I seriously don't know why this channel doesn't get more hits. This review is everything an adventurer would need.
The La Sportiva is seriously a great looking shoe and I'm glad it's given you so many good runs already. Maybe I'll try a bigger size and see if I can't something wider.

You can give it another try, maybe a bigger size to see if it works. For me it works great for my style of runs/hikes!
@@HungaroExplorer can they be worn with sports clothes or are they only for trail running? I like the design of lasportiva adidas more than any nike or adidas.
I agree with you, the design is really cool and I think you can wear it with whatever you want :) They can match many sport wear in my opinion.

My number is 42 but I need 42.5 in La Sportiva. So maybe you can try 43, but it all depends.
I was DEAD SET on getting a new pair of salomon's and youtube linked me to this video as I was reviewing salomon's and I think you just changed my mind... I'm going to give these a try. La Sportiva owes you a commission :)
I am glad you want to try this one, and hope you will love it. Don’t forget this runs small, and it has a different kind of feel to it than Salomon.

@@HungaroExplorer My size, all else equal, is 42 EUR. I called REI and they echoed your advice. Should I go up 1/2 a size or 1 full size? I will try them on at the store anyway, just wanted your opinion.
I would go half size! A full size might affect your heel lock, at least for me that is the case.

Hi! What about the traction on wet rock and roots? And, what upper mileage are they suitable for?
The traction in wet rocks and roots are ok, none of the shoes I had before were perfect on wet surfaces.
I usually don’t run/hike more than 10-15 miles with these shoes. I lrefer it actually on shorter technical trails.
Truthfully I found a pair of la sportivas in a dumpster in Denver and wore them I'm glad I did and will buy these for sure sorry about dumpsterdiving but I can walk again I appreciate you ❤️

Great review Mr. Hungarooo!!! Seems like the perfect shoe for me, however the toe box might be tooo tight.
Thanks Marcus! Yeah, the toebox can be an issue. Most of the people order half a size bigger, but some a whole one size bigger to make sure they will fit them.
I got a pair of these at scheels in the discount isle for $70!! They are my first pair of technical trail shoes. I will be using them for caving. From the review seems like they will be perfect 🙏

the breathability issue is only at the upper part of the tongue of the shoe. the grip on rocks is outstanding. the downside of that is the soles wear out fast on pavement because the rubber is kind of soft. the stability if you are on a wet trail that is declining to one side is superb!
the over all protection is good but the rockplate doesnt really protect the plantar fascia from sharp rocks and especially not from hard larger gravel.

The sole of the shoe is not meant to be durable on pavement which make sense. It is marketed as a mountain running shoe, but surprisingly it is still comfortable on the road.
I do love my Bushidos too, lately I find myself running only with them :)
@@HungaroExplorer ya i know its ment for alpine terraine. (I wasnt really expecting it to be very durable on the road). but i agree with you that it still feels good on the road as long as its not steap downhill.
I Started jogging in 2006, a mix of running through forestry, wasteland, parks and roads. It took me several months to find a pair of trainers that didnt give me shin splints, blisters or any other leg pains. The Adidas TR3 trainers in Royal Blue & Red were superb! Unbelievable grip in the mud, snow or rain. Mega comfortable. I Never had any trouble with them whatsoever & to this day-July 2022-I still use those trainers (although I had to have the sole re-glued a few months ago). Over the years due to injuries to my knees (done at football training) I have gone from running three times a week, to once a week running distance, usually around 12 miles to the last few years of running 10k every Saturday against the clock. I Still do the 10k plus now an extra day midweek. I Have bought several different trainers over the years when I have wanted to upgrade the TR3's basically because the sole was coming off. TR3s went of of production in 2008 & newer Adidas TR 4/5/6 trainers were too heavy, didnt feel the same. Salomon trainers were even worse. When my TR3's were out of action for several months other trainers caused me series Achilles problems on my right foot & I could barley run two miles without having to quit. Getting the TR3's back cured the problem but I recently bought a pair of LA Sportiva Bushido II in Black & Yellow as I'm sure the sole wont last long on the TR3s. To my surprise they were excellent & the only trouble I got was a very sore sole after about 6k probably due to them being new inside rubbing the bottom of my foot. I Am a UK 9 in normal shoes/trainers but always take a 9.5 in running trainers. My LAs were 9.5-X whatever that means? I've have now ordered another two pairs, a rare pair of Royal Blue & Orange very similar to my TR3s & a Blue & Red pair of the GTX ones. Cost over £400 for all three pairs but will be worth it in the 'Long Run'. Well recommended trainers.
Thank You for your detailed comment! I see you went through quite a lot. I am glad to hear that the Bushidos work out for you. Most people in your case would of probably reach for a more cushiones trainer like Hokas because of the comfort, but I am glad you gave La Sportiva a try.

Great review. Do you think this will be an overkill for runs on easy trails? I am looking for an all rounder- something to use for regular flat path trails, some vertical running ( 1-2 hours).

I have a bit of a lower back problem and love hiking, goint to some mountains .. I was confused between alot of shoes including Beshido 2 and the Jackal 2 Boa knowing that I don't hike long distances, but I read that jackals have Infinitoo midsole systems that absorbs the negative impact in ground which will helps my back pain
What do you think?
I never tried the Jackals, so I am not sure about their midsoles. However, most of the La Sportiva shoes are using a so called “Impact Brake System” which helps reducing/absorbing negative ground impact. That could work for you, but you have to try to see.

Unfortunately, I don’t think any of the stores carry them…but they definitly should. I know Climb Aloha has La Sportiva gear, sometimes even shoes, but not exactly sure.
Anyone have an idea about how much this shoe might stretch after putting some miles on it?
After 200 miles I don’t see any stretching yet.
I’m struggling to choose between the Bushido II and the jackal II boa, what do you think of the last ?
The question is what kind of distances are you want to run? If you are planning longer distances go with the Jackal 2. If you want a good all arounder for runnig and hiking go witht the Bushido.
Should i use true to size or more half biggest size...like US 10 to US 10.5?my foot is wide type
That shoe might not work if you have wide feet. I would suggest you try it on. I would go 1 full size bigger

do they have enough support for a 25lbs. pack hiking?
@@Shadow_Baron For about 12 kgs backpack,if not on very rough rocky terrain,no problem!I hike on rocky mountains with 5-8 kilos for hours quite easily

Thanks for the question. The Akasha 2 is made more for longer runs and maybe it is a bit less snappy than the Bushido 2. For a longer day on technical, rocky mountain trail, I would choose the Akasha. For a shorter outing the Bushido. However the Bushido can go for long days too in my experience. For a scrambling mission I woulkd go witht he Bushido since it has a more approach shoe feel to it than the Akasha. Both are great shoes! I hope this helps.

How sizing go on bushido vs salomon?
I would go half a size or even a full size on bushido compared to salomon. For me half size is enough but if you have a wider feet, maybe you need a full size.
Anyone know if these are as narrow as Salomon?
Yes, they are narrow style. Kind if like the Salomon SpeedCross series.
Anyone got experience in using this shoes for hiking thourgh the mountians with a +/- 10kg backpack?
Yes, I used it with heavier backpack and I was perfectly fine. It is a stable, protective shoes and if you get the size right, you are good to go.

Yes, I think any La Sportiva shoe can handle 25lbs. I carried a 32lbs pack on technical terrain with it.
Hi, is this ideal for gravel?
It works on gravel too, but On gravel you can get away with a lot of other kind of shoes too.
Are these quick drying?
Not as quick drying than some other trail shoes. They have a lot of protection around the upper which make the shoe a bit less “quick drying”.
Would you wear these for a 100miler?
I know some people who did, but I don’t think I would. With the Akasha 2s or the Prodigios yes, but maybe not with the Bushidos.
The tiny gravels always get into the shoes..gonna try Nike zegama
That’s a “tiny” problem, but can be annoying
are they waterproof?
This is not waterproof, but there is the waterproof version which is called the Bushido 2 GTX (GoreTex). It looks the same, feels the same but different upper material for water proofing. I hope this helps!
How much for One pear
Usually it is between $140-$160 depends if it is Gore Tex or not. For Holidays you will find some cheaper for sure

Great review! Looking for a pair of trail running shoes for hiking in wet with 10-17kg backpack. After all this time, what would be your recommendation? Would you recommend Bushidos for this usecase, or some other shoe?

I personally never carry more than 14kg but my sweetspot is 12kg. The Bushido is a very supportive shoe and definitely can handle carrying weight. However if you are not used to wear trail runners while carrying heavier backpacks, it can take a some time to get used to.

@@HungaroExplorer how did the lugs hood up, did they ever wear down, one guy made a video and expressed that they could possibly wear down fast due to the light and speedy form of this shoe, how did they do for you?
I was using this oair of shoe only on rugged surfaces, lava rocks, scrambles so yes the lugs wore down significantly after 200 miles. If you use it on koderate terrain, not too righed surfaces you can definitely double it’s life. It all depends on the terrain you use it.

la sportiva this is great shit, their shoes are falling apart, they have very poor workmanship and quality and sky high prices and their customer service is a waste of customer time of course.
I am sorry to hear that you had problems with La Sportiva shoes. I had tried already from trail running, climbing and mountaineering La Sportiva shoes and they never let me down.
I think actuall that compared to other brands their shoes hold up better, but that’s my opinion.
I've always had great experience with my la sportiva. I have the Rapter ll now and they are awesome...holding strong after 3 years.
