🤸🏻‍♀️ Last week, Jade Carey has said she was fighting an illness − unable "to eat or anything" in the days leading up to the qualifying round at the 2024 Paris Games.
On Saturday, she won a third career Olympic medal − and a redemptive one at that.
Carey earned bronze in the vault final at Bercy Arena with an average score of 14.466, finishing behind only compatriot Simone Biles − who won yet another gold at these Games − and Rebeca Andrade of Brazil, who took silver. It's the second individual medal of Carey's her Olympic career, and likely a meaningful one after what happened in Tokyo, where she was heavily favored in this event but stumbled on the runway and missed the podium.
Carey went last in Saturday's final, looking to force her way onto the podium with the final two vaults of the day. On her first attempt, she hit a Cheng, which is the second most difficult vault being performed in the world today. She then followed it up with a double twisting Yurchenko, nearly sticking the landing to move ahead of North Korea's An Chan-ok, who ultimately finished fourth.

The team did medal silver in Tokyo but that year they did some weird thing where they sent 2 specialists who weren’t part of the team. Jade went as a floor/vault specialist in Tokyo and didn’t compete in team final. It was a terrible “format” and I’m glad they did away with its after 1 year.

I would like Team USA to take a little more pride in how they look. These gymnasts being going out there to compete and they be looking a whole mess. Hair is dishelved, no makeup, no nails. Like come on take some pride in how you look. Get your act together.
They need to take some noyes from Team Brazil. Brazil is alwags out there looking fierce. Those faces be beat, the hair is laid. Brazil does full glam when they are out there. USA Gymnastics needs to hire proper makeup artist and proper hair stylists for these girls.
Ppl say it doesn't matter and its nor a beauty contest but it does matter. This is a global event, there are cameras around, ppl are watching, you can't be out there looking any old how.
Ace Katie is really annoying me and she is pissing me off. Even Bill is getting annoyed with her. What Katie is doing is bordering on obsession and she really needs to go and see a shrink. She is allowing Bill moving on to do this to her. This is a man she said she didn't want.
Katie is determined to get rid of Poppy. Let's say Katie succeeds and Poppy is gone, then what. Is Katie gonna reunite with Bill? Will she go back to him? No I highly doubt it. Once Poppy is gone, Katie will go back to her mantra of "I don't wanna be with someone who is in love with my sister." "I don't wanna be with someone who is in love with my sister." "I don't wanna be with someone who is in love." Katie will find another man and Bill will be left alone again which is exactly what Katie wants. Katie wants Bill to be alone. Katie is selfish.
