gets crazy steep and rocky for miles on end. Definitely not runnable trails but they are part of my long runs into the mountains.

      @trailandkale  3 месяца назад +1

      @victorystone1984 yeah give that Long Sky 2 matryx a try - so awesome! Kiger 9 is a nice comfortable shoe, the only main downside for me was the outsole traction. It’s still on Nike’s old compound (not ATC, or Vibram megagrip) / I guess that will come next year

      @@trailandkale thanks for the confirmation on the Long Sky 2 matryx! I think I'm gonna have to pull the trigger when I able to sneak them in the house. Our trails here are super dry, I'm in Albuquerque, so I'm hoping the traction on the Kiger 9 will work for me. Thanks for your in put and your reviews. I would be the Inov-8 Bare-Grip 200 (discontinued). I like to be well connected to the Earth, am flexible (in my views) and like to stick to a task (the Bare-Grips have the most sticky sole I’ve ever encountered). And I’m also very unconventional in beliefs; the Bare-Grips are unconventional even for fell shoes.

    My only experience with La Sportiva is with the Cyclon. I found them prohibitively tough to put on and the uppers had totally failed in less than 500 miles, although the outsole was still great in all but the thickest of UK mud.
    I'm used to getting over 1000 miles from numerous pairs of Inov8 Rocklite, so I was far from pleased with them.
    How does the Bushido compare?

    • @trailandkale
      @trailandkale  2 месяца назад +2

      I do have experience with the Cyclon so can’t compare it. It is however a very durable running shoe. I won’t be running 500miles in these though as there are better trail running shoes for me out there that will be graced with my mileage instead

      @@trailandkale I'm 240 miles into a pair of Inov8 Rocklite V2, and I've just bought and ran 10 miles in a pair of Scott Ultra Carbon RC's.
      The rocklite V2 are a solid shoe like the V1, although there's now too much material in the toe box as I get some bunching below the laces. Initially, the Scott's are a fast and comfortable shoe, and are a possibility for an upcoming ultra. But only if the ground conditions stay quite dry and firm, I don't think they're aggressive enough for deep mud.
