Russ ate Mahomes’s lunch in a shootout in 2018. You really don’t know what you’re talking about. 😂 Mahomes is scared of two QBs: Brady and Russ, and you can tell by the way he plays when he faces them. He’s in awe of them. He’s all there with the effort, but he doesn’t seem as sure of himself. And Russ has an extra gear that other QBs don’t have, closing Allen and Mahomes.
The only thing Russ lacks compared to them is height. Thats it!
Kenny Pickett was in awe of Russ, which is why he was afraid to compete with Russ.
In fact, Russ has faced Mahomes 5 times and outplayed him in 4 of those matchups, including two of the losses in Denver - both of which the Broncos should’ve won.
I know EVERYTHING about Russ and what he has done in his career. I would win a debate with anybody! I know the stats, the historical record, the contexts and situations of the games…everything. I can cite things at random refuting all of the negative comments.
Russ is a great game-manager, just like Montana and Brady, and Manning, arguably the three greatest to ever play the game, so he’s in great company.
Game-manager is not the insult people think it is. But he’s also more than just game-manager. He’s the first TRYE dual-threat QB ever. A dual-threat QB’s job is to take risks. A game-manager’s job is to minimize risks. Russ, unlike any other QB, has straddled that line and alternated between the two.
He’s the most clutch QBs in NFL history, and one of the most creative playmakers ever.
Pound-for-pound, Russ is the greatest QB ever, the same way Isiah Thomas, Allen Iverson, and Steph Curry might be called pound-for-pound the greatest NBA players ever.
ABs there’s no visual evidence that Russ isn’t the same QB he was. He still makes more tight-window throws than any other QB, and he still has the best deep-ball ever.
Last year (2023), he rushed for 350 yards on very few designed runs. Hes still quick, still twitchy, and still has es capability. He’s still one of the top-7 or top 8 movers at the QB position, at worst, and that’s in a league comprised of more dual-threat QBs than ever. He has lost even more weight this offseason and looks chiseled af.

Again, you don’t know what you’re talking about. You think Payton coached his tail off to get Russ back to where Russ was? No!
It doesn’t look like he coached Russ at all. He never wanted Russ, and it showed. He wanted to tank for another QB, and get Russ to take a lower salary or have his contract voided.
It was extremely clear to me that Payton, st the Walton’s’ direction, was involved in a scheme, and there was strong evidence of that throughout the season, from Payton leaving Russ in at the end of the Miami game, to his belittling Russ in the media, to the stunt he pulled on the sideline vs. the Lions.
Then there was the threat to bench Russ if he didn’t defer his injury guarantee.
All of that was designed to drive Russ nuts and coax him into doing something that might allow the Broncos to petition to void his contract, like attack Payton on national television.
We’re talking about the Waltons here. Everybody knows how they do business.
Russ held the ball because he knew Payton was trying to depress his stats and lose games on purpose. Don’t you see that Payton tried to tank?
Russ called him out on it against the Lions. That’s why Payton blew up on the sideline.
Russ knew what he was doing, and he is fully capable of unloading the ball quickly and throwing over the middle. I watched him do it in 2019 and 2020.
Lastly, 40 A/G or more is too many for any QB under 6’3, but Russ can handle 30-35 with no problem! Anything under 30 is too few.
Pete had him at 26 in 2018, and if he had thrown 37 he would’ve had the same stats as Mahomes had that year, with an inferior O-Line.

As a seattle fan I do hope russ has a comeback season. I wanted him to bomb on Denver for obvious reasons. But we got the last laugh, they gave us two top ten picks and I think russ clearly regrets forcing his way off the team.
But at this point i think he’s no an underdog and we all love a good underdog story

    • @DeCurtaRican
      @DeCurtaRican Месяц назад +1

The last laugh hasn’t been had yet! Pete lost his job, and the likelihood of your new coach having any success isn’t very high, especially with Geno as your QB. He’s good, but he just isn’t Russ. He’s not special.
And to hope a guy flames out is just evil. Idc why. Russ never did anything to Seattle, and he had every reason to want to get away from there. Pete Carroll was a F-up!

@@trentwise3762: Russ won a SB in Seattle and went to two. When did he say Seattle DIDNT know how to win? And don’t people compare Denver and Seattle?
People took that comment the wrong way! Riss knew Seattle knew how to win! How could he not? He was a beneficiary of one of the smartest crowds in sports!
He wasn’t saying that Seattle didn’t know how to win. He was saying he wanted a location that reminded him of Seattle, which is be reason he chose Denver over Miami and Philly, both of which wanted him badly, and both of which might have already won two SBs with him!
I’m can’t believe people in Seattle took that statement as a knock. He said nothing negative about Seattle or the Seahawks.
His worst remark was that he was tired of getting hit, and the fans and media had been complaining about that sh?tty O-line for many years before he ever mentioned it. Even when he complained about then, he took some of the blame.
I don’t respect Seahawks fans for turning on that guy the way they did. No Russ, no SBs!
Pretend it was the LoB all you want to but they were a lousy 7-9 in back-to-back seasons before Russ was drafted, and that was WITH Beast Mode at RB and Matt Hasslebeck at QB for a year (2010).
The LoB are not even worthy of respect as far as I’m concerned, specifically Richard Sherman and Kam Chancellor. Let’s face it! We know they started all of the bs!
The LoB COST the team two SBs, arguably three of them. I have the receipts for that claim, btw.
I can’t even be a Seahawks fan because of the way Seahawks fans behaved. I can’t root for them. I always hated Denver and knew it was a mistake for Russ to go there.
Wearing black & yellow now. 🐝🖤💛🏈

@@trentwise3762: Btw…waaah to Seahawks fans. A QB dies what’s best for himself and the fans act like they were owed something. If I had been Russ, I would’ve left Seattle first chance I got (2016)! It was quite obvious that Pete Carroll wasn’t a great coach, and he wasn’t. That’s why he’s out of a job now. Seahawks brass knew he never did anything great without Russ.
Even Pete knew that, and he publicly admitted it in a BR Article. Pete had a below .500 record in nFL games coached without Russ as his QB.
Geno is a whopping 19-18 as the Seahawks starter right now, including 0-5 vs. the 49ers, a team Russ dominated for a decade (18-4) and even beat during the worst season of his career.
Geno’s 19-18 record includes an inflated 9-8 record in 2022.
The Seahawks would’ve been 3-14 that year if Nathaniel Hackett hadn’t gifted the Seahawks a win, and if the entire NFCw hadn’t been decimated by key injuries - including to all three starting QBs plus Trey Lance.
      The 2022 Seahawks were a 3-14 team with a 9-8 record, and they didn’t beat a single team with a .500+ record.
Do, you lost a little when Russ left! If he had stayed for 2022, you might have found yourselves in that year’s SB! Look who wound up playing in the NFC championship game…the 49ers, whom Russ managed to beat in his worst season with a Broncos squad decimated by injuries. The same 49ers who confused and befuddled Geno!
Nas I said before, the last laugh hasn’t been had yet. The game is still on, and I’ll bet Russ wins a SB before the Seahawks even sniff a deep playoff run.
      THAT’S the game.
