because the sturgians are based on rus, I feel like they could have implemented a light horse archer tree. maybe at teir 5 it can split into heavy horse archers with low bow skill but can be used as normal cav, and a light horse archer tree with barely any armor but high bowskill and riding.
Personally I prefer the Sturgian Horse Raider over the Battanian Mounted Skirmisher since they have a polearm but thanks to Taleworlds AI, it appears to make them worse instead of better (except for rare situations against cavalry). At the current state, they function more like medieval dragoons instead of cavalry. I don't mind recruiting them from prisoners just for the sake of raining more javelins against opponents but wouldn't go as far as to train them.
I think riding and the Horse have more of an impact than the armor weight. they should be faster than the Battanians but slower than the Faris. One thing i did notice though was that it seemed like they had the worst accuracy among the skirmishers, maybe that bit of extra horse speed played a role, or maybe it was just the low DMG javelins making it look that way.
I' ll make a guide for all major troops in the game. This week the community voted on covering the Empire in the coming days, after that the Khuzait will be the only one left
I feel this unit would be very powerfull when more micromanaged. Tell them to hold fire and outflank the enemy. When on their flank or behind them let it rip with the javelins and score tons of kills. Then hit and run once the infantry hits their ranks. Theyre still shit. But they can made to work.
If TW actually cared to give them the Lamellar Shoulder Piece.the one from Sturgia or even the one from Khuzait they'd sit at a comfortable 51 to 53 BA,a very respectable amount for a cavalry unit. But it's TW...they're the guys that thought Darkhans could use Glaives was a good choice...so it doesn't surprise me.
Seems like sturgian cav have a theme of being hybrid units - useful on both horse and on foot haha
The historical sturgian raider armor cracked me up SO HARD! 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

The outriders are pretty much the sturgian horse archers

Same for me. A decent unit if you get it for free but nothing to really build a competitive army around
just dismount druzhniks
you got the best infantry
Does the fact that they have really low horse armour mean that they have a higher top speed than other Skirmish Cavalry?

Will you make a troop guide on Khan's Guards ? Nice list of guides btw

Khans guard is the best in litteraly every case, wich makes it the most boring unit in the game wich you should avoid if you like the game
@@JasperKlijndijk an interesting and a valid point of view. thanks.

Does armor matter... YES!
Apparently TW forgot tho 😂
hopefully the videos will help in balancing the units out. These guys are one of those troops that needs a slight buff in the armor department.
How good is khuzait heavy lancer
no great at all to be honest

No Khuzait Shall Ever Be Weak! TW motto.
@@LyonExodus Considering that TW is a Turkish company, it makes sense that they buffed Khuzait to the moon.
For the Empire!!
