Hey Beth, you are probably a couple decades younger than I am but your personal journey has been helpful for me as I am at the beginning of mine. Your hair is gorgeous and the youth in your face along with thick gorgeous hair is a great combination! I think your age peers would especially look awesome letting their silvers shine. When you start in your late 50s/60s it may be slightly easier to accept but we don't have our youthful, Dewey faces nor thick hair as much as when we were younger. So, my advice to all here who are younger than me, go for it!!!

I am 3 weeks shy of my 2 year no-dye anniversary. I NEVER thought I’d let my natural hair grow out. I thought I would look awful, and old, and ugly. Well, was I wrong!! I just have about 1-11/2” to go, so I’m mostly natural colour now (my dye was fairly close to my natural colour, so it’s hard to see at the bottom). I always thought I was about 70% grey, judging by my 1/2” of root growth at my part line. But in reality I’m only about 15% grey!!! I looked back at a picture from about 3 years ago, and my roots looked way more silver than they turned out to be! Weird! So you just never know. But I feel like I look more like myself now. I know that sounds weird, but with my coloured hair I would look in the mirror and ask, who is that? It’s not me. It’s a strange phenomenon, but I’ve heard other ladies say the same. One of my biggest reasons for stopping was, in reading about the joint pain I was having, came across too many articles about all the negative effects hair dye can have. So, no more chemicals for me. Yay!! You look stunning in this video! (As always! 😉).

These days I can say that I look exactly like myself. I thought my hair would be 90% white, but it’s turned out to have more pepper than expected and it’s definitely more silver than white. It’s all a journey 💗💗

Just found your video as I am motivating myself to ditch the dye. It’s the comments that worry me, I get me feelings hurt too easy. Especially to my aging self. Hi, i started my grey- hair transition in september 2022, so i accomplished 4 month. I still have a long way to go, but i enjoy it every month more, and as much as i hated to see some grey hairs before , as much i love it now! Life is strange in a beautiful way. Hi! First time watching your videos. Thanks for sharing your journey. In two weeks time I will have my big chop to cut all dyed hair. I'm not going to grow my hair out, I'm going for a pixie shag and let it grow naturally again. I'm in my 50s and I had a deep realization to ditch hair dye and live my life without concealing that part of myself. We all are going to grow old, and grey hair is a part of that reality.

Love your channel! In March it will be three years for me and I have zero regrets. I'm 68 and I was losing my hair; having it colored once a month in addition to powdering and using root touchup dyes. My scalp was a mess. The lockdowns finalized a decision I kept putting off and after a few months, the baby hairs kept me going through the awkward period. Thanks to you and several other women out there, I have so much regrowth, my hair is long and strong. Be well.

I'd kill to have hair like yours but alas mine is naturally straight and at 60 I keep it in a smart stacked bob. The chemicals in the hair dyes are dangerous to the environment as well. I have not dyed my hair for twenty years for ecological reasons. Thanks for the video I am 1 year in on the no dye journey. I am loving this. I have dyed my hair since I was 17 simply b/c I love to change me. I am 57 now and sooooo happy this is one thing I am glad I did. My lack of changing my hair is actually the best change I have done. I don't want to let so much time pass without finding out how much I love just being me. Makeup and styling my hair is just who I am. Maybe someday I will stop the makeup (maybe) but for now I just stopped the color. It became exhausting. I hope that makes sense.

Yesterday I had my haircut and the final 1 inch or so of colour was removed. Like you, I went light from my natural dark brown hair, so the transition wasn't as noticeable. It has taken almost 3 years for me to complete the transition. As you said, " this is my authentic self." When I was at the salon, I could feel the dye burning my scalp in places and it irritated my scalp for a few days afterward. Not pleasant! The salon used the Loreal detox shampoo yesterday and I have to say, my silver has never been brighter. I really liked it, enough to buy a bottle. By the way, I love your hair when you have the curls!

Chewy say thanks, too 🥰🥰🥰 For a long time my stylists used dyes that were oil-delivery (ammonia-free) and those were much gentler on my skin than the other kinds. Even still, I’m sensitive enough that the skin would be tender and sore for days. I’m so glad you don’t experience that 🥰😘

I did two and a half years and caved in and dyed my hair. I'm on the fence of if I like it or if I miss my silver hair. But I have added in low lights so I have some of my silver hair but still exploring.
The health of my scalp and hair has improved since I have stopped coloring my hair. I started coloring my hair in my late 30’s. Stopped when I was 61. Growing out to my natural color has been a wonderful freeing journey. Love watching you weekly Beth.

All temple dogs from Tibet. I have a shih tzu now who is very old and not well, he’s been with us for 15.5 years. ❤️🐾❤️ No worries, there is a lot happening here in our world. When you have time, we can connect.

Wow, thank you!! 💖 I hate to say this but I can’t remember the brow pencil I used. Since doing that video I have so many options and I mix it up a lot. It might be One Size Medium Brown. I really like that pencil formula, but I prefer the ash brown.

Some realise that you're young and bad ass and others associate grey hair - and conservative dressing - with being old. Drives me nuts. That said, I think it's the same as blondes being bimbos or blondes have more fun kind of thing. It's a very generalised and stereotypical way of viewing women.

Also, Beth, I admit, much of what you wear for makeup and hair products are out of my budget. Do you endorse any drugstore makeup that you have found that works well for fair skin, blue eyes, silver hair?
I totally get it! I’m still working full-time and have a generous budget for these luxuries. I did post a video about drugstore favorites back in November. I would absolutely check out elf’s prow pencil, Maybelline’s lip products, and Cover Girl’s complexion products. I’m still learning more about drugstore eye makeup, but Colourpop gets rave reviews for their shadow formulas and I plan to try them this year.
My goodness. You do not look even close to being old enough to have naturally gray hair. It looks wonderful. I am wondering now if many of us would have gone gray if we had not been having our hair colored all these years. All these younger women makes me think gray hair is just not caused by being old. It is just another natural change of our hair. My hair has changed colors all through out my life. Born with almost black hair, that changed very light blond as a toddler, then changed into a golden sunny blonde through my growing up years. Turning slowly darker as I aged. Then turning the dishwater kind of blonde, eventually going gray and even the gray continues to get lighter. Our hair just changes through out our lives. Only we dont notice because we keep playing with the color. Loveing your curly hair. Is that natural like your hair color?

@@InfinitegardenbyBethK I started highlighting my hair in my 20s. That dishwater blonde just looks terrible. It would look better in summer with the bleaching of the sun a swimming pool water. But winter was awful looking. So the highlights brightened it a bit. Then I continued with the highlights blending with the dirty blonde and it didn’t look so bad.
Cont..and my hairdresser said the same ..just grow it out..my hair is very long and dark not going to cut it short..I went to pay a the receptionist who I know for forty years said hair cut looks great but you need color ..I told her I'm not..she wasn't in favor lol..but that's ok..this is her own perception of herself..everyone is initialed to their opinions

This is the prettiest color hair ever. I wonder if it is actually that color and not dyed like most women in their 30s. That is super uniformed so it does not look really grey.

Just found your video as I am motivating myself to ditch the dye. It’s the comments that worry me, I get me feelings hurt too easy. Especially to my aging self. I am looking for inner peace (like you have) and hope to do this SOON. Thanks for the video and plan to watch more of yours. Hi, i started my grey- hair transition in september 2022, so i accomplished 4 month. I still have a long way to go, but i enjoy it every month more, and as much as i hated to see some grey hairs before , as much i love it now! Life is strange in a beautiful way.

Love your channel! In March it will be three years for me and I have zero regrets. I'm 68 and I was losing my hair; having it colored once a month in addition to powdering and using root touchup dyes. My scalp was a mess. The lockdowns finalized a decision I kept putting off and after a few months, the baby hairs kept me going through the awkward period. Thanks to you and several other women out there, I have so much regrowth, my hair is long and strong. Be well.

I think the Miami woman was just jumping to a conclusion by seeing me from behind. She didn’t really look at me until I addressed her directly-I was invisible to her. When I corrected her assumption the dawning look of awareness was all over her face. She was embarrassed and fled, but that’s how it goes sometimes 😂

Thanks for the video I am 1 year in on the no dye journey. I am loving this. I have dyed my hair since I was 17 simply b/c I love to change me. I am 57 now and sooooo happy this is one thing I am glad I did. My lack of changing my hair is actually the best change I have done. I don't want to let so much time pass without finding out how much I love just being me. Makeup and styling my hair is just who I am. Maybe someday I will stop the makeup (maybe) but for now I just stopped the color. It became exhausting. I hope that makes sense.

Yesterday I had my haircut and the final 1 inch or so of colour was removed. Like you, I went light from my natural dark brown hair, so the transition wasn't as noticeable. It has taken almost 3 years for me to complete the transition. As you said, " this is my authentic self." When I was at the salon, I could feel the dye burning my scalp in places and it irritated my scalp for a few days afterward. Not pleasant! The salon used the Loreal detox shampoo yesterday and I have to say, my silver has never been brighter. I really liked it, enough to buy a bottle. By the way, I love your hair when you have the curls!

For a long time my stylists used dyes that were oil-delivery (ammonia-free) and those were much gentler on my skin than the other kinds. Even still, I’m sensitive enough that the skin would be tender and sore for days. I’m so glad you don’t experience that 🥰😘

Thankfully, I've never had chemical burns, but once when I was 19, and home from college, my mom talked me into doing a home perm. At the time, my hair was down to my mid back. Not after the perm! It broke most of my hair off. I was devastated, to say the least. Some things you never forget.

I did two and a half years and caved in and dyed my hair. I'm on the fence of if I like it or if I miss my silver hair. But I have added in low lights so I have some of my silver hair but still exploring.
The health of my scalp and hair has improved since I have stopped coloring my hair. I started coloring my hair in my late 30’s. Stopped when I was 61. Growing out to my natural color has been a wonderful freeing journey. Love watching you weekly Beth.

@@InfinitegardenbyBethK I do know. My mother raised Lhasas when I was a baby, and I have had a Tibetan Terrier and three shih tzus (one only temporarily but I loved her the same). All temple dogs from Tibet. I have a shih tzu now who is very old and not well, he’s been with us for 15.5 years. ❤️🐾❤️

I have an uncle who passed in December who loved his Shih Tzu so much that he wrote a book for her after she passed. He was otherwise emotionally impenetrable-but Abby broke his heart open.

Wow, thank you!! 💖 I hate to say this but I can’t remember the brow pencil I used. Since doing that video I have so many options and I mix it up a lot. It might be One Size Medium Brown. I really like that pencil formula, but I prefer the ash brown.

And you're so right about the hit and miss comments on grey hair. Some realise that you're young and bad ass and others associate grey hair - and conservative dressing - with being old. Drives me nuts. That said, I think it's the same as blondes being bimbos or blondes have more fun kind of thing. It's a very generalised and stereotypical way of viewing women.

My 89 year old father has been in the hospital for two weeks. When I visit the nurses usually ask if I'm his wife. It's been upsetting me. I often wonder if they would think I was his wife if I still had colored hair.

Also, Beth, I admit, much of what you wear for makeup and hair products are out of my budget. Do you endorse any drugstore makeup that you have found that works well for fair skin, blue eyes, silver hair?
I totally get it! I’m still working full-time and have a generous budget for these luxuries. I did post a video about drugstore favorites back in November. I would absolutely check out elf’s prow pencil, Maybelline’s lip products, and Cover Girl’s complexion products. I’m still learning more about drugstore eye makeup, but Colourpop gets rave reviews for their shadow formulas and I plan to try them this year.

My goodness. You do not look even close to being old enough to have naturally gray hair. It looks wonderful. I am wondering now if many of us would have gone gray if we had not been having our hair colored all these years. All these younger women makes me think gray hair is just not caused by being old. It is just another natural change of our hair. My hair has changed colors all through out my life. Born with almost black hair, that changed very light blond as a toddler, then changed into a golden sunny blonde through my growing up years. Turning slowly darker as I aged. Then turning the dishwater kind of blonde, eventually going gray and even the gray continues to get lighter. Our hair just changes through out our lives. Only we dont notice because we keep playing with the color. Loveing your curly hair. Is that natural like your hair color?

@@InfinitegardenbyBethK I started highlighting my hair in my 20s. That dishwater blonde just looks terrible. It would look better in summer with the bleaching of the sun a swimming pool water. But winter was awful looking. So the highlights brightened it a bit. Then I continued with the highlights blending with the dirty blonde and it didn’t look so bad.
Cont..and my hairdresser said the same ..just grow it out..my hair is very long and dark not going to cut it short..I went to pay a the receptionist who I know for forty years said hair cut looks great but you need color ..I told her I'm not..she wasn't in favor lol..but that's ok..this is her own perception of herself..everyone is initialed to their opinions

@@InfinitegardenbyBethK i get your hair is silver.. but your face is so fresh and no lines. You look younger than 30. I am getting angry here. Lol. My lesson is to realise i can't change people...and i can only change myself. They are the ones with the issues. I got my first and rare silver at 25 according to my hair dresser.. so i never attributed silver or white as an age thing. I actually saw so many younger chinese people with white strands in their hair this weekend .
