How these Japanese players talk with respect and humility. Role models that our younger generation should up look up too unlike many athletes in other sports leagues.

its sad how much racism he received from his own fans during his first few years in the mlb.

Yu was selected by the Nipponham Fighters while I was living in Japan, so I was able to watch him play before he made it to the majors. He was the most popular baseball player then, comparably to how Ohtani is now. Also, Ohtani's team in Japan was the Nipponham Fighters. So Ohtani really views him as his "Senpai" = Upperclassmen/Senior.

I can appreciate Ohtani so much more after this! Even amongst the Japanese players, Ohtani is very different. Love his playful, humble, and gentle character!

Yeah but.. Yu specifically mentioned how they all are great opponents that he has to prepare against, not just one guy (Shohei). I felt he carefully worded it giving respect to other players equally, but the interpreter pretty much watered it down.

unfortunately, not accurate. it does not matter how correct translation is but the guy misses important msg from Yu to the interviewer.
Dogers has many strong hitters and Yu said he cannot just focusing on Shohei.

No he's not very accurate and too many " you know"s" leaving out some core part
of what he says. The guy has good pronunciation so you are easily fooled.

Yu Darvish also said on national TV in Japan that Shohei would never make it in the majors as a two-way player and that he should give up that pipe dream and just choose one discipline. Fuel to the fire perhaps but when your childhood idol shits on you like that in front of everyone it's not fun.

This kind of cheating topic trash talk should take a rest forever. Cheating is of course is prohibited in Islam, as it is considered as the same thing as zina.
Laki laki dibenarkan demikian, jika dia dianggap mampu berbuat adil.
Itu salah satu bentuk keadilan, by giving her full credit and respect, and appreciation. I think Yu Darvish is really strict when it comes to his family's privacy.
Humans nowadays are about greediness and laziness.

Baseball is an international sport, and a business. They speak Japanese for the Japanese media as well. The other reason is also if they want to be more articulate in their answers and they don't have enough of a command of English to express themselves in a deeper way. In a way that can be viewed as respect in itself. Not wanting to give a dumb downed answer because of limited English skills.
