I think you were late on all of them and screwed with the phrasing too much. I wouldn't have 4 counted a break on the 1st and just dropped it flush, on the second I would have set the echo effect to actually echo at the bpm of the incoming track and mix into the echo, then dropped the third transition in 8 beats earlier.

#wearecrossfader #1 transition is useful for quick cuts or mix from cue points #2 is good for open format djs as it utilizes echo location and fade away #3 is my preferred transition that is evenly balanced with tempo range control and 4 beat loops but a bit more complex to learn. Great tutorial and very insightful about bpm, tempo ranges, fader control, counting bars and transitions. 💯

@@christ2664 well as a Dj you feel more confident about your skills if you did that but in reality, he's right, the crowd doesn't care. So yea it could be a personal learning experience that you can apply in your future sets to improve yourself as a DJ and you should care less what other people think of you cause they have no idea what are you trying to do.

    #WeAreCrossfader
I’m going to have to go with 2 for it’s simplicity and it’s ability for a beginner DJ to switch genres easily (with some practice of course). I think learning the third transition is the most beneficial because it teaches so many skills at once i.e. tempo adjust, looping, and just learning your music. Thanks for using different controllers in this tutorial as well #WeAreCrossfader

I didn't like transition 1 because of needing to use a break in the music to go to the next song. I liked transition 2 a lot because I think the echo transition is a lot easier to use. Transition 3 was the coolest, but it would definitely take me some practice to get the loop, tempo, and song synced perfectly. I think the two songs you chose for that one would be a bit difficult for me because of the off-beat start of song 2. It had to be started on the 4 which would be kind of a weird count.

#WeAreCrossfader I definitely think the third transition has the most potential! If you nail it so to say. Otherwise, everything will just sound crazy. That's the advantage of the first two mixes. Since they're both based on just playing one song at the time, you can't essentially make it sound out of sync even if it is. With the third mix, you can. But as a said if you nail it almost sounds like a mashup :D

Great videos , I learnt to mix 25 years ago
on technics 1210’s With vinyl and the djm 600. With was club and rave party
Standard , then came along the eventual
    cdj1000’s. Mk3s and djm
800 , Efx500, ( club standard )then swapped it for Rmx1000, Was still burning cds I untill jan2021, Joust got the new pioneer xdj-rx3 I be leant a lot from
Your videos with this ‘new tech’ , But I don’t think u should be telling beginners to auto sync or quantise the beat , learn to
Beat match by ear , 3 months and u will get it max

#WeAreCrossfader I've always been a big fan of number 2. Although I think I'm gonna try to master that number 3 as well, makes the new song pop rly well. Very great vids!

*I think it'd be a great encouragement and incentive* for new up and coming DJ's to build on their skills, if you held "tutorial competitions". DJ's will basically upload a video mix of them putting into practice a certain technique you've discussed. Then viewers get to vote on who did the best. The winner get's a prize. Ain't nothing like a friendly competition that will sharpen skills and overall positively add to the DJ community. 👊😎

Wow all this power to mix and such simple mixing. Back in the day of the 1210s you knew four beats and 8 bars before the music changed.you had to know you’re tunes by ear to find a mix and throw that beat in and chance it. Or slow it down. But the mixing was way more harder todo. If I had this kit I could smash it!!! And that’s why I’m here!!! I’m looking at what to buy. I’m locked Down and bored stiff

It’s funny because I’ve been djing for 20 years playing house music at underground parties clubs etc. and now I’m starting to do private events birthday parties possibly weddings etc. it’s a completely new thing mixing regular music, I thought I just walk right in and have Addit but you have to practice a little bit. Lol. Fk. Thanks for the video , helped me out a lot

I am a complete beguinner but ... i play in parties, wedding and so on. The music i play it's very very POP ... even disco 70, pop from the 80s and 90s and even the top radio songs of the moment ... drops and breaks are really rare and also sections good for looping. There's always a voice singing. Unless i loop for just two beats.
How to do it in those case?
When i want to play a song just for the famous chorus and then skip over ?

i've came across a lot of tutorials that use boring music as example
but now i'm just surprised that this guy used Otherside by RHCP and The reason by skrillex lmao
    great tutorial man

Transition 3 is probably the most fun and most useful transition. I’m actually teaching a friend how to DJ and he really enjoys looping.

Not all song sound well together, they need to be in the same Key zone could add this also to the tutorial. BPM is not all that needs to be aligned. Using ECO effect sounds good only if 2 songs are in close harmonic range (like Camelot System or Traktor own Key mixing Wheel) .

With Ecstatic Dance, we work with all styles and tempos, and I would like to know how to do these transitions in key. In other words, make them sounds good.
Sync, Smart Fader and Tempo adjust mess up the key of the song, so those won't work so well in key. Who can help me out?

Transition 1 is to me the best for the beginner and/or someone who doesn't have a dj controller yet and just wants to transition between 2 tracks. Transition 2 is more intermediate, but is great for someone who is learning how to use a dj controller to mix two genres of music together. Transition 3 is definitely more advanced, but can be amazing when you want to mix two extreme tempo changes or genres of music together. I would say this: learn all three transitions and learn which one(s) work best for the tracks you are playing and how the crowd reactions to each transition. Finally, practise makes perfect..

Although it sounds ok but in my opinion it kind of kills the momentum and the vibe, I rather play 2-3 songs to do the transition and keep the vibe going then killing it, or just simply use a DJ effect or transitions songs which does the same thing but without killing the vibe and you can go up or down or different genres or bpms!!!!

Can you put together big compilations of different types of transitions? Like just clip the transition out of dozens of dj sets to show many examples of each type of transition?
