Regarding #1, I turned down a “dream job” for a huge, well respected company because every day leading up to the starting date, I felt sick to my stomach. I didn’t want to have the job, but thought it was what would propel my career forward. Instead, I took a job that emphasized slow and steady with a healthy culture and nice people. I am learning, I am getting career benefits, I am getting fair pay. It maybe less prestigious and less money than I would have otherwise gotten, but I’m so much healthier and happier now. I am finally learning who I am without constant stress.
Hey girl, I just randomly found your video and found it awesome! It's always nice to hear real advice rather than the unrealistic advice that is unfortunately more common nowadays lol. Great video!!
Whenever I'm doing something super mundane, I love to play Ghibli music specifically. With soft, hopeful Ghibli music on, even washing dishes feels like I'm the spunky, hardworking heroine in a coming-of-age animated film. Haha!
"don't accept jobs you feel a little icky about" - also with people. I always tell this to people. When people say they feel a little nauseous or uncomfortable/etc about replying to someone, 9 times out of 10, our subconscious has realised something our conscious brain has Not. It is a warning sign and your body showing issue with something about that person. I was just talking to a friend yesterday who said she felt like she had to gag every time this dude messaged her like "your body has noticed something is wrong please listen to your body". It's the same with break ups. "You can't sleep because you're worried he might show up and disrespect your boundaries over the break up, that is your brain very likely processing that something is wrong." Obviously it's not *always* as clear cut as that, but a lot of the time, trust your body and a lot of negative situations will seem to breeze by. When I feel nauseous around someone, unless there is a Specific Reason I can pinpoint isn't survival, I step back. I've noticed how much drama/etc I seem to suddenly miss out on just by trusting when my "body has the ick on someone".
Notes for myself. 1. Soft life most importantly requires to live an organized life. Everything i own needs to have a place (where it should be kept after using) Stationery items, books, pencil case, skincare items .. everything should be kept at their place.
"say no without fear" silence 🤝 solitude another beautiful video! i appreciate the way you took the soft living concept on an intellectual perspective and not just physical. anyone can do it so long as we allow ourselves to be kind, understanding, and patient to our body and the ppl around us. energy is a real thing and i truly believe it's an important thing to protect and not give it out to just anything or any person, we must use it intentionally. love you always! 💙✨️
I'm totally shocked at the first rule, one of my current issues is exactly that. There is a scientific event that is a bit far and my research group was invited to go, it's kinda expensive but if I publish an article and do a presentation there, I can go for basically free. I felt a bit pressured to go, and a lot of FOMO as well, but being honest... I don't want to, I don't even like this career path I'm taking of being a scientist 😭
@@sollerona That's so complicated for me to answer because my issue is exactly not knowing that... I'm just really doing what comes my way, but I often feel like biology is not for me (which I just graduated and am now getting a masters degree) :( it's mostly fear of trying new things and regretting later
@@bear3si don't really think you will ever regret trying new things, the worst thing it can happen it's you don't like them and the best thing it's you do, eitherwise i think you will learn something about yourself and it'll help you to take paths that'll make you happy in the future
something about listening to this was quite uncomfortable, simply because it was something i urgently had to hear at this point of my life. i painfully related to everything you said and although I'm pretty good at reminding myself these, hearing these exact words from somebody else other than myself was quite helpful. Thank you
This is honestly so real. A lot of the so called hustle culture has been adopted but it's so unhealthy and things we see on social media are so unrealistic and unachievable for majority of us. And we are just so used to seeing this tiny portion being magnified by algorithms. It's just so much better doing what we love and can handle than putting someone else's life on a pedestal especially since it's so easy to compare our lives with others.
This list goes directly to my commonplace book! I Managed to learn by myself the rules 2, 3, 4, and 5. But my personal project and the aspect we were working with my psychologist are related to understanding and aquiring the rules 1, 7, 8 and 10. I'm kind of mastering the rules 6 and 9, but this ones are hard to feel free to do because I'm healing from past toxic relationships. I'm halfway to go, but I really hope I can come back to this video at the end of the year and comment that I at least managed to aquire 2 new rules for my life! Thank you so much for this video!
Uni can be extremely stressful and isolating. Good on you for sharing your wisdom and I’m rooting for all the young people going through it right now. Do your best and go easy on yourselves. ❤️
this was so extremely realistic and i want to thank you for that. this advice can be used for people who aren’t famous, aren’t influencers, are just people getting through life! we appreciate you so much 💕
I absolutely loved this, especially the rules 7-9, they are a much needed reminder in this period of my life. I need to let go of my past mistakes, and some past memories with a feeling of guilt attached to them, just like you said. Let that shit go. They're no longer serving me. And the part about not expecting others to conform to your expectations and not letting anyone dictate who you are, not conforming to their expectations, is also great advice. I tend to forget to stand up for myself. And I need to stop expecting people to conform to what I think is right. That's on them, not me, and I have to establish some clear boundaries, practice that. Thank you for this video.
Yes rest 🙌🏼 my body has been in over drive after with a new job, school, and my son. I literally drop everything after 1am now to get some sleep before work. I literally just unfollowed some creators that weren’t helping me mentally and today added you! 👏 ✅ btw love your glasses!!!!!
Loved the style of this video! Also thank you so much for the disclaimers, it’s so good to hear someone point out how social media trends these days often mistake a ‘gentle’ lifestyle for a wealthy one, and go beyond the pink-washed ‘girlboss/embracing your feminine energy’ stuff. Thanks
I just discovered your channel with this video. You seem very wise (and I don't say that often), everything you said felt true and made total sense 😮 #10 particularly resonated with me. I'm 29, and so far, I've mainly be in relationships out of fear and because of societal pressure. I ventured into them because of the "invisibility cloak" they gave me. I noticed - at least in my case - that once you're with someone, all the "Why are you (still) single?" disappear, and that felt peaceful. When I was 26, I finally stopped this, after getting into a very unsatisfactory relationship that got me asking to myself why I was inflecting that on myself. Since then, I have be on my own, and I ADORE my life. I have not renounced to the idea of being with someone one day, but somehow, it's not that important to me anymore. And I don't care what people say, cause I know how miserable I can be just to be in a relationship out of fear or pressure. Anyway, thank you for your video. I really liked it 🙂

Man by rule #1 I've already been told my life ain't soft 💀. Being physically disabled means I take what job I can get..so I can get tf out of my toxic household. Rule #2 means I'm gonna tell myself I'm being some silly creature doing my silly little job tho...Idk how exactly yet, but I'll figure it out lol
I’m sorry you feel that way! I couldn’t understand the extent because I am not physically disabled, but perhaps there are entry level admin, office, phone customer service, or online jobs that would allow for less physical strain that you could explore? Hope you achieve everything you want!
soft life can be toxic too though...like you might allow yourself to overanalyze shit when u could just be taking those Ls and making better gains in new things

I believe in magic.

Thank you! Will do!💚😭
soft life can be toxic too though...like you might allow yourself to overanalyze shit when u could just be taking those Ls and making better gains in new things
A lot of my video was about letting go and detaching which is the opposite of over analyzing but your opinion is valid ofc
Omg been trying to forgive myself for a lost friendship 😢 it was my fault but oh well can’t ruminate anymore
