If you want to get my free mini course with free videos on set preparation, mixing in key, where to set cues etc, go to this link:
www.clubreadyd...
In this video I will demonstrate the main ways DJs transition between songs.
Let’s start with one of the most popular and common used transitions of all time:
1: the fade - huge for wedding DJs
2: hitting play where you wish to introduce your new song (really popular when mixing trap, breakdowns without beats, shorter intro’s to mix in)
3: giving yourself time to mix in before doing your transition (really popular for house, longer intros, more time to mix)
4: trigger / fast mixing - to avoid vocals (quick transitions - keep energy moving, avoid vocals on vocals)
5: looping in, giving yourself even more time to mix in your new song (great for songs with shorter intros)
This is just the tip of the iceberg when it comes to getting club ready.

I'm so proud to say I've added so much new content to my courses - I have been devoting so much love and energy to it these past few months, hopefully you like :)
this is the most positive man on the planet
Thank you :)
I didn’t know someone that happy could talk and smile at the same time respect bro 😂
I agree with you. I had the opportunity to have face-to-face classes with him and they were amazing!
Agreed! He makes these videos so fun and engaging
i know
Mate you’re honestly a wizard on the decks, your personality and way of explaining is so fresh and easy to listen to. Keep up the great content man
Best fucking guy around hands down lol
@@brendan333 Yeah, what Steve said, subbed.
Yea can't disagree. Top info and cool teacher :)
AGREED !!! 💯💯💯
What transitions do I use if I want to go from the bedroom into my basement?
“I compromised my style for the sake of the atmosphere.” Came for the transitions, staying for that type of real talk. 🤘🏼
Craig Sacra this is so true
So true! I play techno, but at some point had to incorporate some pop tunes from the radio, cause not everyone enjoys techno as much as I do. But after all it is good, cause you can learn new things. It is also some kind of a development, cause you become a better DJ if you can mix different songs and not only stay in your techno - or whatever music you play - comfort zone. Peace to everyone!
@@radosawkowalski2237 Dave Dresden talks about this. He started livestreaming since COVID killed the Gabriel & Dresden Remedy tour, and now Dave plays trance AND techno, because he slowly realized that unlike the clubs, his audience is just here for a good time and we don't care where the genres go. I actually love how a lot of DJs can play more of whatever they want now, cause I've seen some REALLY creative sets
This guy feels like a real person makes the video just good to watch
Thanks so much this means a lot to me :)
Not the hero we deserve, but the hero we need.
I mean this was a great video but how is he a hero? Lmao
You just look sooo happy when you are speaking and explaning. Really love your energy🔥
R3vibe here?.....wow
Many DJ tutorials explain the "how", but not many explain the "why" and "when" you should use certain techniques. Your tutorials are by far the most comprenshive and well explained of any I've come across. Great job!
That last transition was juicy haha, had a big smile on my face
Still can't believe that these valuable lessons are on youtube, seriously, thank you so so much, this is unreal, thank you for your energy, for lessons, for everything, you deserve the very best, i love you brother, thank you again!!!!
You're very welcome!
The last transition was geez wow...So humble n honest ... here is a guy who is self learnt and pure experience ... best wishes
Thanks so much for this :)
You hit the nail on the head where I feel song selection is more important at weddings than perfect mixes
Dude, you are a legend. I was a small venue club DJ back in the day, so i know tune arrangement and when and where to mix. But now, just watching this 25 minute video, you have totally changed my method of transitioning from one track to another. Now you have shown me how to properly use the EQ's, my mixes are cleaner and quicker. Thank you very much.
M pleasure :)
When feel good by Griffin started playing, and that’s my favorite track to mix from when I start practicing ❤️❤️❤️ >>>>>
Honestly one of the best videos I’ve ever seen, love this
I often find myself doing the loop in loop out method because it allows me to play around and create in my mind my own edits that are unique sounding but in doing so I feel like I am not playing enough songs in my time slot. These videos are so freaking helpful man thank you!
As a new DJ, I've been trying my best to get better at freestyle transitioning. I play a lot of local clubs and am expected to take requests, so it can be a challenge coming up with interesting transitions between songs you aren't super familiar with and also are all over the place.
Love the positivity and I agree, as long as the audience enjoys the music, you are a good DJ. But a GREAT DJ will be the full package, unique mixes, good selection, and a performer too
Couldn't agree more :)
Song selection is KING! Spot on Sir!
This was my first video I saw of your channel. I instantly became a fan of yours. You have made DJing look so easy which it isn’t. Thank you 😊 I have been following many other DJ school and Tips channel on you tube but I would like to say yours is the best. Your biggest fan from India 🇮🇳
"Song selection comes first." Preach it brother.
Dude gives us all hope and the confidence to just have a go
I appreciate that :)
You have cleared almost all of my doubts I had from years not just this video but I almost followed all your videos, and offcoarse your happiest face and positivity reflects in my learning as well, cheers and love 🇮🇳 🇳🇱
This means the world to me thank you!

Unreal man! Just started with a controller one of the better tutorials I’ve seen. So many cheesy dj tutorials on RUclips, you’re actually down to earth genuine (not a wank)
Just subscribed keep it up!

Professor Brian Cox of the DJ World.
Thank you for being so down to earth and easy to understand!!
You are so welcome! thank you

Thank you so much my new buddy, I am blushing!
Club Ready DJ School The greatest part about it is that I wanna DJ hip-hop overall but you still explain it in a way that suits all genres
Hi Andrew, would you happen to have any tips on how to mix older songs (70s/80s) which have inconsistent BPMs? Thanks so much for all your advice.
You're a very good DJ tuitor sir
This helped massively so thank u

This video answered a lot of my questions!! Especially about songs that are problematic to mix
yh when you can pull any tracks out un heard before and you do a mega mix .. thats a good dj
You've taken my in house quarantine djing skills to the next level
Good to hear Ethan :)
Seriously, so knowledgeable, so clear, and so likeable.
def the best at explaining things properly, keep it up!
Thank you 🙏
I bet he still smiles while crying lol. What a positive energy
Happy crying!!!!
I’m saving for your DJ Course and i cant wait to get into it. Thanks for the videos !
This was great. Thank you sir!
My absolute pleasure :)
great content! I freestyle transitioned since I started and in these house genres it is not really hard even for a beginner like me to just wingit as long as u know song structure, but everywhere I read online it says u should use cues. I understand the value of them and would probobly use it abit mor ehere and there , but u just gave me confident that it is in fact not crazy to wingit aswell! Thanks!
I barely sub to anyone but you got me. Thank you for the easy to follow lessons. Everyone else is so fast with bad explanations or lame text boxes making it hard to learn.
I appreciate this, thanks buddy :)
Was just about leaving a grateful comment in the next video i watched from you and you just beging it so kindly, you're great man! Keep that good vibe
The old vinyl days... good point... God bless the star/stop button in the 1200 :) but before that we use to hold the record just as you shown so well.
Great point on the vibes...
Skip to:
2:17 - The Fade
7:27 - Hitting play on beat
15:36 - Trigger mixing
20:14 - Looping in/out
But then you miss out on me rambling lol ;)
@@ClubReadyDJSchool we still love your ramblings mate. ;)
THANK YOU
My man!
Will definitely use this more often, thanks!
LOL all I needed to hear was time spent behind the decks is time well spent. Damn right it is!
Legend, thanks Kevin
thanks for all this knowledge
great stuff thanks!
Soo cool!! Thanks!
Great video...thank you
Thank you so much for these videos some of the best content on RUclips. Great work and keep em coming
How about you say something someone hasn’t said….😂😂😂
From a vet dj to another, u explains well....and house music is definitely one genre where u must know various techniques,
Wow this was so helpful. Thank you. Can't wait to go through all your videos!
Thank you. Great skill to get into during quarantine... and after.
Great stuff man! Keep it going
I like the way you use body language to explain "rolling in the next song"kinda like your boxing, block the punch and hit em with the other deck🤘
Haha, this comment is classic and such a big compliment, thank you. Perhaps I am doing this subconsciously. I have done a lot of Thai Boxing in my life :)
Love your energy dude!
10:12 I honestly thought that was pretty standard, I dj that with my sets all the time
I love you’re informative and laid back approach to teaching, this is great! Thanks so much
You are so welcome!
"Time spent on the decks is time well spent"
Great video and awesome channel, my friend!
The added value is legendary. Take care.
You da man man
thanks a lot man
What a guy 💚
awwww schucks
Great vid man! I have a background in bands and making my own beats in Reason but I literally just bought a ddj flx4 to get started in dj! Being a drummer beat matching came naturally but BLENDING is what I need to learn and this vid opened my eyes to some great techniques! Thank You!... now off to practice spinning some beats!
I just started doing this for fun at home and you’re definitely the best to learn from. Thanks for all the free advice.
I’m not even gay, but if I was and had to come out the closet, he’d be the bloke I’d take home to meet my mum.
Haha schucks ;)
Sounds pretty gay mate, happy for you
What a awkward comment 😆
Toaster boiii
I’m surprised why you didn’t say that if you’re girl .. boys from toilet ahammm 🤣😬😜
Hey man, thanks for these videos. I’m a bit rusty, haven’t been behind the decks much in a decade and looking to brush up on skills and learn new things as well. I upgraded my kit to the xdj-xz and received it yesterday. My daughter loves music so I figured it’s a great excuse to upgrade from my old gear. You have a new subscriber! Thx!!!
HI Ian, you should check out my online course.
Great video and this guy gives off great vibes. As a fellow Aussie in the dance music scene we need more of you, too many snobs, blokes with a chip on their shoulder and ket zombies out there. Imma subscribe
Thanks Tim I really appreciate this :)
