I also believe Jadarian Price is going to have a 100 yards plus rushing game, and Jordan Faison, Jayden Greathouse, and either Mitch Evans or Eli Raridon will have touchdown catches. I think Jeremiyah Love will be used more as a decoy, but will still have a long run, or two. Analysts always had pros and cons about letting teams with exceptional W-L records into the 4-team format when the team hasn’t historically been a top contender. This year there were a couple of these teams. One played exceptionally well but neither advanced to the final four. Any of the final four teams could win this year.
Penn has both new offense and defense coordinators. The team earlier in the season is a different team. The team has solidified since then and is playing better now

I don't believe Notre Dame has faced anyone all year. Penn State would have ran all over Georgia. Let's just get to the game and hopefully no injuries or refs making bad calls.. Penn State 31 nd 13 .
UGA spied Love and Price. That’s what UGA did right. Riley can’t be stopped but he isn’t a home run hitter like the other two. If you spy Riley you will lose Price or Love one or two too many time. Just have your WS linebackers man to man them and flow with them. Make him beat you with his arm and legs. That’s the formula to replicate UGA.
If our offensive line cant block or give Leonard time its going to be a long day. I know we have a lot of injuries, but thats no excuse. If Leonard can pass, the running game will open up. Love is not 100% so Price and Williams need to have good games. On the other side, we need to get to Allar and stop the run. Allar gets really inaccurate when pressured. The TE will be a problem. He is without a doubt the best. Can't stop him but limit him and by pressuring Allar, hopefully get a pick or two. Turnovers will be huge in this game. Go Irish.
Of course, UGA was stopped at running the ball because ND (wisely) selected a facet of the game to take away. If ND decides to keep PSU from running effectively, they won't, and it's doubtful Allar has the passing skills to beat one of the better secondaries on the nation. This is a 51/49 game with ND holding the slight edge. Whichever team makes the fewest mistakes is likely to be playing for a national championship in the next 2 weeks.
I’m a huge ND fan but we do not have the best secondary with Morrison out. Gray has been picked on and isn’t great. But I don’t think PSU has a great passing game but if we stop the the run we should be ok
@hehateme542 Gray was picked on by the refs more than he was SC. The Sugar Bowl refs were just as bad, yet Golden shut them down. This IS the best secondary in the country, Morrison or not and when that blitz package heats up Allar on 3rd down, he better hope there's laundry flying too.

Been watching a lot of coverage about PSU the last few weeks. It is very obvious the national sports media doesn't want to give PSU credit for anything. "PSU didn't beat SMU & Boise St - they made mistakes and beat themselves". I even heard one national talking head say he didn't really care much for James Franklin. I don't know if PSU can beat Ohio St but I am incredibly confident in their ability to beat Notre Dame. Just one caveat - PSU cannot allow ND special teams to make a difference in the game.
Agree. Defense is really good. Fast and aggressive. Penn st hasn't seen this. Riley can throw whatever you need. He doesn't throw unless he has to but he is very accurate. Nd 28- 10

This is only rough for the rest of the college football world who keeps moving the goalposts of what defines success for PSU. 99% of teams don't beat OSU, Michigan, or Oregon when they're ranked in the top 5 over the last 5 years, but that's somehow expected of PSU who doesn't stack top 5 classes or have an 8-figure NIL budget. Franklin is criticized for only going 10-2 every year, but then ignore when he's 13-2 when everyone thought it'd be a first round exit for PSU before the season. People completely ignore that Franklin is 34-1 since 2022 in games PSU is favored to win, but shame teams like Bama, Ole Miss, Miami, BYU, Iowa State, Colorado, Syracuse, Memphis, and Minnesota for falling a game short of the playoffs. As a Penn Stater, naw, we're good. Only fools disappoint themselves thinking that Ohio State is the Penn State standard when 10 years ago everyone thought it'd take PSU 10 years to recover as a football program. NDs defense is a press man coverage team, they can send Shuler and have Watts and one of the linebackers double team Warren.

UGA spied Love and Price. That’s what UGA did right. Riley can’t be stopped but he isn’t a home run hitter like the other two. If you spy Riley you will lose Price or Love one or two too many time. Just have your WS linebackers man to man them and flow with them. Make him beat you with his arm and legs. That’s the formula to replicate UGA.
If our offensive line cant block or give Leonard time its going to be a long day. I know we have a lot of injuries, but thats no excuse. If Leonard can pass, the running game will open up. Love is not 100% so Price and Williams need to have good games. On the other side, we need to get to Allar and stop the run. Allar gets really inaccurate when pressured. The TE will be a problem. He is without a doubt the best. Can't stop him but limit him and by pressuring Allar, hopefully get a pick or two. Turnovers will be huge in this game. Go Irish.

Of course, UGA was stopped at running the ball because ND (wisely) selected a facet of the game to take away. If ND decides to keep PSU from running effectively, they won't, and it's doubtful Allar has the passing skills to beat one of the better secondaries on the nation.
This is a 51/49 game with ND holding the slight edge. Whichever team makes the fewest mistakes is likely to be playing for a national championship in the next 2 weeks.
I’m a huge ND fan but we do not have the best secondary with Morrison out. Gray has been picked on and isn’t great. But I don’t think PSU has a great passing game but if we stop the the run we should be ok

Been watching a lot of coverage about PSU the last few weeks. It is very obvious the national sports media doesn't want to give PSU credit for anything. "PSU didn't beat SMU & Boise St - they made mistakes and beat themselves". I even heard one national talking head say he didn't really care much for James Franklin. I don't know if PSU can beat Ohio St but I am incredibly confident in their ability to beat Notre Dame. Just one caveat - PSU cannot allow ND special teams to make a difference in the game.

This is only rough for the rest of the college football world who keeps moving the goalposts of what defines success for PSU. 99% of teams don't beat OSU, Michigan, or Oregon when they're ranked in the top 5 over the last 5 years, but that's somehow expected of PSU who doesn't stack top 5 classes or have an 8-figure NIL budget.
Franklin is criticized for only going 10-2 every year, but then ignore when he's 13-2 when everyone thought it'd be a first round exit for PSU before the season. People completely ignore that Franklin is 34-1 since 2022 in games PSU is favored to win, but shame teams like Bama, Ole Miss, Miami, BYU, Iowa State, Colorado, Syracuse, Memphis, and Minnesota for falling a game short of the playoffs.
As a Penn Stater, naw, we're good. Only fools disappoint themselves thinking that Ohio State is the Penn State standard when 10 years ago everyone thought it'd take PSU 10 years to recover as a football program.
