Omar Khan implicitly answered the question by talking about the depth we have at possible different centers. So YES, in a sense he very much is leading everyone to believe they are not forcing center with out first pick. Now is he saying that to deceive other teams? It's possible. But I think he isn't, I think he wants one of the very good tackles with our 1st pick. And he will possibly trade up to get a center if he feels he has to, in the 2nd round.

The value for Center isn't there at #20. There will be significantly better players there at #20, & I'd rather they take "best available" than reach at C, & kick themselves down the road for passing on a stud like DeJean, Brian Thomas, etc.
Center is one of those positions you don't need a world-beater (but better than Cole - worst vet C in NFL last year), RT, WR, & CB are all more important.

why get a project when zach frazier will be available and is a very hard working blue collar center

      A. They will ALL be "projects", as not one of them has played a down in the league. You have no idea what they're going to be. B. Frazier will be available in the 2nd round. Spend your 1st round pick on the at athlete you believe to have the highest upside. That's why they're 1st rounders.

I think center in the 2nd round. Zach Frazier and Van Pran are the only true centers in the draft.

Get Mims 1st and 3rd Van Pran keep it all Bull Dogs 🐕 Ladd 2nd. Or get a CB or DL. 3rd DL or CB. 4th Bub Means or Rice. CB , QB

Jpj played every game at center last season and out performed both, and there is no guarantee Frazier will even be there when we pick in the 2nd.

I’d say spencer Anderson too or herbig

    • @jasonwood8023

Herbig didn't get a start last year even with Cole playing so bad.

I think this was a bad smokescreen. As bad as Cole played they could have moved Daniels then and they didn't. But yet Cole was so bad that they cut him. Its why I think Daniels at Center is a red herring. Also Cole beat out Daniels for that job. Still think Frazier is the best fit. Safest pick of the litter. Just not at #20. The only way they take a non Center in the 1st is if Omar has a trading partner in Rd 2 that he has already talked too.

Why would they not look at Graham in 1st rd as the RT. Trade up and get Frazier in the second.

  • @tommiwaring

Hope we don’t waste a rd 1 pick on center tbh guys like Mason Cole were not letting geno smith cook or a future target when GP is getting double covered and our next best option is van Jefferson….

The Pittsburgh Steelers starting offensive line in 2024, LT Broderick Jones, LG Isaac Seumalo, C James Daniels, RG Nate Herbig and the only position that’s up for debate is right tackle. What I love about each one of those guys, all of them are physical. Can you imagine having to deal with that offensive line for 4 quarters? There’s not a defense in the NFL that wants that problem.

I think they are letting the Draft board fall n making decisions Based on their TOP 10 or 15 Choices as to who is there at 20 n the other positions depth from 20+ On !! 😎 Going to be interesting!!

Playing it close to the vest. 100% they are going center, they need to go center its not even a question.

Omar Khan also said he isn't trading down in round one , this could all be a smoke screen

What is Omar cooking up for the first round of the draft? Center, OT, CB, WR, QB (Penix), trade up, trade down? Only the Kahn artist knows. Smokescreens abound.

Wr first round. Trade up in the 2nd for frazier. Real simple.
