    Thanks for sharing!
    For a large home which one should be better (more range and stable wifi): ASUS GT-AX6000 vs RT-AX88U Pro ?

      You can check the signal attenuation graphs for more detail, but in my tests, I saw that the GT-AX6000 had a better throughput when the client was farther away than the other routers. Bear in mind that this was a single-client test.

    How would you compare any of them to a ax4200.
    Besides choosing between openwrt or stock assus or merlin, would any of these broadcom routers do something that the much cheaper mediatek router couldnt ?
    Great video as always !

    • @SamsTechnologyReviews
      @SamsTechnologyReviews  Месяц назад +2

      The TUF-AX4200 performs really well at close-range, but doesn't really keep up that well in long-range tests. Then again, the AX4200 performed the best in my multi-client tests which I think is more important than the single-client iperf tests. And it has support for OpenWRT. The problem is the single 2.5GbE port, but you do get the TUF-AX6000 to fix this issue while being pretty much the same router as the AX4200 in other respects. The RAM is also an issue since you can't run SNORT properly.

      i have the last firmware and is so bad over wifi ...latency over 100ms and spikes at 200-300ms over 500mbps upload. this is the worst router ever , I will trow it to the bin , not joke here . I have an old huawei ax3000 and spike at 60ms and in general is under 30ms on speedtest

      after i disable control channel auto select DFS channels it is much better , less than 100ms on laptop same on phone . only problem is the xbox ... nothing change... xbox have -59dbm tx and rx +500mbps. phone ans laptop over 2000mbps

    i'm considering the AX88U pro only because the 2.5Gb Lan port they have. My modem has 2.5gb WAN and then my PC which has 2.5Gb with a cat6 cable direct connected would at least have internal speeds of 2.5gb then I can make use of the 1gbps internet speeds i just upgraded to. I'm currently looking because my AC66U B1 can't seem to get more than 500mbps via speed tests, and is about 7 years old anyways. I like what i have regarding DDNS and understand the features/UI enough to stick with asus. Just dread having to set up my dhcp reservations again for certain devices lol thanks for doing the video.

    • @SamsTechnologyReviews
      @SamsTechnologyReviews  Месяц назад

      ASUS should really make it easier to export and import specific configuration files. It is very much possible to move the DHCP reservations between routers if you use Merlin, but it's still not an easy process.

    why is tut ax6000 not considered for these comparisons. price wise it beats them all and has same specs. plus I have read that mediated chips are more power saving than Qualcomm and Broadcom chips in router used in comparison.

    • @SamsTechnologyReviews
      @SamsTechnologyReviews  Месяц назад

      I tested the TUF-AX4200 and I agree that the Mediatek platform seems to be a success. The reason why the TUF-AX6000 is not in this comparison is simple. I couldn't get my hands on the router for now.

    Can you get over 1 Gigabit down with QoS or Adaptive QoS on the RT-AX88U PRO?

    • @SamsTechnologyReviews
      @SamsTechnologyReviews  Месяц назад

      It really depends on how you set up the QoS since it's basically device & service prioritization. But in my experience, the Adaptive QoS will usually cut the throughput to below 1Gbps.

    This tests are the opposite of some reviews I read. Some people are saying the AX86U Pro has a better WiFi range than the AX88U Pro, but your test are saying something else. But environment has a lot to do with it. So still not sure which of this 2 I should choose 😂

    • @SamsTechnologyReviews
      @SamsTechnologyReviews  Месяц назад

      I try as best as I can to provide full transparency on how I conduct my tests. Which is why the signal attenuation plays such an important factor when anyone shows the single-client tests. Did the other sources tell the distance at which the test were conducted and have they included the attenuation as well? I say that because 70 feet with line of sight will allow for a better throughput than 15 feet with two concrete walls between the client and the router. As to what to choose between the two devices, just get whichever is the cheapest unless you have some special requirements or a huge amount of devices.

    • @UltimateTBone
      @UltimateTBone Месяц назад

      @@SamsTechnologyReviews Thank you for your reaction. That is why I like your videos, because you give a lot of information regarding the tests.
      In the comparison the AX86U Pro seems to have a bit more NAT options and options to do link aggregation. I think my choice depends on if I have enough space for the AX86U Pro because it is standing.

    • @SamsTechnologyReviews
      @SamsTechnologyReviews  Месяц назад +2

      You mean in the single-client tests? The specs don't always show the full picture and the firmware will also make a difference most of the times. I tested the GT-AX6000 about three times over the years and each firmware update changed something.
