    John Williams is not human...he is pure energy of music!

      Yup, the pinnacle of music composing in the modern age. Look at the list of music he’s composed for the Entertainment industry and the immense success of every single one of them….the man captures the essence we all feel about fandoms and excitement so we can all feel it the same way. That’s Godly.

      That's a fair comment. I find it a little sad that people take the music so much for granted. The movies wouldn't be anything close to what they are without the music.

    Though other composers have worked on these movies, it's Williams that created the most iconic tracks and I'm glad they kept using them now and then in some of the later movies. Especially for the very last shot of adult Harry watching his kids leave for Hogwarts. It's perfect.

  • @Busher50

    First 2 films really stood out from the others. Chris Columbus style combined with John Williams music was very unique. You could tell the style had changed from the 3rd one

    • @CapitalJ2
      @CapitalJ2 9 лет назад +15

      +Busher50 Yeah I noticed a difference in the third film too, I still liked it though. It's still a great score. Each film got worse after that in my opinion, and the scores weren't as good since John Williams didn't compose the rest of the films.

    • @CapitalJ2
      @CapitalJ2 9 лет назад +6

      +DisneyCroft 1996 I agree. The first two films, and their scores are the best, but the 3rd film and its score were still good. The movies got worse after that in my opinion, they're okay, but I kinda lost interest after the first 3.

      I thougt John Williams composed the music in the third? It was the fourth film that they dropped him off

      @ricardo9696 Idk, I think Alfonso Cuaron's made the franchise's style much better. PoA is amazing. The first two are great and nostalgic but PoA felt like a cinematic experience.

  • @timrob12
    @timrob12 5 лет назад +18

    I know John Williams isn't the only composer to work on the movies, but it's fair to say that his tracks are the most famous ones from the series, in particular Hedwig's theme.

    John Williams' wand is like a magic wand, the way it conjures up some of the most beautiful music of all time. Harry Potter wasn't half as good when he left.

    It's funny that the Hurry Potter theme somewhat sounds so... british as it supposed to be i guess, and yet it was written by Williams! But it's a memorable score, so who else could have writen it?! Very few composers today merely come close to Williams' genius.

    I love John Willliams but let us not forget the late, great JOHN BARRY. He too created some of the most iconic and identifiable film scores in history. His score for 'Out of Africa' was simply stunning.

    NO false... NO ONE can compare to John Williams as composer. MARK MY WORDS NO ONE.
    John Williams stopped doing the soundtrack for Harry Potter and it's funny actually... the movies themselves started to go down the toilet aswell.
    It's as if John Williams had put like 80% of the atmosphere and magic into Harry Potter and it was just gone after he didn't do it anymore.

    Listen to Jane Eyre, War of the Worlds, Images, The eiger Sanction and you will see that Williams is one of the most versatile composer. By the way, Star Wars and Harry Potter don't look the same at all. The differences between the first and the third Harry Potter are huges, it seems like another saga. And each Star Wars has particular sound, and new themes, you can easily say from which film a piece is if you do not know it, because the style is completely different.

    I get Williams left the series, but I wish that general motifs and themes weren't ditched as a result. There were so many magnificent tracks that just disappeared from the franchise. Goblet to Hallows in terms of music just had no character once Williams wasn't involved anymore. It's not to say those scores are bad (though personally I really dislike Goblet's) but I just didn't have the vibes with them as as I did with those first three.

    Out of the many composers out there, only 3 can be considered HALF as good as John Williams. Those are Jerry Goldsmith, Leonard Bernstein and Ennio Morricone.

    John Williams is a genius, but all of his music sounds the same, just listen to Harry Potter/Star Wars/Home alone - it sounds the same. That's why I'm more in love with Hans Zimmer. He has such a big spectrum by comparison. Just listen to the difference between Inception and Pirates of the Caribbean, or Madagascar. He always makes something new and exciting.

    • @adam4757
      @adam4757 6 лет назад +8

      You're joking right? Hans Zimmer self-plagiarises all the time. Gladiator and Pirates of the Caribbean soundtracks are practically interchangeable.

      Hans Zimmer is a genius, but all of his music sounds the same, just listen to Pirates/The Rock/Gladiator - it sounds the same. That’s why I’m more in love with John Williams. He has such a big spectrum by comparison. Just listen to the difference between Schindler’s List and Harry Potter, or Close Encounters of the Third Kind. He always makes something new and exciting.

      sanch Sanchayan actually no. this is better, john did better and please LOTR purist fans please stop make a fool of yourselves, they always get so insecure about HP or star wars. GROW UP.

    • @sadenb
      @sadenb 9 лет назад

      yea yea ,, we understand .. LOTR beats SW both in quality and other measures . Probably the only trilogy whose score got recognized by the academy of 2 films in the series .. not SW or HP. Forget about HP neither its film quality nor the score stands up to anything in terms of artistic ability

    • @1twifail1
      @1twifail1 9 лет назад +2

      I dont really do oscars. its rich white old men giving out awards. there is so much politics and corruption at that awards, so no thanks, I dont need a shallow Hollywood award to make my case or prove my point.
      all three are great to me and I disagree on the scores in HP because a window to the past by john William for HP 3 is one of the best score themes ever. its my favorite theme ever from a fantasy film, that score was wonderfully made and high in artistic credibility. this is one of the reasons why people viewed HP 3 as a game changer for the series and I believe the score was nominated for best original score at the oscars, not that it matters to me.
      I dont like the main SW score all that much the best score from star wars ins across the stars from episode 2 which was created by john williams as well.most of john william film scores are as good as the score from LOTR , some even better. Jurassic park anyone?

    • @sadenb
      @sadenb 9 лет назад

      jurassic park sounds good . artistically shallow . star wars has depth . still no depth as lotr .. the only other score to have that depth is morricone's dollars and nino rota's godfather 1 & 2 .. williams' schindlers' list , memoirs of geisha is far better than hp

    • @1twifail1
      @1twifail1 9 лет назад +1

      not to me. as the whole far better than HP is no really true in the sense of score it comes from LOTR fans having a hisotry for just be insecure about the HP series. sad but true
