I was waiting for a machine like this... 2.2l MERC sourced engine and gear box, 140hp @ 3800rpm and 321Nm torque @ 1600 - 2600 Rpm, 4x4 Borg Warner transfer case with front and rear differential locks, all four coil spring suspension, live rigid front and rear axles, C in C Ladder frame chassis. I love it And I'm buying it. Thank you for your fantastic review.
Truly sounds like everything that was missing in a thar has been corrected in the Gurkha! Just love it.
Although Gurkha has no market resale but this is the only vehicle in India which have company fitted diff. Locks on front and rear. The new Gurkha is better than the older because it's ball joints are more durable than the previous Gurkha model and specially the more powerful Engine (used in unsuccessful model Force One). Liked your hard work in making this video.
We need a 5 door extreme edition. Snorker is used when the whole engine is submerged not like the light water wading you showed.

Nothing prepares you for the size of this beast. Test drove it. Loved it. Onroad is great as well! No rolls, no thuds.. It just stays composed.

Very impressive and informative video, other videos described Gurkha's ability but at the same time highlighted the inferiority of the interiors. However, you demonstrated the video very well and gave proper justification and reason for the bare bone basic interiors of this car.
Probably the best Indian off-reader with both front and back differential locks.
the beast just get better and better, front live axle and improved approached and departured angle, 2.2 common rail engine with 320nm max torque, it's just simply unmatched by any SUV in india

It's a proper safari and expedition vehicle. A kind of suv in which you would love to travel in to off beat places. Hassle free from all the complicated interior and hassle of cleaning it. Perfect to take it camping deep inside the tropical jungle or high on the mountains. 140bhp means that it won't be slow on the highway either. It might not be the most comfortable SUV, but it will surely get you to places where most modern SUV would struggle. Just need a winch and that's about it, take it to the remotest of places.
And now i guarantee this will be crazy with 140hp & 320nm... The best off roader...
This car should be equipped with high end safety features , AMT, all wheel drive mode. & Driver information system.🇮🇳🇮🇳😊😊

can the Force GURKHA Xtreme 4WD 3-Dr SUV be equipped with a 3.5 in. to 5.0 in. suspension lift (instead of the stock factory built 3.0 in. suspension lift)??? if so where can I get a suspension lift specifically built for this vehicle??? I need 20 units of 3.5 in. or 5.0 in. (whichever is available) but not less than 3.0 in.) suspension lift!!! Please advise

Funny you should say that. This has been purpose built for the Indian Army and a lot of feedback from the Army has also been used. That basic interior? Army requirement.
The civilian version is practically the same as the Army version. Force motors thought why not offer the same SUV to the civil market, given that there are lots of Army lovers, veterans and off-road enthusiasts that would love to drive what the Army drives.
For force Gurkha-
1) Beside 3 door, a 5 door, BS6 model is more practical for day to day use, as well as off roading.
2) Rear - TORSEN deffirential
Front - manual mechanical lock diffential, obviously makes the car more capable.
Note- many LSD/ Brake lock differential are available in Indian market, but no TORSEN diff lock is available till date.
Pros.- a) low maintenance,
b) can be used by an inexperienced driver also.
They might have jacked up the prices a bit more and redone the interior. Especially, that Tachometer, which looks a bit small and out of place. Could have given it the pop out effect like in old Suzuki Ritz.

Jimny is a good offroader if it launches at 8lacs near. But extreme offroading and water wading will damage the electronics, touch screen , power windows,sensors (mass sensor, air bag unit, maybe even the abs ). The gurkha has no funk in the trunk...but it's rugged enough and chances of break down wrt electronics(they exist in bare minimum...just AC and lighting) and even mechanics is less.
In most rural areas in India, the force gurkha, toofan and Trax are used. So availability of most spares won't be an issue even in those areas. The suspension and engine parts may differ (engine majorly... suspension parts differ minutely) so yes....all in all a good vehicle with a Merc patented successful and refined engine and well synchronised gearbox.
That's right. Indian scenario is important for any vehicle owner, especially for an off-road adventurer.

The off-road challenges overcome by u could have easily been cleared in the 2WD mode itself with the diff locked ofcourse. Early trax ( gurka's grandfather) featured it. RWD with difflocks alone. Without the frictional losses and costs associated with 4WDs this setup could get most of the job done. And where it failed, u could walk the stretch faster 😅.

Simply we can say that it is the small version of old cruiser
everything is ok. but worried about its ac cooling in summers and this world war 2 type interiors is also a miss. also it should have abs and airbags as done mandatory by govt.

Yes the suspension is better than the previous model too. The suspension has the similar design as used in Mahindra Pick up. The ball joints are even more better than the previous models.
This is atleast 20 years behind schedule... Can you compare it with any mid mild average SUV that has average tech? Worst part is it is very unsafe vehicle

@@CarToqVideos you are right. Dear Retro Funk, Gurkha is only off road vehicle and not a family vehicle. Once you buy it then forget for it's resale. It has no resale value. And regarding the price of the vehicle, you can negotiate with the dealers as dealers get more than 15% of margin.
Bro the suspension setup and engine displacement of 4*4*4 is really expensive of Gurkha, which you don’t get even in the cars like fortuner or endeavour 😑 that’s why a little cost cutting in the interior is justified, Gurkha is a metal tank

@@warxfitindia you are right. Just because of extreme durability, good cost, Force vehicles are first choice of smugglers, mafia and thugs living near the border areas and the area where there are no roads. Even Army Gypsy gets stuck in sand and mud but Force don't.

Its a pity the interiors are so cheap and crap atleast why cant they do something like Lexus with better interiors and option for air suspension, atleast have them as options with additional cost, now with supreme court anti modification laws it would be impossible to change the interiors as an after market mod.

Its too pricey to shell out in the start because you know how the service requirements for any Force Vehicles. What is warrantee ? Reliability is always a question for Force. It should have been around 9 to 10 L max. Now a days pricing is always relative, so all the automakers are just making fun of we buyers. Its illusive pricing. Not an absolute one. You feel you got better price just coz, others are priced even higher just on their brand name.

So ya the gurkha is extremely overpriced. And it's not three times the fortuners price its just about twice. The on road price of the gurkha in Mumbai is 16.5 Lakhs without any of the additional bits that are on the demo vehicle shown in your video.
