Don’t overuse that one though, especially if you’re jumping around a lot in BPMs. I don’t recommend jumping from 80 to 100 more than once or twice in a night
Hip hop is the best way to learn how to Dj. The room for error is very small so if you can master hip hop it's a great foundation to mix any other genre
My favorite is #3. That is a perfect way to mix two hip/hop songs to keep the party moving seamlessly. I also own a ddj 200 and you guys are amazing for using different controllers within the same video to teach the same and similar techniques. I want to dj hiphop and top 40 so this was amazing for me.
I'm not a beginner, but I like watching to learn new tricks. I like number 3. I would have never thought to use the end as my intro. That's awesome, thank you.
i got my first dj set 3 days ago. spend 4h so far on it. watched probably also 4h of youtube (videos about how to dj for beginners over and over again). did a lot of beatmatching already and i was pretty darn good at it. What frustrated me was mixing in radio songs! technique #3 with help a lot!!! also, i didnt learn yet how to use FXs so thanks for that technique #2 as it was explain in plain language i could understand and learn! awesome!
I use 1 and 4 very often. With 1, i also do a quick forward spin with the echo on and then straight into the cue point on the next deck, while killing the fader on the previous deck. @LaidbackLuke also does this alot, so i was just copying his little tricks.
I have a Roland 2o2 and can’t figure out why the fist transition isn’t working for me. I press my fax button and it just turns it on and off on serato. Can someone help? I’m new to this lol
When u use the sample or the echo wouldn’t it be better to start the second song at a point where the song hits more rather than the beginning like you showed ?
You can also use "echo out" and you dont have to move the fader so quick . In rekordbox it is a "release effect" so it is cooler and make it seemless. number 2 will stop my dance floor. You can use a a famous /useful vocal drop to transitions. I use number 1 a lot. Three i use as well.
Yes thats the echo out feature you mention is also perfect to use. We did it this way just in case someone does not have the "echo out" feature in their software. Thanks for getting involved
For anybody who has this specific dj controller (Ddj sb3, fantastic controller for the price by the way, I would maybe recommend the Ddj 400 to anyone who wants the closest thing to a CDJ for the same price though) you can replicate the fade out in trick #1 by going into the FX fade bank by your cue pads and clicking the third pad (if the top row of pads is considered 1-4 from left to right) 👍🏻 It not only repeats, but also fades the track to silence so you don’t have to worry about bringing the fader down and you can focus on the next track once you’ve clicked the third pad. Be sure to click pause on the track you’ve faded though, because if you switch back to the cues bank, it will undo the fx and abruptly continue playing from where you left off, and if you’re fader is still up, it will come back on out of nowhere, and likely at a bad spot. However, if you simply swap the tracks out, you won’t have to worry, as the next track will be automatically paused and set to the first beat, so you don’t have to worry about anything playing.
....just like to add and say a BIG THANKS to all @ 'Crossfader' for the free 'Music Pack' download, their's some good bangers in there! Is there possibly any more? Where are there more 'packs' like this. I'm officially a 'dancehall reggae' dj but getting into the 'house music' vibes "LET THERE BE HOUSE".✌Peace
Great video!! How would you load the samples on #2 with CDJs though? On the DDJ 400 there is obviously a ‘sample’ button. Is there something similar on Pioneer CDJs? Cheers!
I like transition 3 but I have a stupid question, if I use transition 3 then I have to make beat match also and put the outro at same BPM as the already playing track, right? Because otherwise the sound will be silly, but you didn’t mention that. Excuse my bad English but I hope you understood what I mean. Thanks
im sorry guys, but if ur playing in the club using transition 1 or 2. They will probaly not let u play there anymore. Echo can be fine sometimes but it just sound unproffesional. Transition 3 is so smooth tho, that is what keeps the crowd going.

Hey Crossfader, it would be great if you could do tutorials with Mixxx
It’s 4 am n I have school tmr. I’m not even an aspiring dj
And now you are pursuing djing?😂
😂😂😂😂😂😅😅
The fever
😭😭😭
Did you graduate eventually?
3 for the win!! No stopping of any tracks, keeping the crowd dancing, and this will turn heads!
I'm a beginner DJ. transition #1 was probably the most important thing i've learned so far for hip hop
Don’t overuse that one though, especially if you’re jumping around a lot in BPMs. I don’t recommend jumping from 80 to 100 more than once or twice in a night
@@rcsims313 imo more than once or twice is ok but don't use it continually
First lesson I gave to fellow beginner Dj was you Id transition/ tension between the hook and verse.
@@remextv8877 like transition between the verse of song A and the hook of song B?

how's that goal coming? You a DJ now?
are you DJ now?

#1 was most helpful for my immediate needs, but #3 is most interesting. Definitely going to take me a few tries to get that one right.
Echo with 1/4 or 1/2 beat and 50% level always do the job
Absolutely
I use mixxx, how do I set 1/2 beat with 50% come volume? Thanks!
@@KatsarovDesign I don't use mixx but based on many mixx hud pictures i found on internet you just need to turn the knob straight up
@@notmtp566 that was helpful, thank you
Yes! I also love the 1 beat at 50% as well
This was pretty helpful! I have way more experience with edm but need to learn how to mix hip hop music for a wedding in about a month lol
Definitely all three are super useful! First one is my favorite! Use the echo out all the time!
My favourite is number one 👌
#3 was by far my favorite, definitely gonna play with that one
This video was helpful. Time to get sampling down!
He said transition and does the roughest transition ever 😂 gl bro
That transition wasn’t seemless, it was clunky
Thanks for that 🙌
Creating intro from outro😍
That technique is just wow
Thank you crossfader 🙏
Number 3 hits different respect
you can do #3 only if the songs have a similar beat - might as well use stems...1 and 2 are super useful and universal!
#3 = Creative. #1 = Standard. #2 = DO NOT USE. LMAO

hahaha omg wtf was that noise 😅
LMAO imagine doing that in the club HAHAHAH
Add a little low cut echo to the transitions and you’re golden. Great video. Thanks again for the tips guys

Definitely 3 is best. 1 is easiest and 2 is good to keep noise (but choose the noise wisely)
Ilove crossfader tutorial👍
Last transition was 🔥♥️
#2 sounded terrible but I’m not sure why anyone’s never showed me #3... good idea. Thanks for sharing.
Hi, I like #3, Echo out is always working but a bit boring. #2 I do not like. Thanks for sharing this.
Trlc0\llapro:esora
Number 1. Tq for sharing
Very nice thank you Crossfader ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
hello, thx for the video. when I put the second track, there is the echo, I dont know how to stop it.
Transition #3 made me a subscriber....good job man!!
Three is my fave. I use it a lot. It adds more layers.
#1 and #3 were nice but when I heard #2 I was like “Nope. Not gonna use that one lol”
Definitely transition #3. It is so easy yet very effective. Love it.
Where did you find those remixes?
oooh love 1 and 3 these are awesome! :)
#1 is a game changer for me, I'm learning how to mix hip hop after only mixing house music, and it's not an easy transition...haha
YO YOOOOOOO APPRECIATE YOU. This is a bucket list thing for me
That’s clever hehe the third
How would you do this in virtiual dj the echo out
Set post fader effects on
Very great video 🎉thanks for the help !!!
Great tips 👍🏿👍🏿 challenge u to do afrobeats and dancehall
Second tip is a great one, get some good sample sounds to hide the mix and you can basically mix any two tracks 🔥
Thanks for watching and commenting
I like the technique #2 because you can make the people think that you are playing the next song without noticing changing the bpm..
ive been mixxing for years but 3 was new to me and i like it a lot !
In transition 3 what's the point of beat matching it if you hit the intro cue point right after, losing the beat match?
YO YOOOOOOO, I appreciate the tutorial. I'm brand new.
I use 1 and 4 very often. With 1, i also do a quick forward spin with the echo on and then straight into the cue point on the next deck, while killing the fader on the previous deck. @LaidbackLuke also does this alot, so i was just copying his little tricks.

3 was clean
will i be able to do this in virtual dj with numark party mix ???
I liked #3
Transition 3 was dope and i learned a lot :) Thanks! i hope you're still djing
That's what you call "hip-hop"? :)
yeah man.. wtf
Excellent video
Thank you for Your Knowledge!

Yeah, to be honest, if you leave the 14 seconds mix in on Spottily it does a better job than all of those 3 mixes

what is the full name of this cdj?
1 and 3 were nice, 2 would be the moment i leave the dancefloor lol
you need all three
good job
Thx for the tips. There very useful 👌
For a Hip-Hop mixing tutorial I would've expected some more actual "Hip-Hop" songs dude. Not at all what I expected
Watched this again and not really feeling any of these. How hard is it to find a proper tutorial for straight Hip Hop stuff
I like the 1st one the best but will use all 3
i use tip #1 so many times its works for all genre. nice tutorial make moore like this
1, 2, and, 3, all of them.
Number three was a really good one thanks
Dope
Does the DDJ-200 have effects button?
the 3rd one is cool. The 1st one seems choppy and the 2nd one is used by so many DJs
I found transitions #1 and #3 useful and smooth. However #3 you didn't use hip hop beats to mix with, they're EDM type beats with drops
I appreciate the detailed breakdown. Question: What did you adjust at the 13:49 mark? & Why?
im sorry guys, but if ur playing in the club using transition 1 or 2. They will probaly not let u play there anymore. Echo can be fine sometimes but it just sound unproffesional. Transition 3 is so smooth tho, that is what keeps the crowd going.
Transitions #1 and #3 . I have used a combination of #1 and #2 experimenting..
Thanks for this!! Samples and ALL!!
thanks for your tips
our pleasure!
#1 for me!!!
Create your own extended versions so you don’t have to go back and forward like on number 3
Thank you so much the best tutorial ive ever seen !
How do I do 1 on a DDJ400
Thank you for these tips !
What’s the first Dj controller you were using?
pioneer DDJ SB3
