This would honestly be a sick update. Those potato flowers were actually really cute ❤
Mojang continuing the trend of putting more effort into the April Fools updates than the actual updates
they prob have a team for the April fools, not to mention its full of bugs.
Unrefined one-off joke updates are significantly easier to make. It's more like an official mod than a real update.
The April fools updates are done in the developers free time so it's technically been in the works for the entire year. Not to mention Microsoft always lets them loose for these updates so Mojang doesn't need to ask permission for anything they add.
everything just retextured mobs and structures. and existing generation, it's not really much more effort.
however the last couple of updates? yeah.
It’s because the Java team works on it alone without having to think of multiple consoles. It’s annoying but it’s cool what they can do with less restrictions from the higher ups.

I wouldn’t be surprised to see the generation from the dimensions be used for the end. All the features in 1.21 are great though, and you can see the update in real time

I forget who, but one of the devs said that the problem with adding features is that for each feature, they have to go through loads of Microsoft corporate shenanigans, which I assume means they have to verify that everything is marketable, inoffensive, and brand-friendly.
So I guess they just have loads of fun with the April Fools updates, and sneak in features that way lol, like the support for infinite dimensions

But even though it’s unconfirmed- I’m confident that a big part of the slow updates is Microsoft’s rigid corporate structure
@@jackatk that's not true. That's someone's speculation, a rumour started by some youtuber. Microsoft doesn't really interact with mojang. You can tell because things like not adding firefly and other things are 100% based on the personalities of the mojang team and not Microsoft.

This is almost entirely because they have to go through heaps of bureaucracy with microsoft on normal updates whilst for these they can just have fun
Because on normal updates they have to get permission from microsoft for ever feature but for these they do not. They don't polish these updates as much. Also these are mostly just retextured stuff that's already in the game.
Also reason why such updates have more stuff is because here they're not checking for bugs, and they do not care if things are not fitting

The reason we need vertical slabs is because, you can use them to make longer stairways, also, we need slab combinations both horizontal and vertical.

At this point, it is more than obvious that they only put actual effort into April fools updates. Ironic.
Honestly I’m pretty sure the only reason updates take so long is because of people (Microsoft/etc) limiting what they’re allowed to actually add, adding it to every version, etc. Since this is just a joke update that’s not permanent. I think they get more creative freedom. Actual permanent updates have to go through a whole process to get confirmed
It’s only for Java and there was no need to be make it balanced
you do need to realize that rushing the cave & cliff update is bad & people would complain even more & plus it was during the Covid19 pandemic
@@Otherface i saw somewhere that the reason for that is the bureaucratic nightmare that mojang employees go through to add stuff, and the only place where microsoft stops limiting stuff are - those not permanent joke updates, and as a consequence of that mojang can finally free themselves and do a whole bunch of stuff. theres also a replier in this thread that says the same thing so i think its not only me who knows that

I know you guys are busy with all the updates, but can you please bring back the editons button? I have a lot of memories with the mash-up packs like the halloween one and the Christmas one they helped me get over my problems, and when i rewatch videos of legacy, minecraft i would cry, like a baby. The nostalgia that it brought to me would never be topped by any other update besides bringing it back, so please minecraft listen to my prayer and bring back the legacies button.
Mojang when they aren’t tied down by Microsoft telling them they need to make the update work for Little Timmy’s IPad on Bedrock.

So you smelt breeze rods to make breeze ingots and with a full armour set you can fly temporarily like an elytra and the flying animation has the breeze tonnage and it shows a bar on the right from blue to purple
And with the full armor set
When you launch a wind charge it creeper charges and has lightning around it and explodes on impact
And breeze weapon set:
Sword: Knock-back 5 (enchanted with max knock-back is equal to level 255)
Pickaxe: Haste 3 (enchanted with max haste is equal to level 255)
Axe: Smite 3 (enchanted with max smite is equal to level 255)
Hoe: New enchantment Fast Farming 5 (enchanted with max fast farming is equal to level 255)
