NDs defense is pretty much press man coverage, only way you beat em is if you challenge them vertically, NDs corners are very fast and will go step for step with anybody they play but sometimes a WR can get behind em. The real issue is sustaining chunk running plays, ND will give up a few of those but are very stout still and will eventually force you to take a shot deep because you got stuffed for a 1-2 yard run on 2nd down and it’s 3rd and long, this is where the Irish will feast. I want Penn State, and everyone keeps thinking ND offense is underrated. They'll see it on Thursday. We have decent wrs and good TE to score. ND won comfortably due to a big defensive play and a special teams td return. All points count of course, but if he doesn't get that he would've been forced into passing maybe a little bit more. It would've been a pretty close game there Notre Dame still I think would pull it out because I think they're just better than Georgia. USC put up more points on ND than they did on Penn State. 557 yards of offense against ND vs 409 against Penn State. 360 passing yards vs 220. Two red zone pick 6s late in the 4th is the difference in final scores.

This is the most PSU homer analysis ever. Equivocating the RBs is absurd, and referring to Allar as the best non-WR pass catching option in the playoff is semantic garbage. ND has an advantage in every area except the passing game, and isn't drastically far off in that
I think the most probable way this game turns out, ND wins. But if there are any twists or turns, PSU wins, since they can win many different styles of games. Where ND isn't a team that can come from behind. ND wins, but if PSU gets a 2 score lead, ND won't be able to overcome it.
I think just the opposite. I tink the most probable way this game turns out, PSU wins. Only way ND wins is if they pull of similar special teams plays like they did against GA, and I don't think that will happen vs. PSU. If it wasn't for special teams, ND would have lost to GA.

Do you really feel that if it's 3rd and 16 you'd rather have Riley Leonard over Drew Allar?
In an ND vs Penn State game? Yes.
@akhenteborotho5370 why?
Yes, give me Leonard
Yes because Riley might not pick it up but Allar will turn it over
@@austinfigueroa4851 Allar doesn't turn the ball over much. ND fans probably don't know but he leads all of CFB in completion pct on deep throws.
They send crazy blitz packages, they’ll send one of the safeties down to blitz while a linebacker and sometimes Watts to roam the secondary and double cover the best playmaker, which in this case is Warren. Allar better get rid of it fast, NDs front seven is relentless in pressure. As for NDs offense? They’ll simply line it up and try to run it down your throat. Simple as that lol.
ND better be ready
ND beat Georgia due to special teams. That won't happen against PSU. Penn State has a better defense than GA, and a better offense than GA. Penn State wins this game in a low scoring game somewhere around 24-21.
Recall USC a very poor USC scored 35 and had 557 yards of offense. ND luckfully picked off USC's SEcond QB twice to secure thwin but shit, USC pulled within 7 into the 4th.
What was the hypothetical line of PSU v UGA? Don't you have that info? Was PSU favored? Are they better?
No one is drafting Love over Warren. Even if they were the same class
Love is a sophomore so they’re not even comparable draft wise. Love can very well end up being a Heisman winner the next year or 2 and a top 10 pick.
@ find this comment when Love wins the Heisman. It’s not happening.
They’re only comparable when you compare them saying that one is better than the other.
Riley Leonard is a better QB right now? I want what you're smoking

Fans usually make ridiculous arguments for their teams but I'm finding ND fans to be the most ridiculous.
Penn State’s rushing has been better than Notre Dame statistically. Go look it up. They’re passing has been better statistically go look it up. Their defense is better against the run statistically go look it up. The only thing that Andy does have that’s pretty much equal to dependency is forced turnovers like interceptions. I just don’t see where this idea of superiority that ND supposedly has, but it’s just not represented against a weaker strength of schedule than Penn State had too! Make it make sense!
Exactly
ND just beat the GA Bulldogs and the backup quarterback for GA was not bad. ND had in check the GA offense, defense, and special teams. Beating a top SEC team is not easy and scoring a lot of points too! ND QB rush yardage will be the key to the game.
Yeah their offense didn’t do anything look at how they got those points
Penn State is certainly a better version of Georgia
No, they're not.
Not.
Not!!!
@@raveouscarlias4479Georgia’s defense is what? 33rd in opponent rush yards/game and 53rd in opponent pass yards/game. While their offense was 102nd in rush yards/game and without their starting qb. Georgia was never that great of a football team…
Guys Georgia can’t run or pass the ball well. What are we debating here? I’m not saying they are a bad team.
I want Penn State, and everyone keeps thinking ND offense is underrated. They'll see it on Thursday. We have decent wrs and good TE to score. Georgia has a crazy defense, and we don't put Riley in bad situations that he needs to throw the ball. It was one play that Riley could throw the ball, but he saw the Georgia dB in the area. He took off and ran to pick up the first down. No harm, no foul! Penn state has a good defense, but they played against less talented teams in the playoffs. We played Georgia. Enough said. Go Irish 🙌🏾
Oh and PSU WR’s Wallace and Evans are better than ND’s. Wallace has more receiving yards
James Franklin, for better and for worse, is the most consistent coach in the league. But where there’s consistency, improvement inevitably follows
ND won comfortably due to a big defensive play and a special teams td return. All points count of course, but if he doesn't get that he would've been forced into passing maybe a little bit more. It would've been a pretty close game there Notre Dame still I think would pull it out because I think they're just better than Georgia. And I think Penn State is better than both Notre Dame and Georgia but I believe Notre Dame is going to play a great game and it could go either way.
I think PennST's DL will have a tough fighting in the trenches vs Notre Dame's OL. Abdul Carter is a great pass rusher - I want to see how he will do fighting in a phone booth
Umm. Carter can play every way possible
So everyone who is not a Penn st or ND fan is in agreement that each team should appreciate how easy their path was to get to where they are compared to better teams with undeservedly difficult seeding
Are you referring to a Texas team that almost got beat by one dude on a G5 team last week???

You can look at the common opponent like USC and who had a tougher time beating them then the one that lead the whole game and beat them by 14 points or the one won by what was it 3?
USC put up more points on ND than they did on Penn State. 557 yards of offense against ND vs 409 against Penn State. 360 passing yards vs 220.

Running backs a wash?! Not knocking Penn state backs but that’s an insane statement. Notre Dame has the best 1-2 (and 3, and rushing QB) backfield in the country. They’ve been playing 1930s football all year like nobody else. Penn States a great team but to say the running talent is a wash is total nonsense.
Well when Singleton was National Gatorade POY in the 22 class for a reason and #1 RB
Penn State has two 1000 yard rushers this year. Does Notre Dame?
Mannn, I’ve always loved how Josh has defended my Irish over the years, but 4 straight picks against ND is a bit ridiculous. C’mon Josh!
The guy on the left picked Boise St over PSU. As a PSU fan, I'm worried that he has now picked PSU to beat ND.
It's interesting a simulation of Notre Dame and Ohio State in the finals was on youtube 3 months ago. I assume it's still there
Freeman already has a bigger win in three seasons than Franklin in 11.
He also has a much worse loss than Franklin, and he accomplished that in only 3 years. Oh, and by the way, Franklin did beat Ohio State once, when OSU was undefeated and ranked either #1 or #2. Oh, you conveniently forgot about that one. LMAO
ND plays a lot of man. Allar will run the ball very well with man coverage. He has done it consistently. PSU plays mostly zone D and they will be looking for a QB run. Just ask the SMU QB who for my money was the best running QB in the playoffs.
Yea. I doing like this soft zone PSU plays. It burned us vs Oregon. Bring back the man Defense

Cant see the locals of Miami having much love for ND, and ND is the season opener for the hurricanes in 2025. . In 2017 a Miami hurricanes fan held up a sign that read " i'm a catholic but today i'm a convict . Off all the stadiums ND has to play in they get this one .
As somebody who has discussed the orange bowl match up with even more diehard fans and people who work for the team, I can confidently say that as a resident in the city of Miami and a fan of the Miami hurricanes, after asking the thoughts of significantly more passionate and die, hard hurricane fans than myself. The only person that responded to me when I asked his thoughts about the hurricanes versus Notre Dame just told me that Malik Rozier was the worst but still dominantly better than the Notre Dame football team from 2017.
What? Georgia has no running game

I would pick Allar everyday. He converted many 4th downs and needed 3rd downs with his legs this year. He can do both.
I picked Notre Dame moneyline to beat GA. I'm picking Penn St moneyline to beat Notre Dame. Penn state offense is MUCH better than GA. Their defense is not quite as good but they are close.
