    Let me tell you... I've looked through like 200 videos on how to make Christmas stockings. All of them were either too involved with all kinds of bells and whistles, or they were miniature ones for ornaments. None of them were just that right size stocking. I was just about to give up when I said I'd watch one more video and then call it quits. This is the perfect stocking!! I am so glad I held out, lol. This is the perfect size, shape and level of difficulty. It's EXACTLY what I was trying to find. Thanks so much!! 🎅🤶❄️⛄🦌🎄

      Hey sister! I'm doing these stockings this year but I'm gonna go a little bigger.

      I agree I am excited to get going on these for next year. I like videos like this myself. Easy to follow along.

      @@NomadBeadz I'm gonna really stand by my own promise to myself this coming year, and start WAY earlier for the Fall - Christmas seasons. I could have made a lot of money this year on the items that I am able to make. I made a little bit, but definitely not as much as I could have. I have no excuses this coming year. I am so disabled that I barely make it out of bed anymore. So, I'll have nothing on my plate that will get in the way.

      @@kariejo4614 same. I'm gonna start buying fall and Christmas colors in January. A lot of people wanted to buy stuff but I was crunching just to get family things done.

    i love that you crochet kinda the way I do, like "I don't know if this is even a thing? but this is what I do. if it is a thing, that's neat, but yeah, this is how I do this. other people might tell you to not do that but, I'm going to do it." I follow that logic so well!!

    I am so glad I came across your video. This is exactly what I was wanting for my grandkids Christmas stockings. Just a small suggestion. Try not to go into too much detail explaining things that you're not actually showing. Its almost like reading crochet instructions too far ahead. It becomes a garbled mess. Other than that it was a great video. Thank you so much.

    Hi friend, if it makes it easier, every time you attach a new color, start with a standing sc. Put a slip knot on your hook, go thru the loop on your work, yarn over, pull thru, 2 loops on the hook, finish a sc. Then you can start your row and it's firmly attached, crochet over your tail as you go and don't have to worry about weaving it in later. 😊
    Hope this helps.

    I had 36 stitches and 1/2 is 18. So when I did the decrease I ended up with 6 stitches. So I did 1 decrease on each side. In your big stocking you said the last row is 8 stitches. Is there a formula to where to stop?

      If you rewatch the very first 5 minutes, you might change your mind. She explains that she is going around and around, not changing color at each row. Basically to change color, you simply drop your working yarn color in the middle of a Double Crochet, and pick up the second color, pull through the loop on your hook and continue with double crochets. It's very easy. give it a try.

    If I want these to be smaller do I use a smaller yarn and needle? I think a string full (24) would be adorable in my Christmas decor.

    • @KatieCooksandCrafts
      @KatieCooksandCrafts  5 лет назад

      A smaller yarn and hook would make a smaller stocking. You can also do less stitches around so make it smaller
