This came up when searching for inspiration for embracing gray hair among Indian women. Thank you for the photos and honesty! You look lovely. I'm excited to start my journey and this gave me motivation.
Everytime I get fed up and don't like my grey and am so close to dying it a video pops up and convinces me not to...so this time it is yours so thank-you and although this is 2years ago you looked great so you've spurred me on
You look so beautiful! I’m 39, and I decided 2 month ago to not dye my hair any more. I cut my hair to very short pixie, and now I can admire my salt and pepper☺️
Your hair is beautiful! Thank you for the encouragement. My hair is one inch grown out and it’s scary. It’s long and today I have decided to cut it in a bob.
Thank you , you are so brave. I am 65 yrs old and had 2 months of growth and I went to the salon to have it blended because my died hair was so dark and my gray is so white. Well guess what .... I'm now having to start all over again 😢 Lord give me strength. Thank you for your video. You truly beautiful inside and out. God bless you 🙏 Maranatha 🙏
Loved your honest video of your transition… I think you really rock in this new hair cut and style ! I’m in my transition too…and your video has motivated me to carry on… Thanks
Hi Sonal, i am also going through the same transition. your video is so inspiring and supportive that it make me feel easy in such a tough transition. it is 65th day of this journey. you said it right that the end result and feeling is awesome. well I have started already feeling good and lighter. once again your videos are really really good. keep making such useful and inspiring videos with such a honest and genuine efforts. i am 42. but i must say that you really look very beautiful with greys.
Hello Sonal, More power to you on going grey. Except for a friend of mine that has gone grey each and everyone in my family, extended family, and friends have told me to color my hair when they saw my grey hair picture. 🙃 My answer to them was that it took me 1 year to get here and so there is no going back now. It is so convenient, good for my health and it is my life. I can totally relate with you.
Hi Aparna, if u have stayed without color for a whole year, you are really strong, push back everyone and keep going, its your path and only you can walk it. Get a good cut and own the greys with solid confidence 👍
So beautiful I love your streaks!! Definitely suits you more all natural. 😊 its funny how it makes most women actually look younger!!! Just popped by to say hi, as this video was featuring my own videos on the same topic! I'm only 3 months in, and your message is so true.
Your video is very honest and motivating to all women who wish to embark on this difficult phase of their life .I resonate with your views and feelings being an Indian woman living in Mumbai and facing the challenges of going grey .
I am at the beginning of my transition and keep worrying that I'll give up when the roots really start to show. I found your video really helped to strengthen my resolve. Honestly you look great with grey hair. Great idea to cut to your ears, as opposed to going really short. I may do that too. My hair has a lot of dye on it, but it always ends up looking brassy and driving me mad.
Hi Sarah, yes its tough to have changing looks, we have to accept the new look and look fwd, I feel looking backwards wl weaken our resolve. I always felt grey hair matches with changes in skin color and suits best. Colored hair doesn't match our skin after a certain age. Join the Facebook group, going gorgeously grey, and you will get a lot of motivation there...
Loved your gray hair transition video. It’s nice to see someone with the same ethnic background as me went through this. I appreciate your willingness to share your journey with all of us. This inspires people like me and gives me hope that at the end it is all worth it. I am 8 months into my gray hair transition now. Looking forward to hear more from you.
I think you look stunning with short grey hair. It looks so much thicker and in great condition than the longer style. You look beautiful and so sophisticated and classy IMO.
Thank you for uour support..im very early in my journey..in a few days it will be one month..I also have very dark brown hair and very long ..I hair is healthy..I don't blow dry it or put any products other than shampoo and conditioner..I will probably get trims a little more often but would never go short..I know I'm going to need a lot of patience
Hello hope you are doing good and hope you are loving your gray hair...I'm almost 13 months in...its touch...am looking forward to the complete transition...
Hi Brenda, all well here, 13months! You must be over with the toughest part of the transition...just hold on a bit more, sometimes a little haircut completes the look..
This is such a wonderful video and I loved how comfortable and confident you look....also your face glows and you look youthful with your natural hair...you are my age ❤️
Loved your video. Its almost 2 yrs since I stopped colouring my hair since the lockdown period . I wanted my scalp to breathe as I had been colouring since the last 15 yrs. My hair is very thin and I want to change my hairstyle but I am unable to decide how a shorter hairstyle would look on me. I have always tied it in a ponytail . I loved your current hairstyle on you. Any tips to know how to find out which hairstyle would suit one's face cut.?
Try with a length bet shoulders and ears. Not too short fr a start. Then next cut you can see if u wld like it shorter. As we age, shorter hair looks smarter and is hassle free. Keep going and don't look back.
Thanx Sonali ,I came across so many non Indian videos for going grey and I was doubtful whether Gary will suit my very Indian complexion but you have really inspired me to go ahead with my decision which I took last week .I too have shoulder length hai which I am hesitant to cut but again you looked lovely in short hair so I will take out courage to do the same .thanx a lot
Hi Nidhi, It will add to your elegance, dont doubt your decision even fr a moment..its a change of appearance so be prepared and stay positive in a world full of people's opinions...go steady wt ur decision.
I am 44, thinking of going gray from the age of 40 but colour my hair every time mid way......as you said it's difficult to accept yourself while transitioning 😞 and i regret every time after coloring....... But i have mad the decision now after seeing your beautiful transition.... thankyou
Hello you look good on your grey hair.. I'll try it hope It will compensate me also coz I'll be 62 in a couple of months. Thanks for the courage I get from you.
Hi Marlene, it will look good, just be ready to accept your changing looks, ageing is simple and we complicate it so much, you will like the simple way going ahead👍
@@sonallele9109 I am fine when I go out grocery shopping, and to my non-Indian friends home ( we meet in the back yard due to Covid) But I still have not met any Indian friends since last March because I feel they might judge me. The first thing my sister when she saw me said Oh no, don't you miss your black hair. I think when I get good hair cut I might feel more confident.
@@Esther-ps3vx Comments will always be there, be prepared to just smile or have a polite reply ready like This is how it is etc....stares and comments frm ppl wl go as ur transition moves ahead and it looks smart and presentable.
Hi Pushpa, everyone has an opinion, if we were to please everyone, we wouldnt have embarked on this greying journey. Just tell them you have severe sensitivity to dye, or best is everytime someone talks about it, divert the topic to them. Be thick skinned helps.
@@sonallele9109 thank you! Totally agree with you. It seems that it’s okay for men to going grey but not acceptable for women who think they need certain standards . Women’s attitudes towards other women are often worse.
Yes its slow, transition period is most diffficult to endure, but once you are done, you will get more compliments than you ever did before! So keep going, it can only get better than where you were.
I liked your video. I m 39 years fat and short married woman. Colouring my hair from 11th std. Every month I decide to stop colouring my hair but I don't know why I colour my hair again. Now maybe I could stop that.. hope so...
I had starting trouble too, what got me going was acceptance that I wl be better off than before, no carcinogen on my head, no hair loss, time and money saving. Its tough in the beginning, always wanted to go back to color, but 6 months in, after a good haircut, everything changed, I felt good. Now people compliment me more than they ever did before.
I have been thinking of stop coloring my hair. I am tired of doing it since last 23 years. Since my husband has lot of black hair, I’m hesitant to going gray because I would look older than him. What’s your thought on this?
Divya, I think you need to be ready for transition and accept your changing looks, get your husband into ur decision too, its very important that you have support there. If coloring really bothers you, it wl be an easy transition, make sure you have a good haircut so it looks trendy. I am sure unitial doubts will go away as you start liking it. All the best!
@@sonallele9109 Hi, I tried talking to him. He got really tensed that I might go gray (considering my crazy side ). Little disappointed at this point. But, I know I'll get there some day. Thanks for your reply.
You could go a few shades lighter in your hair color, if u are using black, move to dark brown, then to lesser brown etc...you wl be transitioning without him knowing😀
