Very useful guide, I was looking for this after the dog had it's way with the instructions sheet. On my set, the lower mounting bit with the ball that goes into the stem, I can't push the bolt all the way down because there's a layer of metal halfway through the top entry point and the bottom end. I could try to carefully dig a way through using an Allen key and the actual bolt but I know that layer shouldn't be there. Just pointing out. Thank you for the guide.
Well, if you're not able to access the stem, usually the solution is finding a different way to mount a RAM ball. From what I've seen online for your motorcycle, you might want to take a look at RAM part # RAM-B-309-7U or RAM-B-309-1U, those might work for you.
I got a gsxr600 2009 and I was looking for a RAM mount for my Tomtom Urban Rider. This seems to be exactly what I was looking for. Weird, but on the official RAM website, they do not list the gsxr as a compatible motorbike for the 342-U. Sure everything is ok with that ??
A u-bolt mount for your handlebars would probably be the best option for you. We sell that as a bundle with the X-Grip cradle on our website - you can find it by searching for "RAM-B-149-UN7U".
thanks this video helped ALOT, i have a question i tightend everything and are you suppose to be able to turn the ball? its not loose but you can forcefully rotate the ball around right now im ordering a arm and diamond ball/garmin mount from you website ITS ALOT CHEAPER than the actual ram site!!!!
I don't have a listing for that specific motorcycle but from what I can tell it may work. If you have a stem base with an ID between 0.5" and 1.25" you should be ok.
When you cut the rubber, you will want to make sure that you are using the fattest part possible for your fork stem. If you are using a thinner part, you may not be able to get it to expand all the way. RAM makes a replacement hardware pack if you need to try it again: www.gpscity.com/ram-mount-motorcycle-fork-stem-base-hardware-pack.html
I got one. The ball broke off after 150 feet holding my iphone. We'll see how their warranty is. Looking at the broken material, I can't imagine how this could ever survive. It appears to be a very thin section of very cheap die cast. VERY disappointed.

I got this a week ago. Came back to say I love it, pokes out of my R6 pretty far but its worth it.

That is a bit out of the ordinary. RAM components do carry a lifetime warranty so you shouldn't have a hard time getting it replaced.
GPSCity They're sending me a replacement free of charge. They were great to deal with. I'm hoping the failure was a total fluke.
oh yea ! thanks.
