There's been a few times when I've been playing with friends and fell asleep. I would wake up to being attacked by enemies 5 minutes later. Then, I would continue playing because I got my rest.

I've been playing a few games in bed and had a PS Vita and a 2DS fall on my face after I fell asleep.
Same with phones
Lol once I was watching vsauce ‘till like 3am and at about 2:30 I my eyes drooped for a few seconds cos I was tired and my iPad slipped out of my hands and fell forwards and hit my teeth and mouth
That was me most nights with Animal Crossing in 2013-14 and Pokemon X in 2015-16. I actually dropped my 3ds onto carpet floor several times back then, but recently dropped my 2DSXL onto hardwood nodding off in Pokemon AS, so that's concerned me. 😅

lmao I've done that as well. I was playing destiny 2 on ps4 doing a raid, when we finished it my mates went to bed. I felt like doing some strikes and grinding some legendary gear. 8 hours later my mates come on. First thing he asks me when he joins my party is "did you even sleep". I'm just like... umm.. nope.

I love the moment that I get so tired that I become energized. It's such a weird feeling, but lulls me into a false sense of "I can do this and be okay". Meanwhile, the next day I can barely get a thought straight.

or the exact oposite usually you are very calm and not fazed at all by jumpscares then in the dead of night while playing in quiet with headphones on so your partner can sleep and you scream bloody murder because something has leapt out at you scaring the absolute hell out of you. totally dont know this from experience..

2 extras:
1 - You switch out your competitive game, (Overwatch, Tekken, CoD) for a slow, calming game (Stardew Valley, Cities: Skylines).
2 - You get jump scared by non-horror games.
3 - you become so tired, that jumpscares in horror games don't have any effect on you anymore.

One of the signs I experienced was playing a game in an outrageously dumb way. Like following and assassinating random innocents in Assassin’s Creed, or jumping off cliffs at different heights to see just how far I can climb to jump off and survive.
Or like in GTA, you know you’re bored when you actually follow traffic rules correctly. 😂
Hey, I love to do that ! lol like pretending I'm in real life and following the rules of traffic, as long as I can, until that pedestrian is screaming at me because I might have drive too close to him. I get out of my car and shoot him in the head...
Then the cops are after me and I drive full speed respecting 0 rules, so ironic lol

The sunlight reason is the one that I've dealt with most in my life. It's hard to pull away from a great adventure sometimes. I already know I will be losing sleep when Red Dead 2 and Kingdom Hearts 3 releases. Guess now's the time to start buying stock in Red Bull.
I've had times where i would just close the blinds and continue for a few hours then I would realize that it was 8 in the morning and I had school at 10.

The Sign the Universe gives me when I have been playing too long is when I have to switch controllers cause the battery has died. And it’s the third time I’ve switched this session.

Or your battery is warning you it's low and you just plug it into the charger and keep going anyway (if you have a ps3 or 4 with a connectable charger) and deal with hanging on the edge of the bed or close to the TV until your controller gets charged enough to last a few more hours and you can unplug it.

Nothing like when all your friends go offline or to sleep, and finally getting the time to throw that headset on and fully immerse yourself with no distractions. Ahhh
For me it's or counter strike, or rpg's. Nothing else (or a new game i bought)
If I stay up too late and get to the stage where I am just aimlessly looking through my game library I always end up buying 2-3 games on the ps store then wake up the next day not remembering what I bought.

1. In the twilight gaming hours before you hope to go to bed, you should always play the more relaxing mini-games, or do your inventory sorting and shopping at that quiet town you reach.

Fell for that strap this morning. Decided to play the entire second half of Yakuza Kiwami. At 12am I was on the second to last chapter, should have ended it there. Ended up playing until 3 before finally beating it and going to bed.

"NO WE NEED TO SLEEP!!" "It's too late (actually too early) to sleep now, so we might as well keeping going." "You're right. I guess we should keep going."

When it gets to the point you realize you'll have to be really quiet when you actually go to bed, because you don't want the people you share your house with, to know what time you've been playing games til.
One of the reason I was so glad to finally move out of my mothers house. XD
I once played a game of zombies on Gorod Krovi with people from a different time zone and fell asleep when I saw the sun coming up past the trees. About 2 hours later I wake up, turn on the tv, and see that the other squad mates had been keeping me alive for all that time and we had gone up to round 50 something. So proud of those teammates

same here too lol it gets lighter much earlier now due to spring & summer.
I remember being 11 and being so excited for FFX that I played through the night. I don’t remember falling asleep but I do remember waking up to the sound of prelude and my mother standing over me at 7am and my dual shock in my hands. Apparently, I had tried to go to bed, decided I was good for another round, turned on the game again, got to the intro screen, and passed out completely.
7:40 At this point in the video I decided to check my phone, but I couldn't find it. I started to panic before realising I was watching this video on my phone.
It's only 4:11pm and I slept quite well last night.

Yea, Persona 5 was my bad one as well. I had a week off work and my partner still laughs about the 10 hours played to 90 hours played that appeared on my Persona 5 save file. That was a lot of late nights.

Makes you think about our ancestors sleep patterns. I’m taking thousands of years ago. People probably didn’t make it a habit of staying up all night, especially for reasons such as entertainment. I forgot where I read (so it may not be 100% true) that after our bodies stay up past a certain time, it will work into overtime, giving you more energy because it enters a fight or flight response. It assumes that the only reason you are not sleeping, and still awake is because you are in a dire situation, where you need adrenaline and alertness in order to survive. For thousands of years humans relied on getting a good night sleep because if they didn’t, it could easily be the death of them. Sorry, a recreational pot dispensary opened down the street from me, and I too am past my bedtime. I ramble.
